Good morning CPT Cantrell DCAMM employee Carl Duemling’s attitude and the way he conducts buisness reflects poorly as a state employee and an employee of DCAMM. Duemling attempts to verbally disapline ISA officers. This is not the first time he has displayed such behavior and I am sure it will not be the last. Duemling reapetedly threatens ISA officers jobs. As Supervisor of the Charles F. Hurley building I will not tolorate such bevaior toward my officers. Myself and the officers assigned to the Hurley are well aware of what needs to be done to secure the building properly. Duemling forgets it was my staff and I who trained him on policies and procedures associated with the sucurity of the building. The officers assigned to the Hurley building
In the case study of whistle-blowing at Corcoran State Prison, two corrections officers were all but shunned for the actions they took to put an end to the mistreatment of prisoners. Officers Richard Caruso and Steve Rigg witnessed their fellow corrections officers abusing their power by placing rival gang members in a small recreation yard in the Security Housing Unit (SHU) to promote fighting. The officers would make bets on the inmates, treated the fighting like a sport and used unnecessary deadly force with a firearm at will (Dryburgh, 2009). Caruso and Rigg, both former marines, had superior comprehension of ethically handling a firearm; the actions of their co-workers became unacceptable so they took action (Dryburgh, 2009).
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department (WCSD) has a wide span of control. However in terms of the number of direct reporting employees, the sergeant in the jail division has the broadest span of control. Wide spans of control promote efficiency, productivity, and are cost effec...
...e actions of his company and the work they do in the line of duty. He has also employed a plumber without a license and may be found to be at fault for that plumber’s lack of a license. Although Mr. Chetum deserves to be brought to justice it seems that just about everyone who has a hand in the wrong can be held liable even for just following orders. Knarles would be wise to re-evaluate just who he puts his faith in before leaving the state and his business in the hands of a seventeen year old again.
For the purpose of this paper, the Houston Police Department’s organizational structure will be used to illustrate the chain of command. The jail operations are designated to Strategic Operations as you can see from the diagram below, and it is overseen by the executive assistant chief, assistant chief and captain. The captain over jail operations is responsible for all three shifts at the city jail, and he assigns three lieutenants to supervise each shift (days, evenings, and nights). Within Houston’s jail facility, there are both classified officers and civilians performing various assignments and tasks. The immediate concern that was brought to attention pertains to a sexual misconduct allegation from a female inmate against a correctional

Issues: was McCurdy incident be classified as sexual harassment since it was just one single incident, which was stop the minutes the complaint was filed and should the Arkansas State Police department be liable for Sergeant Hall behavior?
Although that gives the report a sometimes odd tone, defending a system that it admits failed badly, it also provides for some of the document's most evident soul-searching. One passage in particular warns of the consequences when police let down their guard. "Essentially, many of the problems found by this [Board of Inquiry] boil down to people failing to do their jobs with a high level of consistency and integrity," the report states. "Unfortunately, we found this to be true at all levels of the organization, including top managers, first-line supervisors and line personnel. Clearly, pride in one's work and a commitment to do things correctly the first time seems to have
Erik Peterson faced a number of challenging situations with Jeff Hardy, a high level employee with CelluComm, the parent company of GMCT. At first we see an awkward relationship with Jeff Hardy whom Peterson had been assigned to work under by Ric Jenkins, partly due to the lack of concrete relationship guidelines between the two (Sami, 2013). Hardy had very little operational experience, and Peterson felt that he was unable to receive constructive guidance from Hardy. As a subordinate to Hardy, Peterson should have instead attempted to resolve this problem early on as it was a critical relationship within the GMCT Company. Consulting Hardy by letting him know of his concerns would have been a more efficient and respectful manner in handling the situation. This relationship building would also have been integral in facing the Peterson-Hardy communication issues with respect to the local municipalities and fire department. Operant Learning Theory (Johns & Saks, 2014, p.54) suggests that as a result of this negative consequence Peterson should be able to improve his interpersonal skills specifically with superiors within the organization moving forward. As a subordinate to Hardy, Peterson should have instead attempted to resolve this problem early on as it was a critical relationship within the GMCT Company.
The Loveland Fire Rescue and Authority (LFRA) is getting ready to go through a change in leadership. Our current Fire Chief, Randy Mirowski, is getting ready to take the next step of his life into retirement. This paper is going to define why this change in leadership could potentially be a problem, provide a background of the culture at LFRA, suggest an alternative solution to the problem and then suggest how LFRA can manage the potential resistance that could be experienced in this change process.

Employment or labor laws have been developed to facilitate smooth relationship between employers and employees. Employment laws provide rules and regulations that should govern both the employer and the employees in their places of work. Employment laws discuss issues related to child labor, wages and salaries, retirement, working conditions, compensations, incentives and employment benefits among others.
