This chapter deals with students with emotional and behavior disorder. The study of children with emotional and behavior disorders is dated all the way back to the beginning of the 20th century in the fields of medicine and psychology. Emotional and behavior disorder is defined as an emotional disturbance in IDEA. Students who suffer from emotional and behavioral disorder display internalizing and externalizing behaviors and their emotional problems lead to problems in a social relationship. In order to identify students with an emotional and behavioral disorder, there is a formal and informal assessment instrument and procedures. This includes behavior checklists; interviews with professionals, parents, and students; observation; ability and achievement testing and medical information. Most students who have an emotional and behavioral disorder often spend the majority of their time in a special education setting.

Summary
Although as a teacher it is not in my job title to diagnose a student with any time of disability I can actually get into a lot of trouble. As a teacher, instead of me trying to diagnose students a goal that I could have is to come up with creative ways. Usually, have a cognitive functioning level that is at least 2 standard deviations below the average 100 on an IQ exam. A common problem that student with this type of disability has is they trouble to carry out the day-to-day life activities. For some students, it is also common to have health and physical problem. According to the IDEA, students who are being diagnosed with this type of learning disability has a specific outlined procedure that they must go through in order to be correctly
