Elon Musk Elon Reeve Musk was born in South Africa on June 28, 1971, to his parents Maye and Errol Musk. There were social, economic, and cultural influences on Elon Musk which affected his lifetime achievements. Elon Musk is a very innovative entrepreneur, who is working on innovative technology for a cleaner Earth. He is the founder of SpaceX, Tesla, Solar City, and others. Musk has many original ideas that can change the way people travel, harness energy, and be able to explore space. He has multiple accomplishments, even from a young age. For example “he taught himself to code and made his first program sale at the age of 12”. Although his first sale was only equivalent to $500, it is still a huge accomplishment that paved the way for …show more content…
He was also an avid reader, so it makes sense that he is in the career field that he is in. He mostly lived with his father after his parents divorced so he was probably inspired from his father to become an engineer himself, as well as an inventor and entrepreneur. He was also bullied throughout his life which caused him to go to mainly private schools. His almost introverted personality is something that could have made him want to create things. His love for reading and keeping to himself allowed him research and think about what innovative technologies he could create. “When he was 17, in 1989, he moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University and to avoid mandatory service in the South African military, but he left Queen’s University to study business and physics at University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in economics” (Elon Musk …show more content…
He later got married to Talulah Riley in 2010 but they separated in 2012. They got back together in 2013 but again eventually divorced in 2016. He is not currently married. His family is something that could motivate him to do what he does and how he does it. His kids more than likely help him think of new and contemporary things to create, I believe this because he probably is thinking of not just the present but how he wants his kids to live. He, like everyone else in the world wants his kids and even their kids to live in a world with cleaner energy, and vast space
I hope I have answered the question “What was his personal life like?” good in here and would like to summarize by saying that he was able to overcome all odds to become a famous inventor that even had a movie made by him. I would also like to say that He made many, many products that we still use all from simple plants like peanuts in summary to the answer of the question “What did he actually do?”. He also had many hobbies that ended up in helping many people (“What did he like to do when he wasn’t working?”). I have found that this man that I knew nothing about before the report is one of the few real life people I know of that overcame so many things in his life that almost no one even knows
It's amazing to think that a young boy with just a few years of formal schooling went on to become a creative genius and one of the world's most important inventors, receiving more than 50 patents for devices that dramatically changed, improved and modernized the railway system.
For a long time, people have always dreamed about traveling in spaceships or flying cars. The closer people have ever gotten to that reality is through fictional stories. But, what if there is a chance to start traveling to any destination around the world within less than an hour? Elon Musk’s new idea about traveling around the world by rocket would help humanity to evolve into a much more intelligent species. It would also give rockets a new purpose that hadn’t been thought of before. However, is it possible to accomplish such an ambitious task? Rocket traveling seems to be an accomplishable form of transportation because (1) of Elon Musk´s history of innovation and overcoming challenges, fast advancements

Born in 1856 the son of an Orthodox priest in Smiljan, Croatia, Nikola Tesla had an early exposure to inventing. His mother, although unschooled, was a very intelligent woman who often created appliances that helped with home and farm responsibilities, such as a mechanical eggbeater.
Nikola Tesla was born midnight on July 10, 1856, in Smiljan, Lika, which at that time was part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, which is now known as Croatia. His father was named Milutin Tesla and he was a Serbian Orthodox Priest. Djuka Mandic was his mother and she invented household appliances. Tesla was the fourth child of five, having one older brother and three younger sisters. In 1873, Tesla studied at the the Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria and the University of Prague. At first, he wanted to pursue in physics and mathematics, but shortly after he became extremely interested in electricity. He began studying alternating current their also. Supposedly he had a photographic memory being able to memorize complete books. In December 1878, he left Graz and his family. In 1881, he started his career as an electrical engineer working for a telephone company in Budapest. It was around that time that Tesla was able to discover the solution for the rotating magnetic field. He was able to describe the basics of the induction motor to his peers. Later his alternating current induction motor would be considered one of the ten greatest discoveries of all time. Before coming to America, Tesla joined the Continental Edison Company in Paris where he designed. In February 1882, Tesla discovered the rotating magnetic field, an important principle in physics and it was also the start to pretty much all devices that use alternating current. In 1883, he secretly built a prototype of the induction motor which he was able to run successfully. Nobody in Europe cared about promoting his unqualified device, Tesla then accepted an offer to work for Thomas Edison in New York. His childhood dream was to come to America and to be able to grasp ...
Becoming the richest man in the world, Bill Gates is one of the most influential men. Not only is Bill Gates one of the most influential figures in the world, but he is also one of the most influential figures in the business world. Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. Gates was born into already well established family. “His father, William Henry Gates Jr., was a successful lawyer, and his mother, Mary Maxwell, was chairwoman of United Way International.”(Stevenson).
Exploring the deep, dark realms of outer space, developing new energy efficient cars, and coding computers to make life easier are all areas of science that Elon Musk has effected. In his youth, his thirst for knowledge could not be quenched. He read every book and never ran out of questions to ask about the way machines worked. College life helped Elon Musk learn the skills he would need for the outside world. As a professional entrepreneur and the CEO of three companies, Elon Musk has effected almost every area of science.
Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan, Croatia at midnight between July 9th and 10th 1856. He was intelligent since his early childhood. He soon became interested in engineering and he studied it at the Technical University in Graz, Austria, from 1877 to 1880. Right after that he went to the University of Prague in 1880, but his father had died and he withdrew his studies from the University soon after. Tesla always dreamed of becoming an electrical engineer and to invent a new type of power transmission instead of Direct Current (DC). He mourned for his father for about a year, but he had to return to his work. In 1881 he went to Budapest to work as an engineer for a telephone company, but this isn't what he wanted to in life. Tesla's dream finally came true and he went to America in 1884 to meet and Thomas Edison for the first time, but relations with him weren't as good as he thought would be. Tesla still decided to work for Edison, but he disliked the job because Thomas Edison refused to let Tesla make patents on his ideas of a new power transmission. Thomas Edison knew that ...
Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan, Croatia on July 10, 1856 during a thunder storm. He got his inventive side from his mother. His father wanted him to go into the priesthood, which Tesla had no interest in doing. He attended the Johanneum Polytechnic in Graz, Austria. That is where he became fascinated with electricity and built his first motor. He lost his scholarship and went back home. After his father’s death he went to Prague University to study math, physics and philosophy. Tesla would go to Paris eventually making his way to the United States. He would spend the rest of his life in the United States; even becoming a U.S. citizen. He would work for and with Thomas Edison, George Westinghouse
Some of his inventions were improvements on other inventions, like the telephone. He didn’t “invent” the telephone he just made it better. Some of his inventions he did try to invent, like the light bulb and the movie projector. The one he is most proud of was pretty much an accident--the phonograph.
Nikola Tesla was born on a stormy night on July, 10th, 1855 in Smiljan, Croatia. Nikola’s father was a priest and his mother was a house wife. In her free time she would read or invent little things to help around the house. Nikola started to invent at a very young age. One day his brothers invited him down to a creek to go frog fishing. Nikola refused and instead went frog fishing some were else. At first he couldn’t catch any frogs so he tried something new and dangled the hook were frogs already were, he ended up catching
Nikola Tesla was born July 10, 1856, in Smiljan, Croatia. He began his love for inventing at an early age, inspired by his mother, who invented different appliances for her family to use. Though his father was a priest and wanted him to become one too, he continued to chase the interests, and he went to school in Austria at the Polytechnic Institute at Graz, where he graduated at the top of his class. He was brilliant from the start, finding problems with DC motors and finding ways to fix them, obsessing over his improvements for a little over half a
Another incredibly talented and well- known inventor is none other than Nikola Tesla. Tesla was born in Smiljan, Lika, in the region of Croatia on July 10, 1856. His father was an Orthodox priest, and his mother was a house hold appliance inventor. As a child he was known for being ingenious and obsessive. Tesla was a very fast-paced and obsessive learner. He often pulled all-nighters, or functioned with only a few hours of sleep. Tesla loved challenging the standard theories, along with improving and advancing them. Unfortunately, his obsessiveness with subjects and challenges caused him to develop Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. (SOURCE). As a young adult, he took classes at the Realschule, Karlstadt iin 1873, and although he started his career
Nikola Tesla (shown in Figure 1) was born on the 9th July 1856 in Smiljan, Austrian Empire, or known today as Croatia and deceased in New York (USA) on the 7th January 1943. Tesla’s Father, Milutin Tesla, was an orthodox priest, while his mother, Djuka Mandic, spent her free time inventing household items and inspired Nikola; Tesla was one of five siblings, Dane, Angelina, Mike and Marcia (Biography.com Editors 2017)
