Nikola Tesla (shown in Figure 1) was born on the 9th July 1856 in Smiljan, Austrian Empire, or known today as Croatia and deceased in New York (USA) on the 7th January 1943. Tesla’s Father, Milutin Tesla, was an orthodox priest, while his mother, Djuka Mandic, spent her free time inventing household items and inspired Nikola; Tesla was one of five siblings, Dane, Angelina, Mike and Marcia (Biography.com Editors 2017)

Tesla’s most influential creations, set to change the world was produced in 1891 when tesla came up with what was known as the Tesla coil.
Although the Tesla coil has been replaced in many areas by more modern circuitry, the tesla coil at the time is what allowed for the first wireless telegraph communication systems to work (MagLab 2014)
“Everything is light” – (In5D 2014) in 1899 Nikola Tesla took part in an interview with John Smith, this interview came to be particularly famous, and showed Teslas way of thinking when he used the term “Everything is light” this became one of Teslas most famous interviews, the full interview can still be found and read from transcripts online today, In summary Nikola Tesla is one of histories most desired Electrical Engineers, his ideas and creations set many of the foundations on which Electrical Engineers all over the globe use today. Although not all his ideas are still in use today, a lot of the technology we have today, such as wireless communication systems, would not be possible without the innovative work of Nikola Tesla.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was an eccentric man that was many lifetimes ahead of his generation. He was a man that dreamed of giving the world an unlimited supply of wireless energy. His genius imagination allowed him to think outside the box and solve issues that others had thought were unsolvable. Nikola Tesla proposed his vision for a system powered by an alternating current generator to Thomas Edison and was shot down because Thomas Edison’s power structure had already been established using a direct current system. The two butt heads however Nikola Tesla was relentless. After being used and rejected by Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla picked himself and went toe to toe with the most prolific inventor. The stage for David vs Goliath was set. Through Nikola Tesla’s borderline obsession to solve the design for an alternating current motor and sacrificing his own opportunity to become a wealthy man, we now live in a very efficient world where everyone reaps the rewards of his genius, few know his name, and even fewer know what he did.

As James Levine is famous for saying, “I was lucky that I met the right mentors and teachers at the right moment.” To me, one of the greatest mentors of innovative scientific history was Nikola Tesla. That being said, if given the opportunity to spend the next year of my life in a different time period I would like to live during the year 1942 so I could work beside Tesla. Nikola Tesla is a man that many individuals associate with brilliance. Moreover, Tesla is a name that ignites impulses within an individual’s brain which illuminate, via bio-circuitry, the thought association of Tesla and brilliance, similar to the force we term as electricity. Brilliance however, shouldn’t be the only descriptive word to come to mind when thinking of one of the greatest engineers and inventors to live. Although Faraday was unsuccessful when it came to money, he was very successful in the field of science, namely electric science. One of his most important discoveries is that of electro-magnetic induction. It was this experiment, and others of the like, that brought about the discoveries of Maxwell, Rutherford, and Einstein, and elevated Faraday from the son of a poor blacksmith, to a great man of modern science.
Edison had creation of the DC system which was a current that runs consistently in a singular direction, as in a battery or a power module. This was the early years of power, and the first electrical system for the U.S. Be that as it may, there was one issue. The direct current system was not an effective change over to higher or lower voltages. Tesla trusted that exchanging current as in his alternative current, which he believed to be the answer for this issue. Cycling the current made it easier for one to control the rotation of the currents which made it possible to change the overall voltage, his system made it almost effortless to be able to send out higher voltage
Like his mother, Tesla had a knack for inventing new and/or useful things. Before realizing his fascination in the electrical field, Tesla intended to specialize in mathematics and physics. Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan Ohio. He was the youngest of all 7 children. His parents were Samuel Edison, Jr. and Nancy Elliot Edison. His dad was a man that did everything, from real-estate to running the local grocery store. His mom was a teacher, but with 7 children she stayed home with the kids preparing meals and helping them with homework. When Thomas was seven years old, his family moved to Port Huron, Michigan. He was full of energy and a curious young boy.

An inventor who has turned their concept into reality is behind each and every tool. Each inventor has left an impact on the world, even long after death. However, the inventor Nikola Tesla has left a much larger legacy than most, even arguably more so than the well-renowned inventor, Thomas Edison.
He studied electrical engineering at Graz Politechnic in Graz, Austria. He then moved to Budapest to work for the American Telephone Company in 1881. He then moved to Yugoslavia, where he became chief engineer to that country's first telephone system. Later he moved to Paris to work for the Continental Edison Company. While there, he developed devices that used rotating magnetic fields, for which he later received patents.
In 1831, using his "induction ring", Faraday made one of his greatest discoveries - electromagnetic induction: the "induction" or generation of electricity in a wire by means of the electromagnetic effect of a current in another wire. The induction ring was the first electric transformer. In a second series of experiments in September he discovered magneto-electric induction: the production of a steady electric current. To do this, Faraday attached two wires through a sliding contact to a copper disc. By rotating the disc between the poles of a horseshoe magnet he obtained a continuous direct current. This was the first generator. From his experiments came devices that led to the modern electric motor, generator and transformer.
