No company has done more to democratize the computer and make it user- friendly than Apple Computer Inc. Jobs software development for the Macintosh re-introduced windows interface and mouse technology which set a standard for all applications interface in software.
Two years after building the Apple I, Jobs introduced the Apple II. The Apple II was the best buy in personal computers for home and small business throughout the following five years. When the Macintosh was introduced in 1984, it was marketed towards medium and large businesses. The Macintosh took the first major step in adapting the personal computer to the needs of the corporate work force.

Almost everyone alive has a fear of something whether it be heights, spiders or even clowns. Some people however have more serious issues with their fears, fears that follow them almost everywhere they go, these fears are called phobias. It is estimated that 4 to 5 percent of Americans have some type of phobia, which is an irrational fear of situations and certain objects. There are over 500 known phobias; a very common phobia is social phobia.
Steve’s work made him outrageously famous in popularity and fame. He emerged into the spotlight very quickly due to the co-founding of Apple Co. His popularity and fame increased over the years that he kept introducing new products for consumers to buy. Many people like to call him “once in a generation genius”. (“Steve Jobs” pg.1) In 1982 Time Magazine earlier named his apple computer as the “Machine of the Year” aside with a long profile of Jobs and then got famous for it. (Riggertj pg 1) Later he was awarded the “national Medal of Technology” by President Ronald Reagan in the category “Greatest Public Service by an individual 35 years or under”.(Riggertj pg 1) In 1989 Jobs was named “Entrepreneur of the Decade” by Inc. Those who have been diagnosed as phobics had their lives altered by submitting to the overpowering urge to avoid their fears at all costs. Facing one's fear is not the easiest thing to do, but there are newer, safer, and easier methods to tear down the false fear an object or situation has over someone. Phobias, that come from unknown origins, have a tremendous influence over the growth processes of personalities and the creation of an individual's lifestyle.
Phobias have been in existence for many years. As humans we fear things that are life threatening and unnatural. Someone who has an irrational fear of something is considered a phobia, which is an extreme illogical fear or dislike of something. Fear is a very common emotion which distinguishes from phobia regarding the severe distress someone with a phobia goes through. Fear is a rationalized and instinctive emotion that comes in response to a threatening situation. The reaction caused by fear can be managed. Phobias can hinder someone’s life. People who struggle with phobias constantly avoid the object of fear, and will do anything required not to see it. It’s hard to directly to clearly figure out the cause regarding
On October 28, 1955 William H. Gates III (nicknamed "trey") was born in Seattle. His father was a lawyer (William H. Gates II) and his mother was a schoolteacher. He also had two older sisters who were in high school when Bill was born. Bill attended a public elementary school before he moved to a private school in North Seattle named Lakeside. Lakeside's strong academics enabled Bill to actively get involved with computers (which were the love of his life next to baseball) and use his superior intellect. This was the beginning of a long and successful career in computers. Bill combined his intellect and visions of technology along with his active participation in may charities to make our world a better place.

We all have our fears, rather it be flying or driving. However, when a phobia is present the individual has extreme irrational fears that interfere with their quality of life. For example a fear of heights may limit an individuals living or employment choices. If this individual is offered the job of a lifetime, however, the office is located on the twentieth floor; they will refuse the job due to the fear of heights.
One of the major concerns is having a phobia is that it get in the way of your daily life. A phobia can prevent a person from having a normal life. Being afraid of such things as cars or computers might be a liability in anyone's everyday life. These feelings of insecurity causes people to lash out or hide into corners. People are prone to have phobias because of past experiences, but they cause a huge gape in people's livelihood. Phobias may even cause people to become detached and yet powerless to their fears. There are three kinds of phobias: simple phobia, social phobia, and panic attacks. Simple phobias, also called specific phobias, are fears of a specific thing, such as spiders or being in a closed place. Most simple phobias develop during childhood and eventually disappear. Specific phobia is a marked fear of a specific object or situation. It is a category for any phobias other than agoraphobia and social phobia. The categories of specific phobias are 1. situational phobias such as: fear of elevators, airplanes, enclosed places, public transportation, tunnels, or bridges; 2. fear of the natural environment such as: storms, water, or heights; 3. animal phobias such as: fear of dogs, snakes, insects, or mice; 4. blood-injection-injury phobia such as: fear of seeing blood or an injury, or of receiving an injection. (Wood 520).
Afraid of a place where it may be difficult to escape from? This is likely just a normal emotion of fear but, it may be Agoraphobia. “Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder that manifests as a fear of situations where escape could be difficult, or in which help would not be available if something bad were to happen.” Many people misunderstood the meaning of agoraphobia of a fear of open spaces. Agoraphobia is much more complex than that. About 1.8 million Americans over the age of 18 have agoraphobia without a history of panic disorder. Agoraphobia is listed as an anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder is when a feeling of anxiety doesn’t go away and grows worse over time. Agoraphobia often develops after having one or more panic attacks. This can lead to various fears, such as the fear of open spaces and the fear of elevators. Places that can cause agoraphobia include those that can make a person feel embarrassed, helpless, or trapped, such as crowded areas, bridges, public transport and remote areas. People who have agoraphobia are suggested to have a companion with them when going to public places. Researchers say that agoraphobia still remains unclear, but is thought that areas of the brain that control the fear response may play a role. A person with agoraphobia will commonly fear spending time alone, being in crowded places, open spaces, or small spaces, embarrassment, or of showing embarrassment, etc. They can also experience feelings besides fear which are, detachment from others, a feeling that the body is not reel, and agitation. Some people become overly dependent on others or remain housebound for long periods of time. A person with agoraphobia will also experience physical symptoms such as, chest pain, dizziness, and trembling. People who experience panic attacks may change how they act and function in everyday activities. They can become depressed and commit suicide. Some may abuse alcohol and other drugs. Those who have
Is success a stroke of luck? Are successful people born to be successful? It makes us wonder when harsh condition, circumstances or environment create factors for a person to success. Sometimes failure can be productive, it can be the push we need to move forward in life. The person I want to talk about is a hero who gave a large impact and changed the way we live. He also contributed to the society by his inventions. His name is Steve Jobs and he is the person I want to call a hero. Jobs’ large legacy resulted from a few outstanding strengths that many called it genius and he knew how to deal with problems in smart way.
This essay will assess the different categories of phobias and briefly summarize talk therapy and cognitive behavioral theories regarding attaining and maintenance of phobic disorders. A phobia is an irrational fear that creates internal feeling and apprehension, perceived as real with physiological responses such as heart palpitations, trembling and sweating. Depending upon the severity, phobias may interfere with the level of functioning in various settings: academic, occupational, or at home. It is classified under anxiety disorders with three major categories: agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder and specific phobias. Agoraphobia (AG) consists of fears of being in public places and the individuals’ ability to escape or receive help during a panic episode is limited. Individuals may initially experience one or more panic attacks that typically progress to AG. Clients become reclusive and may avoid situations that create distress and refuse to leave their home. People with AG do enter impending phobic conditions, but only with medication or when escorted by a trusted companion or therapist. They may also have also co-occurring disorders such as obsessions, substance abuse, and depression. Social anxiety disorder (also called social phobia), the most prevalent anxiety disorder, characterized by extreme self-consciousness and excessive fear of being humiliated during social situations with other people or when asked to perform. Symptoms include fear of being judged, blushing, profuse sweating, nausea and other signs of anxiety. Individuals who suffer from social anxiety have an early onset usually during childhood or adolescence. Children may exhibit clingy behaviors or become mute in certain situations.
