Elastic Bands and Hooke's Law Aim: To investigate elastic bands, whether they follow Hookes Law. Equipment: Stand, boss, G Clamp, Elastic band, ruler, weights Diagram: [IMAGE] Method: * I will setup my equipment as I have shown in my diagram. * I am going to do 3 experiments using different elastic bands. In the 1st experiment I will add masses in small amounts. * On the 2nd experiment, I will keep loading weights until near breaking point. * The 3rd experiment I will put as many masses on until it breaks. I will also record all my results on a table every 100g. * Once I have all my results I will then take the weights off 1 by 1 to see if the elastic band returns to its original form. I will only do this for the 1st and 2nd experiment. Safety: * I will have to wear goggles so when the elastic band snaps it won't flick in my eye. * I will use a G Clamp so the equipment won't fall. * I won't put my feet under the table as the weights might fall. Fair Test:
Laws such as the lever law and Euler’s Buckling Theorem come into play when testing and competition begins. A structure of wood and glue surely has much more to offer than meets the eye.
One of the best methods for determining mass in chemistry is gravimetric analysis (Lab Handout). It is essentially using the the mass of the product to figure out the original mass that we are looking for. Thus the purpose of our experiment was to compare the final mass in our reaction to the initial mass and determine the change in mass.
The objective of this experiment will be to combine various substances, liquids and metals, and to observe their behavior when they are combined. The types of reactions observed shall determine the nature of these reactions: physical or chemical.
Our machine showed physics in many ways. It used Newtons laws, collisions, and more aspects of physics. Our project showed ten different aspects in detail. This is our machine.
Next, I work out using weights to improve my chances for success in the upcoming season.
Prompt: Define Newton’s Third Law, give three effects of it, and create an experiment designed to explore one aspect of it.
As I do this experiment the thing I am going to be changing is the
In the experiment these materials were used in the following ways. A piece of Veneer wood was used as the surface to pull the object over. Placed on top of this was a rectangular wood block weighing 0.148-kg (1.45 N/ 9.80 m/s/s). A string was attached to the wood block and then a loop was made at the end of the string so a Newton scale could be attached to determine the force. The block was placed on the Veneer and drug for about 0.6 m at a constant speed to determine the force needed to pull the block at a constant speed. The force was read off of the Newton scale, this was difficult because the scale was in motion pulling the object. To increase the mass weights were placed on the top of the ...

“After 5 months of training I expect to be moderately stronger and more efficient in all areas of activity as well as see a reduction in body fat and an increase in lean body mass.”
Literature Review: Hooke’s law is the process of measuring the elastic limit of a solid object. Hooke’s law is done by getting the force which is mass times gravity equals force. After you calculate the force you must measure how far the cling wrap has stretched form the edge of the table, then you must put it in a fraction, force over the stretch of the cling wrap. Using this method, you should be able to calculate a scientific answer to how strong out of the two cling wraps will be the strongest.

When I first began to exercise, I was primarily trying to add size on to my body. At the time I only weighed about one hundred sixty pounds and I was six foot one inch. I was also eight teen and feeling that my lack of participating in school sporting events, as well as my abuse of alcohol and less than ideal food choices, had stunted my physical potential. With this new found feeling of inadequacy I set off on a journey that would change my life forever. The first thing I noticed when I began searching for ways to change my body, was that I was obviously going to have to buy weights if I wanted to look like the guys in the gym. So I set out and purchased the cheapest bench and set of weights I could find. I began to mimic exercises that I had seen people do on television or while walking past the gym. In a period of about a month I had already noticed a huge difference in the amount of weight that I could lift. Within the first year of unorganized lifting, as well as no change to my eating habits, I h...
