For this discussion we are to list and describe at least four of the qualities or traits of effective critical thinkers. I have chosen these four qualities or traits to expound on, the first being thinking actively. When thinking actively, you do not sit back waiting for something to happen. You are engaged in the process, making decisions, achieving goals, and solving problems (Chaffee, 2004). The second is, viewing situations from a different perspective. Although, thinking for yourself is very important, you can learn and profit from others who may have good ideas. For example, in politics, there are two main sides; the democrats and the republicans.
