It is critically imperative for the United States to implement immediate measures to Insure that positive proactive change within the educational system, both locally and nationally, begin now. Clearly, what is being done at this time is not only failing, it is actually failing immeasurably and making an already failing system plummet to all time critical levels of irreversible damage. Our greatest resource, our young people who are our future, are the ones that are being sacrificed and it is threatening and becoming so much more acute by our falling short in the world standing for education. Almost all educators agree that change has to come immediately, however there are too many people in power that are simply turning a blind eye to the issue. This is not acceptable for the future of our children and for the future advancement of the entire country’s social and economic growth. It is inherently clear that through a quality education positive social economic change can begin to take root. Education is even more imperative for children who come from undereducated households. These people need to endeavor to overcome poverty. Furthermore, monetary values should never influence access to knowledge, or dictate a person’s success for future endeavors. Nonetheless, money still influences people to make decisions, and blindness happens when people do not understand the value of what a quality education can do for them. Education is more than just teaching, but it is the knowledge, and wisdom that is gained that moves America and other countries alike forward. However, because of money, education becomes an afterthought. This should not be the case; money should not be an issue, and people should proactively s... ... middle of paper ... ...wer and who is to say that educational reform would even solve issues, if at all. However, it is critical that the proper reforms are implemented quickly as time marches on and the United States can no longer continue to turn a blind eye to the obvious failings and changes that have to be made. The root is that children deserve better education on that point we seem to all agree, but as long as one side or the other is blind to the factual information, then tragically, true Education Reform, or any form of improvement to insure our standing in the world then reform is simply not going to be achieved and our education will remain at a standstill. For the good of our entire society and all that we stand for it is imperative that we form a plan that will take our Country forward and provide our greatest resource, our Children, a bright and positive future.
...o think about what all this has to do with ensuring that our young adults have access to an education that is free of political influences.
As a majority, we do not act; we are complacent. We do not take a stand; we fear failure and humiliation. We do not lead; we follow. Society has increasingly grown passive, tired, and complacent. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s idea of the "appalling silence of the good people" is as poignant today as it was in the 1960s.
The first recommendation is the reform of the Senate. I agree with Sabato statement “The United States is still a federation of semi-independent entities,”(Sabato, 23) as others I am proud to be an Utahn. Every single person involved with the government has a say in our nation’s future. That being said, so do our people. One thing that must improve is our voter turnout in elections. If people want their voices to be heard, voting is the best option available. Everything that happens in politics shapes our future. The ability of the Supreme Court to review and define the Constitution and its amendments is an integral part of our future. As is protecting our civil liberties, which both of these go hand in hand. The political factor also coincides with the cultural factor. Today, we see things get very heated between different Parties and candidates. If this problem is not solved, it could be very detrimental to the United States’ future. What America truly needs is a strong, visionary leader that believes in limited government, personal freedoms and the overall greatness of American ingenuity and Can-Do spirit. Somebody that the American people can rely on to give us hope and to fight for what is right in this nation. As it stands today, our political situation is a glass half empty, but this can be changed with the right political

Education needs to become the first priority for students, teachers, and parents. Teachers should not be afraid to fail and student that did not show significant growth within his or her class. Parents should not intervene when a teacher does fail a child because of embarrassment or pride. And lastly, students must make education the most important part of his or her life. Learning needs to come before fun which, unfortunately, seems like a foreign concept to most youths today. There is so much more to gain from a proper education than just how to solve algebraic equations. When are we ever going to use this information in the real world? The answer to this question is simple, everyday.
My Philosophy Statement Education is a very important aspect of our lives. It is our education that makes us who we are and determines what we become. Therefore, education is not something to be taken lightly. As a teacher, my goal is to provide the best possible education for my students. Every student is unique and unique.
The definition of the word “educate” is: “to develop the faculties and powers of (a person) by instruction or schooling.” I believe the key word in this definition is “power.” As a teacher, I must find several ways to unleash that power in a child’s mind; I must motivate, inspire, and encourage my students. “Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire.” (William B. Yeats)
