For any new undertaking into EDMS implementation it is recommended that the organization establish a pilot plan. An area or department which would benefit from EDMS can be used it as the pilot. In addition, the organization should select a department that wants to participate, as trying to impose a pilot on unwilling and therefore uncooperative employees may hinder the effectiveness of the pilot plan. The main idea is to choose a manageable area within the department of choice and refine the practices and procedures before going company or enterprise wide. The organization will also use this time to determine how best to configure the various EDMS products to meet unique requirements. Of most importance is to configure, not change the way in which people work. The EDMS product set should be both highly configurable and extendable and in most cases will contain a superset of the functionality the organization will require. The following is not meant to be a complete procedural list, as it is meant to be indicative of the major parts of any EDMS project plan. This project plan can be considered a top level approach. A project manager following Project Management Institute (PMI) standards should be hired in order to establish a complete set of project management standards. This will most likely provide a better chance of success in the areas of time, costs, and desired results. Executive approval is the first step. If the project manager does not have the approval and buy-in of senior management, the organization will be wasting time, money, and other resources. The selection of the pilot area needs to be established as both needy and willing and one which can demonstrate immediate benefits of an EDMS implementation. The selecti... ... middle of paper ... ... done with a sample set of data and the project team reviews the results. This process continues until everyone is satisfied. At this stage, all the EDMS components are installed, configured, extended, and tested. A date is set for the ‘go live’ date and the existing ‘old’ data is captured and processed by the conversion program/process. The converted data is validated, signed off, and adjustments are made if necessary. The final fruition of all the stages for the EDMS project is complete and is time to roll it out and go live. The now fully trained users begin using the system. At this point, team members should be aware that daily meetings for the first week. then weekly for the next three weeks, and then again in three months time may need to be included in the budget in order to review progress and to see how well the EDMS meets the organization's objectives.

When a new system is implemented, an initial setback is always a major hurdle to overcome. In case of E-health the hurdle is the initial training provided to the staff as this can significantly decrease the productivity of the staff. A study conducted by the University of California-Davis found a 25-33 percent drop in physician productivity in the initial implementation phases of the EMR. While ultimately the goal is to increase productivity in the office or hospital, expect to see a significant drop in productivity, and ultimately revenue, in the first several weeks, and perhaps longer. Some individuals may not have the ability or be familiar with the use of computers in which the human resource department must accommodate accordingly in assuring that they complete the training. Six months after the initial training human resources must survey employees on their perceived outcome of the initiative.
To ensure Tektronix's success, the ERP implementation was divided into five manageable sub-groups: (1) Financials, (2-4) Order Management/Accounts Receivable (OMAR) in the three divisions, and (5) the global rollout. Within the sub-groups, additional waves were created to ease into the system. For both the Financials and OMAR, Tektronix decided to implement the new system in the United States first. Though the ultimate goal was for location to be irrelevant in the system and processes required for an order to be completed, it was important that the company see the added-value of the implementation as it proceeded.

described the ERP system as packaged (but customisable) software applications, which manage data from various organizational activities and provide a fully integrated solution to major organizational data management problems. They provide for both the core administrative functions, such as human resource management and accounting, as well as integrated modules which can be selected to support key business processes, such as warehousing, production and client management.
When you think about, it shouldn’t a business have the same kind of single point of control? Enterprise Resource Planning Software provides the level of oversight and control that is absolutely necessary for you, as a manager or owner, to make sure that all of your resources are all working towards the same goal. The hard part is choosing an ERP system that works for your company. No two manufacturers run exactly the same way, and similarly no two ERP systems run exactly the same way. So it’s important to research the product and the vendor to make certain that you select the right system for your business. You’ve got to have a system that fully integrates all aspects of running your manufacturing business, offers advanced features and options but is intuitive and easy to use so employees can grasp hold quickly, and adapts to the way you do business rather than forcing you to adapt to the software.
Enterprise architecture can be used in a diverse number of ways. It can be used to describe a certain business practice in an organization and the aspects or elements of that specific business practice under description. The environment under which companies or business organizations operate in is always in constant change. This means that the managers should always introduce new enterprise solutions, which can directly contribute to the linkage to the measures of improvement of business practices.
When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.

Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects. A successful project manager ensure that an organization’s resources are being used both efficiently and effectively. Most projects need to be uniquely developed require a sense of customization and the ability to adapt to any posed challenges. The scope of effective project management includes defining what the project is and what is being expected to be accomplished. Projects are imposed to fulfill a certain need and project managers must have the ability to create the proper definition. Goals and the means used to attain those goals have to be clearly stated. Project Managers must also have the ability to plan
