If you could write a book that takes place thirty years in the future, how would you do it? Well, Ray Bradbury describes how he sees humanity in the future with his very successful novel: The Martian Chronicles. This novel was first published in the 1950, meaning that the story took place almost 50 years in the future. I got to read the updated version which was published in 1997, so the stories that I read take place about 33 years in the future. The Martian Chronicles is a novel filled with many short stories and inter chapters all linked together. This stories narrate the colonizations of Mars by people fleeing from planet Earth. Earth is described as unstable planet with nuclear meltdowns and huge radiations zones due to nuclear war. This causes humans to take over a new planet, which in this case is Mars. Bradbury originally published mini science fiction stories during the 1940s. This story were later put together with extra material to create this sensational novel. Bradbury sets the novel in a time very distant from the present so he could use the ideas of new technology such as rocket ships, landings on Mars and many more advance technology that were just ideas during the 1950s. Still, it’s quite peculiar how he didn’t set the time very far enough were we still wouldn't have figured out some of those pressing present global-civilization issues: nuclear war. In this essay I will be talking about the physical setting Ray Bradbury created and how he was able to adapt it to the story and describe it as best as he could. I will talk how setting is related to the author. I will also talk about the primary locations in the novel and how realistic where they. Finally I will discuss how the main characters fit in the main setting...

So in conclusion this is actually one of my favorite books right now. It’s full of futuristic events and creativity. The author did a great job in describing every single event and detail. It gives you a great image of this fictional world that he explains very meticulously. It’s a superior work written by a very skillful authors. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a huge fan of futuristic fiction and if you are that type of person that believes that there is life in other planets. The setting is very well written and described leaving you with a great reading experience.
I found this book to be a rather interesting read. I enjoyed how Levathes researched this book and wrote it to try to explain about this specific period of time and how it is very non-fiction.
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
I would recommend this book to people who love realistic stories. Personally for me it is hard to find books that interest me and this one felt like if I was watching someone else's life while I read it. It has so many interesting points. When you think something might happen
This book is a very interesting read, if you have some self discipline. I mean that you need some self discipline because this book didn’t really captivate me in the sense that I couldn’t put it down. But after reading it for a while, I started to appreciate the author’s way of describing the characters and actions in this book.
I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys historical fiction books where the characters learn life-altering lessons. I also feel that people of all ages would enjoy this book because it’s messages and theme was very positive. While I did enjoy this book, I think I will not be reading another historical fiction novel for my upcoming book response.
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
This is my personal reflection about this book. First and foremost, I would like to say that this book is very thick and long to read. There are about nineteen chapters and 278 pages altogether. As a slow reader, it is a quite hard for me to finish reading it within time. It took me weeks to finish reading it as a whole. Furthermore, it is written in English version. My English is just in average so sometimes I need to refer to dictionary for certain words. Sometimes I use google translate and ask my friends to explain the meaning of certain terms.
In the book The Martian by Andy Weir, Mark Watney is thought to be dead and left on Mars after a sandstorm during Sol 6. Mark has to survive with what’s left on mars and through many obstacles and tribulations in his fight to survive. The way Mark’s character broadens from start to finish shows that Mark is witty, rational, and driven.
The Martian is a story that involves a visit to the mars, and after that, the astronauts come out of the Mars leaving behind Mark Watney who his real name is Matt Damon. The team assumed Mark was dead after a strong storm. He tried to survive with the remains of the supplier till he was able to launch his way back to the Earth (MacIsaac, 2015). The story is represented in the Novel, and a movie and these two platforms have some similarities and differences. The movie is the representation of what is happening in the book. Therefore, not everything that it is in the book is covered in the one and half film, therefore several scenarios are left out.
have chosen it for my report. Finally, I will give my reactions to the novel
In the chapter “There Will Come Soft Rains”, the year was 2026. An atomic war had already occurred and the McClellan family understood the outcome when technology got out of control especially with the Great War that followed the atomic war. It was said that Earthmen had a talent for ruining beautiful things, and for science to run too far ahead of them, too quickly, and the people soon got lost in a mechanical wilderness. (Gallagher 201). In hopes of a new life, the family decided to move to Mars and forget all the laws and principles they had followed on Earth.
I would definitely recommend this book for a friend to read! I really liked this books cause it has lots of action in it and when there isn’t any action happening, it’s just building up to some more action. I also liked this book because you really get to know the characters and everything is very detailed, especially the war scenes. The most important reason I like this book has to be because of all the action.
All in all, this novel is a good read, so long as the reader takes the time to think about everything that goes into it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and believe it to be one of the best books I have ever read. It was extremely well written and challenging for me to understand at times. It conveys that dark side of human ambition very well, and it has given me much to think about.
I enjoyed the book because the scenarios are very well described so the reader can clearly imagine the events in their mind.
