Counting By Sevens written by Holly Goldberg Sloan. The genre of Counting By 7’s is realistic fiction. Counting By Sevens is about a girl named Willow Chance, a twelve year old genius. She loves nature and medical conditions. She also loves counting by 7’s. One day, after her counseling session, she arrives home where there is two police officers. They tell Willow your parents are dead. Her friend’s mother decides to take her in temporally while they find a foster home. I would recommend this book to people who love realistic stories. Personally for me it is hard to find books that interest me and this one felt like if I was watching someone else's life while I read it. It has so many interesting points. When you think something might happen
it happens not in the way you think. My favorite part was when everyone was having good luck. It was great knowing Jairo got into college and winning a prize to get him into the college. Dell lost weight and got his life together. Quang-ha does better in school. Willow life is slowly coming together thanks to her seven great friends. The character I like the most is Mia. She stands up to anyone. She helps her mother and brother. I like her attitude but at the sametime I don’t. I would not like her to bring a stranger I have never met and tell to “adopt” someone i dont know The Life lesson I learned was that even though sometimes things go wrong you aren’t alone. Willow had all these wonderful people come to her life and she was like there Lucky Charm. At the end everyone was happy and their lives had changed in a positive way. She might have lost her biological parents and first adoptive parents but most importantly she got a family. Willow Chance even got a family that loved her and she got to siblings, and two great friends. With all that I would recommend this book. I personally would give it 4 stars.
I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...

My picture contrasts the dark, sharp, menacing objects with the light, calm, serenity of the hand. Using Molly Bang’s ten principles, I was able to depict this evil and suspenseful moment from the story, "Sleeping Beauty." Molly Bang’s ten principles teach us how to illustrate moments from stories or poems with abstract shapes and basic colors. By applying these principles, any emotion can be expressed.
Lauren Alleyne uses the rigid form of the sonnet to navigate through the healing process after being sexually assaulted. Ten years after that night, she writes the sonnet sequence Eighteen, which deviates from the typical sonnet form in the aspects of the speaker, subject, and format. Playing off of the standard sonnet form, Alleyne is able to recount the emotions of that night during the first sonnet in the sequence. The typical sonnet tends to objectify the female body or one’s lover; in this sequence, the sonnets address what happens when an individual acts on these objectifications and assaults Alleyne. Alleyne deviates from the standard subject and speaker of the typical sonnet form to begin the healing process; the process begins

In the story “Eleven” by Sandra Cisneros, it follows a girl named Rachel as she talks about growing up and becoming an eleven-year-old. By using details, imagery, and language, the author creates a character with many different emotions that get the reader’s attention and creates a compelling story.
I would recommend to read some of his other books. If I could rate this book it would be a five out of five. In this book there are exciting parts, sad parts and happy parts. For example an exciting part was when the ghost chased Christina and Uncle Ralph. One sad part in the book is when Christina found out the boy was murdered. There were many happy parts in this book one of the examples are when they get a way from the evil ghost and find the missing stamps. I was very surprised that the Russel Charles stole the stamps from the baby sitter because I thought that the baby sitter could run or catch Russel because he is way faster and stronger. This is a great mystery with many exciting
Did you like the book? would you recommend this book to others? Why or why
I think my favorite thing about this novel was the realistic ending. Some books try to just give you a fairy tale but this book had an ending that mad you think in the end if I was in the same position would I do the same thing. I didn’t like the fact that the novel portrayed mental illness in a way to say that it needed to be hidden and protected. I thought this novel was very believable for the time period that it was set in. I think the ending to this novel was perfect it was an accurate ending to this
If someone were to ask me whether or not they should read this book I would tell them to definitely read it but to be patient because most of the action does not take place until close to the end of the story. I was impressed with the humor that Atwood displays but also the drama that affects humanity. I will probably look into reading some of her other books to see what other novels she has produced and see what she had to offer.
In the story “The Help” written by Kathryn Stockett we are taken back in time to Jackson, Mississippi in August of 1962, were we meet three women by the name of Aibileen, Minny and Skeeter. Aibileen and Minny are black women who work for white families as the help. Skeeter is a young white woman in her early twenties who befriends the other two and gets them to tell their stories of what its is like to be the help. The reluctantly hesitate, but eventually give in knowing that the stories they are telling are more important than the negative impact it could have on their lives.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and believe it to be one of the best books I have ever read. It was extremely well written and challenging for me to understand at times. It conveys that dark side of human ambition very well, and it has given me much to think about.
I recently finished reading a book by Rachel Ward titled “Numbers”. It is an extremely thought provoking novel as there is something unique about the protagonist. Dates appear in her mind when she looks into someone’s eyes; dates predicting death. As a child Jem constantly saw the same number when she looked at her mother, but only realized what the dates meant the day her mother died. Jem became a foster child at the tender age of six, and since then she grew up to be a very isolated person.
