The computational innovation that is represented by the computational artifact is drone delivery. Drone delivery is intended to efficiently deliver packages to reduce current costs of delivery. The artifact demonstrates a visualization of what drone delivery helps with in the future. It contains an example of an upcoming drone delivery; Amazon Prime Air, surrounded by images that represents its purpose (fuel reduction, eco-friendly, fast, efficient, and cost efficient).
2b) I created my artifact using PowerPoint. First, I inserted an example of drone delivery. The example I used was Amazon Prime Air. Then, I proceed to surround it with images and icons of the purpose of the innovation. I used icons like a stopwatch to represent its efficiency, a piggy

Instead of making a full run to the department store to pick up a single item, you can receive just within 30 minutes of ordering it. It also allows delivery drivers to save time by just having them delivers the bulk items instead of having to spend time to go each house to deliver a small, five pound item. With less packages having to be delivered, many delivery drivers can potentially lose their jobs, thus creating a higher unemployment rate. If inventors decided on using solar power or even battery powered drones in order to deliver the drones will need fuel in order to operate, whereas delivery trucks do. Therefore, we will save money on the money for fuel and help the environment at the same time. On the other hand, many will not make enough money or essentially lose their jobs as well due to the lower demand of fuel. In the future, if people become dependent on the use drone delivery then, it will have a huge impact on people, definitely when the dependency is removed from us. The people may not be as motivated to go grocery shopping if shipping grocery becomes an option. By having drones ship directly to our houses, we are including more
Which means it will deliver the items on the time. Humans make mistakes or deliver the wrong package, the machines don’t. The machines only follow the instructions and only do what is instructed to them. Also, humans get tired, machines don’t. Usage of delivery drones will definitely reduce the human labor force, which could be for better or worse.... ...

...ng luxury, not many people want to wait two weeks to receive their product. When an item is ordered, it is needed immediately, and if it is received immediately then it not only improve the relationship to the customer. But it will also add value to the purchase which makes that customer that much more likely to buy the product again in the future, as opposed to your competitors. If you have customers in remote areas you do not have the luxury to send their shipment in a large batch of items, you must pay more to have that item shipped individually, which is costing more money.
The parcel service industry is dominated by four carriers that make up 95 percent of the industries domestic revenue. Over the years, the industry has had an increase growth rate over time and an increased role in the economy. This is due to the way manufacturing companies are now operating. With the growth of the parcel service ...

All choices made by Seven-Eleven are structured to lower its transportation and receiving costs. For example, its area-dominance strategy of opening at least 50 to 60 stores in an area helps with marketing but also lowers the cost of replenishment. All manufacturing facilities are centralized to get the maximum benefit of capacity aggregation and also lower the inbound transportation cost from the manufacturer to the distribution center (DC). Seven-Eleven also requires all suppliers to deliver to the DC where products are sorted by temperature. This reduces the outbound transportation cost because of aggregation of deliveries across multiple suppliers. It also lowers the receiving cost. The information infrastructure is set up to allow store managers to place orders based on analysis of consumption data. The information infrastructure also facilitates the sorting of an order at the DC and receiving of the order at the store. The key point to emphasize here is that most decisions by Seven-Eleven are structured to aggregate transportation and receiving to make both cheaper.
Some of the most common misconceptions about drones arise due to the lack of knowledge about what drones are. A drone is a remote controlled, pilotless aircraft that can be used to survey an area, conduct stealth missions, and deliver supplies into difficult to reach areas (Drone). Unmanned aircrafts are also, contrary to popular belief, not solely machines that kill without even a thought to who is being fired upon. They have proved to be effective surveillance units in areas that may be dangerous for manned aircrafts to fly, along with the potential to be reliable delivery units (Drones). With the new delivery capabilities, the time it takes for packages to be delivered across long distances could be cut down to a matter of hours...
Another name for drones are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS). These are “aircraft either controlled by ‘pilots’ from the ground or increasingly, autonomously following a pre-programmed mission” (Cole 4). Even though there are many unique types of drones, but they usually fall under two main categories: ones that are armed and equipped with missiles and bombs and others that are used for surveillance. In the past couple of years the use of drones has increased dramatically. The reason being because “unlike manned aircraft they can stay aloft for many hours and are flown remotely so there is no danger to the flight crew” (Cole 13). There are drones that can actually fly over more than fifty hours. In countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq, the Predator and U.S Reaper are physically there. Cause of the power of technology th...
The company also localized its fulfilment platform in India by introducing Easy Ship and Seller Flex. With the former, Amazon couriers pick up packaged goods from a seller’s place of business and deliver them to consumers. With the latter, vendors designate a section of their own warehouses for products to be sold on Amazon.in, and Amazon coordinates the delivery logistics. This “neighbourhood” approach is convenient for sellers and has benefited Amazon by speeding up delivery of some
One of the reasons the government is using drones instead of other methods, is because they are cheap. The government prefers to use these cheaper machines in war, traumatizing people all around the world, not just in the attacked areas, scaring children to the point where they do not want to leave the house in fear, rather than using other methods of war. Other people believe these drones will save the lives of innocent people and civilians, as stated in source A “A drone strike can kill a person in one room of a house and spare the lives of people in other rooms. Their precision means there's less of a chance of innocent civilians being killed.” This is not all true though, even though these machines are really accurate, many civilians and innocent people have been killed by drones, for example, “A new report from British human rights group Reprieve suggests that, based on available evidence, as many as 1,147 people in Yemen and Pakistan, including children, were killed in the U.S. drone strikes…” (Source I) Source K also states that “According to a meta-study of drone strikes, between 8 to 17% of all people killed in drone strikes are civilians.” As one can see from this information, drones are not as good as people believe they are, they can be worse than other methods of
There are pros and cons of using drones around the world. One pro of having drones and surveillance the crime rate should have a significant drop. "The reason why crime would go down would be because people who commit crimes are more likely to get caught. Depending what type of drone it is you could attack a speaker or microphone and speak through it."
Once the item is ordered it’ll be delivered straight to the customers house making it less admin then driving to the shops and having to manually pay and look for the item.
Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS) are controlled via two ways which are by pilots from ground or by a self directed pre-programmed mission. Cole and Wright (2010) identify that having various types, drones basically meant to serves the following two purposes:
Should countries be allowed to use drones in modern countries? Since the installment of drones in warfare, the unmanned aerial combat vehicle has proven to be quite an effective tool. Nowadays, the efficiency of drones has overpowered the opposing arguments since it has more pros than cons. By defining the importance to keep military personnel safe, by providing coherent data on civilian lives, and by refuting the significance of drones to keep terrorism at bay, one will be enlightened to see that drones are the way of the future.
