Imagine sitting in your car one Friday afternoon. Rain is pouring hard on your windshield as you rest with your foot on the brake with miles of taillights in your sight. The day is Christmas Eve. You are on your way home from work to see your family that you planned to meet at your parents for the Holidays. Restless, eager, frustrated that you have been sitting in the same spot for the past ten minutes and no word of what is going on, you hear the distinct sound of a motorcycle about to fly by your driver window. Up ahead, you see a car trying to change lanes that the biker can’t see due to the rain on his mask. You see it coming; but it is too late. The biker collides into the driver side of the car sending the bike through the car doors. The biker flies from his bike and lands in the bed of a truck using his head to break his fall. In just a few seconds, you witness two people killed of an accident that should have never happened. This case may be a worst case scenario, but realistic to those who have lost in situations like these. Now, not only do you have to wait for the traffic in front of you to clear up, you now are concerned and shocked about what happened in front of your eyes. Could you have done anything? Drivers of motorcycles are in some of the most dangerous seats on the road for many …show more content…
If we keep allowing motorcycles to drive through lanes, the long term result may be the higher marketing of bikes. From experience, bikers say that California drivers are so used to sharing the road with others that most even pull to the edge of the lane to let them pass while very few are hesitant (Vaughn, 2007). When drivers are moving aside to allow the bike to pass, there are several elements that come to play. The roads may seem safer that the cars are moving over, but in fact, the blame is now placed on the car if an accident occurs thus lowering the amount of bicycle related
The operator she take a training If one is properly equipped and following the laws than it should be a safe ride. But with anything there is risk involved so to resolve this are we going to take cars off the road because people keep running into each other or band motorcycles because if they get hit there chance of survival is very small. No we have allowed all these items on are public roads because people are willing to take the risk every time one gets in there car and turns the key they are taking a risk not just for them but the ones that share the road with ‘‘ATVs are dangerous motorcycles are dangerous cars can be very dangerous but using the vehicle in a safe manner and proper education and training on how to maneuver the machine and using right speeds is key’’(bowman) as you can see from the reasoning above ATVs can and should be legalized on public roads. they are a more convenient way to get around and tour the state.
Dangers on roadways is an issue that describes the discrepancy between perception and reality of road rage. The media, for some odd reason, tends to make road rage a huge controversial issue. As seen on talk shows from Oprah Winfrey to CNN, they reveal to people that road rage could happen at any time and to always be looking over your shoulder. These talk shows and news programs also put fear into our minds by explaining that most roadragers often use guns to kill or injure their victims. Glassner contradicts the media's speculations by stating that out of approximately 250,000 people killed on roadways between 1990-1997, AAA attributed that one in one thousand was an act of road rage (pg.5).

Millions of people all over the United States choose motorcycles over automobiles for the thrill, speed, and high performance capabilities. On the other hand, motorcycles are not at all the safest way of transportation. Motorcycles do not provide the passenger with the outer protection that cars provide, therefore, when one crashes, the results are usually much more serious. Injuries to the head are responsible for 76% of fatalities when dealing with motorcycle crashes many of which could have been prevented had the rider been wearing a helmet. For this reason, many states have adopted the motorcycle helmet law. The law states that every passengers must wear a helmet at all times when riding on a motorcycle. This law has created a great deal of controversy. One side supports the law, believing that it protects motorcyclists from danger and saves the economy a great deal of money. The other side argues that the law is unconstitutional and it violates our right to freedom. However, statistics show overwhelming support in favor of the motorcycle helmet law. Although wearing helmets cannot prevent motorcycle crashes, they can greatly reduce the number of deaths caused by head injury as well as lowering taxes, insurance rates, and health care costs. Therefore, the helmet law should be put into effect in every state across the United States.
Throughout our lives, we carry and value our own beliefs. As we face different challenges, we may be persuaded into making certain choices. However, no matter how convincing a person may be, in the end we always have the last word. Nobody likes being told what to do but we do like to hear other opinions for a different perspective. The proper way of using rhetoric is through a confident tone that is knowledgeable of their topic. The speaker should have integrity and be selfless in the sense that they are understanding towards their audience.

Argumentative Essay Climbing is very dangerous, luckily there is a way that climbers can make climbing safer. They should pack everything they will need such as: proper equipment, warm clothes, and ropes. Judgement is also responsible for some accidents when people think that can do it. Also the environment plays a big part in rock climbing.
It starts with just a moment of tailgating, or maybe the guy in front of you cut you off or wouldn’t let you into the fast lane. In some cases it appears that incidents of road rage are caused by simple misunderstandings between drivers. A driver may make a momentary error of judgment but the perception of another driver is that he or she is driving aggressively. Then suddenly it turns into World War III on the highway. It matters little what causes it; a bad day at the office, a love affair going bad, credit cards maxed to the credit limit. All it takes is a sudden movement of someone else’s wheels, and within seconds a normally mild mannered motorist is consumed with a red-eyed, mouth-foaming surge of anger that grabs more of us every day. Road Rage, something that has always simmered on the back burner of motoring America, is now going off like fireworks.

The major cause of aggressive driving is the discourteous or inattentive driver. Driving behaviors include changing lanes to closely, tailgating and "the number one cause is the left lane hog." (Larson 1) These seemingly small errors infuriate the potentially aggressive driver and cause a transformation indescribable to man kind. Reduced law enforcement, highway traffic, the growing congestion is cities, and personal issues play a large role in the disposition of the aggressive driver. Then the angry driver may demonstrate his or her displeasure by speeding around the other vehicle, cutting the other car off, and or with a number of verbal and non-verbal messages. Though the driver may feel justified in his or her action, but the display in most times is very dangerous and often will result in damage to one or both cars involved.

People ride bicycles for various reasons. Some people ride bicycles for sport, fitness purposes, as a mode of transportation, fun activity, and some people ride bikes to simply relax and clear their mind after a long day. Regardless of the reason you ride, it is important to know the factors that contribute to bicycle and helmet safety.
