I feel that the writer followed their outline and continued to add interesting facts involving the zoo along the way. I believe the writer made a good transition from paragraph to paragraph but telling about a new “area” or “animal” and using transition words such as: “In addition to”, “In another section”, “On one end of the zoo”, and “Down the trail” so that the reader is able to follow that the writer has moved on to another section of the zoo.

The introduction effectively lets me know what the subject of the paper was going to be about, the Toledo Zoo, and her experiences visiting the zoo, since childhood, and into her adult years. The writer mentions that her family always purchased a membership to the zoo growing up, and she continues to purchase a membership as an adult. By giving examples of her experiences and feelings about visiting the zoo during childhood, she shows what an educational and great experience it was. I have very fond memories, as a child, going to the zoo and I couldn’t wait to read more to compare our experiences. Also, I have never been to another zoo in Ohio and I wanted to read more information on additional zoos. The only thing that left me hanging was, I believe, one of the purposes of the paper was to convince the reader to obtain a membership to the zoo. It is mentioned several times, but no additional information is given. Such as: the cost, what the cost involves (like unlimited admission? Parking? Special Events for members only? Early admission to members? And so on). A lot of people may go to the zoo once a year and then never return until the following year. I believe by providing more information on the benefits to having a membership (convince me why I should spend that kind of money to visit more than once a year instead of regular price) would be more
