We face the challenge of having more people coming out and saying they have been victims, having more ways for people to get out of a violent relationship. As a society people need to understand that domestic violence is a problem and it is not the victims fault. We often blame the victim instead of blaming the person committing the crime. By spreading awareness about what signs to look for in people that could lead to domestic violence and how to get help when they are being abused can help combat domestic violence.
