Discuss the techniques Harper Lee uses in Chapter 15 to create Tension. This essay will a brief explanation on how Harper Lee creates tension. I will also show the different techniques Lee used to show tension such, as action, speech and description. Tension can be when there is a friction between two or more parties. This could be when nobody knows what to say to each other, like meeting for the first time, creating a nervous atmosphere. Tension can also be when someone is stressed or anxious about something that has just happened or is going to happen, like an exam in school. Being put in an awkward situation, such as being in the middle of an argument, not knowing which way to turn or who’s side to take, can put you under a lot of pressure creating tension. The first ...

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen. You know Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was misperceived at first. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names, but after he led Santa’s sleigh, they loved him. Misperceptions like this happen all throughout Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. As you read the novel you see original judgments made about characters transform into new conceptions and new understandings. Some characters twist your views of them on purpose, others do it involuntarily. To Kill a Mockingbird shows this happening over and over again. All you have to do is look for it.

In today's society we are told all the time to look at things from other people's perspectives and see what it would be like to walk a mile in their shoes. In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird Harper Lee uses characters throughout the book to emphasize that point. She uses characters’ age and perspective to give the readers all different points of view towards people.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is a story of national magnitude that contains complex characters. Harper Lee deals with the emotions and spirits of the characters insightfully. A few of these characters display courage at one point or another in the story. These flashes of courage come during turbulent times of the story, and often led to success.
To Kill A Mockingbird is a cultural and classic novel wrote by Harper Lee. A connection people believe is that the novel is based off of Harper Lee’s childhood. There are reasons to believe that there is a connection between the book and the author's life.
Nelle Harper Lee, the famous author of the worldwide bestseller To Kill a Mockingbird, was born April 28th, 1926, to Amasa Coleman (a lawyer) and Frances Lee. At the time, the family lived in Monroeville, Alabama. Harper’s family was somewhat wealthy, and they lived in upper middle class society most of their lives. Harper’s birth name, Nelle, was her grandmother’s spelled backwards (Ellen). However, in her publications, she took her middle name, Harper, to avoid being known as “Nellie”. But what numerous people have never heard - and many would be shocked to know - is that one windy, rainy night, Harper threw all her unpublished manuscripts of To Kill a Mockingbird out the window! Fortunately, she soon realized what she had done, and called over her editor, Tay Hohoff, to assist her. Hohoff sent her out in the snow and slush to retrieve her pages, which luckily had not fallen far away. But one would wonder: what would have happened if she had done the same on a slightly windier night?

Despite the idea of humans functioning on a dysfunctional system, there may still be some objections arguing for the goodness of these factors or how we are looking at the problem from an incorrect lens. One such a response could be that the mind and dysfunctional system are two separate things, and rather than this situation being purely mental processes, it could be a physical response. By thinking of the mind as a racecar driver and the system as a racecar with a blown-out tire it can be shown that humans are still perfectly functional, but the problem exists in the vehicle. While the driver may desire to steer the car in one direction, that broken wheel causes the car to go into a different direction. Therefore, the whole situation can

Texas Hold’em “Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous,” Confucius. How do people learn? A common answer is: from their mistakes. What happens when you are in a situation that has risk in it? How do you cope with the fact that you can make the wrong choice and mess up?
...our body is telling you something and you have no choice but listen. You can’t listen to someone when you’re in pain or have to go to the bathroom. Just recently I had such bad shoulder pain that I was seeing stars. I thought I had slept wrong, but the pain was getting worse daily, I couldn’t turn my neck. When people tried to talk to me, I couldn’t hear what they had to say, I just wanted whoever was talking to fuck off and die. I found out I have severe arthritis in my neck. It wasn’t my shoulder at all. It’s under control now, but when I was in that kind of pain I didn’t want to talk to anyone and I didn’t want to listen to anyone.
