Digital Forensics Analyst
According to Study.com, a digital forensic analysts is someone who collects information from digital devices as part of legal investigation. Computer forensics analysts combine their computer science background with their forensic skills to recover information from storages devices and computers. The analysts are responsible to assisting the law enforcement officers with cyber crimes and they also retrieve evidence that way. Computer forensic analysts usually hold a bachelors in computer science with a background in criminal justice. Some other things that they need to have is to be Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certificate according to Study.com.

They use their technical skills to hunt for files and information that have been hidden, deleted or lost. They also help detectives and other officials analyze data and evaluate its relevance to the case under investigation (Study.com). Analysts also transfer the evidence into a format that can be used for legal purposes like criminal trials and often testify in court themselves. The website, Study.com, says that there are many analysts that have to be familiar with standard computer operating systems, networks and hardware as well as security software and document-creation applications. In the website, Study.com, says that the analysts must have expertise in hacking and intrusion techniques as well as prior experiences with security testing and computer system diagnostics. Cyber Degree also says that the analysts prepare evidence for trial, give expert counsel to attorneys about electronic evidence in a case, advise law enforcement on the credibility of acquired data, provide expert testimony at court proceedings, train law enforcement officers on computer evidence procedures, keep alongside emerging technologies, software and methodologies, stay proficient in forensic, response and reverse engineering skills. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) are a few other agencies that also employ criminal profilers. Although there are other employers that hire criminal profilers, the FBI is the most prominent. In order to be considered as a potential member of these programs, having an advanced degree in behavioral or forensic science is recommended. However, the most important qualification is an agent’s overall experience as an investigator of violent crimes. John Douglas, a famous FBI profiler, believes that “degrees and academic knowledge [are] not nearly as important as experience and certain subjective qualities” (Muller 250).
Forensic scientists work in labs where they examine, identify, and interpret evidence collected in crime scenes. Crime scene investigators collect evidence and pass it to a forensic scientist who uses the items in numerous ways to help catch criminals. Forensic scientists must also record the evidence and any tests ran on it in detail to prove the truth in court. A forensic scientist also has to be able to present his or her physical evidence verbally in court, so a strong communication background is important.
Major Crime Scene Forensic Investigation Processing and analyzing crime scenes is a given responsibility to Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) where investigators must collect, preserve, examine, and present evidence -whether it's physical, trace, biological, or drug evidence. Investigators impound evidence that are to be analyzed to evaluate the leading suspect. A Crime scene investigator refers to a specialist whose principal job is to identify, collect, and retrieve physical evidence from the crime scene or to a detective or investigator who has the primary duty of collecting and preserving physical evidence. I will focus more on the forensic side of the investigation and dwell on the significance of evidence.

During many years of practicing digital forensics with often seen how difficult it is for legal practitioners, who often have limited time, to get to grips with the complexities of electronic evidence. Digital forensics, sometimes known as digital forensic science is a branch of computer forensic science encompassing the recovery and investigation of material found in digital devices, often in relation to computer cyber crime. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) working environments are experiencing increased computer use for other than work-related reasons. User activities may include but are not limited to browsing the Internet for private purposes and using online search engines for work-related information.
