Some people think you have to photograph your subject in front of a blue or green screen first. An ordinary white background will do. It's easier and faster to extract the photo if the first background is a solid color. Using a green or blue is called green screen photography, but that's another topic all together.
The Big Advantage:
One big advantage of using digital backgrounds is that it gives your photographs a unique touch of creativity that makes them stand out from the crowd. It allows you to place your subject in front of any kind of background, in any location, for a shot that, if taken on location, would be very expensive and difficult to coordinate.
Low Cost To Get Started:
Another advantage of using digital backgrounds is its low cost to get into. This is great for photographers who are just starting out and don't have a lot to spend, yet it will give you an advantage over other photographers and provide your clients with something special that they can't get without going to a large
The intermix of a great literary work into a modern production is not a new concept, but the use of digital enhancement to carry a theme was unheard of prior to the making of this film. Both Director of Photography Roger Deakens, and Business Development Director Sarah Priestnall from Kodak, helped to explain that the digital process used is the modification of the film at the pixel level, in which the film is digitized frame by frame and each frame is color matched to allow for manipulation. The mastering process was done in the film developing...
Making a cyanotype for the first time was a fun experience. A cyanotype is blueprint (literally) that makes a silhouette of the object. It was an early kind of photograph that was created by John Herschel (Stulik, 4). As I learned the process of making the cyanotype and made two prints myself, I noticed that it is similar as taking a picture with a camera when it comes to their uses and processes
Pete Goettner, one of the founders of DigitalThink, was growing up in a business environment having his father as the owner of a too-and-die company. Yet, he had no interest in taking over his father’s company. He was, instead, fascinated by video games which were not popular at that time and wondered how computer games worked because he didn’t have any computer courses nor a single desktop for students to use in his high school.
Technological advances have definitely been made the past decades. Some have been extremely helpful; however, they’ve also been detrimental. There have actually been research that show’s that our technology is in fact making our brain retain less memory. According to the independent “A recent study (you've probably forgotten it by now) suggests 90 per cent of us are suffering from digital amnesia. More than 70 per cent of people don't know their children's phone numbers by heart, and 49 per cent have not memorized their partner's number. While those of us who grew up in a landline-only world may also remember friends' home numbers from that era, we are unlikely to know their current mobiles, as our phones do the job. The Kaspersky Lab concludes
Photography has been around for nearly 200 years and has advanced dramatically with the new technology. In 1826, when the first photograph was taken photography was a very basic art form, but soon after photographers figured out how to manipulate their photos. In today’s society, it is almost unheard of to look at photographs that are raw and unedited, but has it always been this way? Dating back to the first photograph in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce, photography seemed to be raw, but only a few decades after those photographers discovered they could alter their photos to make them more appealing (“Harry Ransom Center”). Over the past 200 years photos of all different subjects have been manipulated through history and technology seems to be the culprit.
The topic of technology and our society has become a very controversial subject today. Many people believe that technology is an essential component of our modern world, helping us to improve communication from farther distances as well as giving us easy access to important information. On the other hand, there is the opinion that too much technology is affecting social interactions and our basic development. “Technology…is a queer thing, it brings you great gifts with one hand, and stabs you in the back with the other.” (Carrie Snow.) The CBC Documentary “Are We Digital Dummies” displayed the pros and cons when it comes to modern technology that we use in the western world everyday.
In Lev Manovich’s What is Digital Cinema, he states that “traditional film technology is universally being replaced by digital technology.” (Manovich, 178) This is indeed true. Digital technology is changing video games as well. Both films and video games depend on each other. Film studios and video game developers remediate each other’s product to maximize profits. Filmmakers, cinematographers, directors, actors and composers often work on video games. The two industries use the same technology. Both medias tell interrelated stories in both narrative worlds, which Jenkins calls it, transmedia storytelling. Transmedia storytelling is an approach that reconfigures the entire media experience. Video games that are based on films allow the players to interact with the characters that are seen in the film by manipulating the console’s controller.
I am writing to submit my essay “(s) Melting Pot?” It is a look at the current Syrian Immigration crisis that is erupting. Specifically, it looks at the positions for and against the acceptance of Syrian immigrants in Europe, The United States, and elsewhere; online. I found several webpages and documented the information and how they presented their position to the public, rhetorically. The main strength surrounds the rather blunt piece written by George Whale. This resource was a gold mine for information and support of my topic. I was able to really disseminate the data and it was also rather refreshing to have a piece that puts the whole situation so bluntly, as an integral part of my paper.
Computer generated imagery has evolved and spread throughout cinematography and the film world like wildfire. Although computer generated imagery offers countless creative opportunities, the art form of special effects makeup should be practiced and preserved, as just that- an art form. Most people have begun to describe special effects makeup as anachronistic. Considering how long special effects makeup has been around, people are convinced that its existence is coming to an end.
Throughout the recent years, Photoshop has become a widespread phenomenon amongst the world. With the rapidly developing inventions of camera’s and devices with cameras on them; posting pictures on social media has become extremely popular. Along with that, the pressure to appear perfect in said pictures has increased dramatically. Society has become exceedingly focused on the idea of perfect, and what perfect looks like. Especially now, with growing photo sharing phone applications such as Instagram, photo editing is becoming even more popular. Photoshop has proven to have many beneficial uses; however, it also has very negative consequences such as false perceptions, and misleading people.
Finding and locating your digital footprint makes you realize a lot of the information that is actually out there about you. Many people can tell before doing research some of their digital footprint based off the websites that they visit, but some find out information and things that they would never think of. I think that it is a good thing for everyone to do research on themselves to be aware of their information that everyone else can see. It is also important for a person to figure out their digital footprint because they could make it out to be better for the future. Locating it first is the most important part.

The final step is called rendering. During rendering, the computer calculates the effect of light, color, and texture on the model's surface. For a film or video, the computer will produce a two-dimensional digital picture of the characters for each frame of the animation. The computer artist usually adjusts many visual effects, such as camera focus and transparency, during the rendering phase.
