There are many types of live whether it's romantic, parental, friendship, family honor, or unrequited love. Often times love is interpreted differently. Each type is presented in its own way. In the story of Romeo and Juliet each type of love is clearly shown. Although they are all presented in this story, William Shakespeare, the author had put both parental and friendship love very frequently in this story. Each type of love has many similarities and differences.
Both parents and friends protect, guide, and approve or disapprove. Parental love is between a parent or guardian and their child. It's a form of nurturing, providing and protecting physically and emotionally. Friendship love, is between two individuals who care for each other

, listen to each other, and often times share the same interests. Protection plays a big part in both friendship and parental love. Parental love is shown in the book, "let two more Summer's wither in pride." (Act 1, scene 2, line 20).
This section is talking about how Juliet's father is holding off Paris proposing because he feels Juliet isn't physically or emotionally ready to be married at such a young age, he's protecting her from what isn't good for her. Friendship protection is also shown, " O Romeo O Romeo brave Mercutio is dead," (Act 111, scene 1, line 110). This section explains how Mercutio died trying to protect Romeo from Tybalt. Guidance, also plays a major part in both friendship and parental love. Friendship guidance is shown a lot between Romeo and his friends. The text says, " we waste our lights in light vain, like lamps by day," (Act 2, scene 4, line 45). In this part of the story Mercutio was influencing Romeo to go to the party to nurture his broken heart. Parental influence is also shown between capulet and Juliet. "Find though means and I'll find such a man" (act 2, scene 2 ,line 100). Lady capulet was telling her about Paris guiding her to what she thinks is happiness for her daughter. Lastly, parents and friends both give approval. Friends give a their approval in outfit options, boys, and etc. "Your love says, like an honest gentleman..." ( act 11,scene 5, line 50). This scene explains how the nurse had
talked to Romeo and brought back news, telling Juliet he's an honest gentleman and she approves as a friend. Parental approval is also wanted but not just wanted, needed in order to do things. The text says, "Of honorable reckoning are you both,And pity ’tis you lived at odds so long"(act 1, scene 2, line 5). This part of the story is talking about how Paris is trying to get approval to wife his daughter. Approval is very relevant in both friendships and parental love. Love is shown everywhere we go in the world, sometimes we don't notice it but it's there, all love has its similarities and differences but they all contain the same basic characteristics. Parental and friendship love is thought of as total different kinds but they are almost identical with some differences. It's just the way someone looks at love. Some individuals believe that all love is about the same but that is untrue, even if they are very a like they aren't completely . Parental, romantic, unrequited, family honor, and friendship love all have the basic qualities but slightly differ from one another.
The teen years is an emotional time for teenagers. One of the many responsibilities as one grows is for a teen and parent to understand one another. Relationships are hard for many teens, but being in a relationship is even harder when their parents do not support them. In the play , Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows what could possibly happen if parents do not accept the relationships of their children.
There are many different types of love in this world, thus there are many different ways of expressing love. What revolves around that love, and the many different circumstances, trials, and tribulations that a love might face can greatly influence the outcomes of that love. These trials and tribulations can also be seen as different literary elements when used in plays. When looking at Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, he used many different themes and elements to provide complexity to the love story. Shakespeare cleverly takes the main theme of the play, love, and ties in other elements such as time, stage imagery, and language to pull the whole play together in a way that makes one think about the play on other levels.

In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the views of love held by the character Romeo contrast sharply with the views of Mercutio. Romeo's character seems to suffer from a type of manic depression. He is in love with his sadness, quickly enraptured and easily crushed again on a passionate roller coaster of emotion. Mercutio, by contrast is much more practical and level headed. His perceptions are clear and quick, characterized by precise thought and careful evaluation. Romeo, true to his character begins his appearance in the play by wallowing in his depression over Rosaline who does not return his love:
Playwright, William Shakespeare, conveys the different forms of love between the characters in his drama, Romeo and Juliet. In the small town of Verona, the different types of love are highlighted, through character actions and speech. Unrequited love is seen in Romeo and Juliet through Romeo's 'love'for Rosaline in Act one, while the forbidden love at first sight, also known as romantic love is seen between Romeo and Juliet. Furthermore, the motherly love/ familial love, Juliet and the Nurse share is also explored. William Shakespeare shows the forbidden love at first sight between two characters, Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo and Juliet become married in a forbidden relationship over the high tension brawl between their rival families which Shakespeare clearly shows in the play. Despite the family brawls, the pair decides to let their "perfect" love defeat all. Peoples ideas have changed in the space of 400 years, for example back then some loves featured in this play would produce different reactions to the audience, than today. Shakespeare opens the play with the chorus who speaks a sonnet, where love imagery is found; "Two Star-crossed lovers" =

Have you ever been in love before? Many would say that love is hard to come by, and even harder to maintain, while some would say the opposite. In Shakespeare’s play, The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, he explores similar concepts related to love and infatuation. Although the reader never directly hears from Shakespeare, one could infer that his own thoughts are similarly mirrored in his characters, with the play serving as a warning tale of sorts, and the various roles echoing different dangers when it comes to love, which of there are many. More specifically, Romeo Montague and his actions in the play are very intentional, as they help explain Shakespeare’s intentions and his own personal thoughts on the topic of love and its hazards, as well

Different Aspects of Familial Love in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet At the time Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet, familial love was very different to what we know it as today. Parents did not have a close relationship with their children. A nurse was often hired by the upper classes to breast feed their children because it was not accepted in polite society. Fathers often arranged marriages for their daughters, who would usually only be about twelve or thirteen years old, Marriages often lacked love.
In the first scene of Act one there is the servants Sampson and Gregory talking about sexual love. As they both talk about taking girls virginity. They both sound arrogant as they talk as if it is through experience. To them the thoughts of taking a girl’s virginity seems a joking matter.
