For an example, if a person pulls away from officers making an arrest and the person snaps, the officer can choose to apply a compliance hold to that person because that person is resisting arrest. The officer can justified use of force if the person or people are resisting arrest.(Gates)

There are many situations that can be considered police brutality. For example, if an officer pulls you out of your car and you are not doing anything wrong and then the officer starts beating you that can be considered police brutality. Another example if a suspect harms the officer or a citizen then the officer is justified on using deadly force, which in this situation is not police brutality. Here is a situation that is considered police brutality, if there is a police officer that grad a girl in a classroom the officer pulled her from her set and slammed her to the ground that would be considered police brutality. Another thing that can be considered police brutality is, if an officer stops a person of a different race and beating the person because of their race that is racial profiling and police brutality.
