The difference between the book ‘Ender's Game’ and the movie ‘Ender's Game’ There are a lot of differences between the book and the movie ‘Ender’s Game’ even though the storyline is somewhat the same in the movie, and like half of the characters from the book were in the movie. The movie was still very different from the book. Some of the similarities is that Ender defeats the buggers, thinking that it was just a game to graduate from command school, and finds out after he uses the ‘little doctor’ on the buggers home planet. He was still upset that he killed the entire bugger spices one of the quotes that he said was “It doesn't matter if you win, it matters the way you win.” Another similarity is that Ender killed Stilson and Bonzo both
in the book and the movie, he also killed them the same way and in the same setting in the movie as he did in the book. There were a lot of differences between the book and the movie, one of them was that Ender met Bean differently, he met him in the beginning instead of half way through the story. There was no Locke or Demosthenes in the movie, plus when Ender went into battle school he wasn't six in the movie. In the movie Ender needed to be told to trust the others by Graff instead of learning to trust them himself. In the movie they sped up the timeline instead of Ender going to school for years he went there for like a month or two, comparing the timelines the movie speeds it up a little too much. In the book Ender breaks a kids arm in the beginning of the book, but in the movie Ender never breaks a kids arm. All in all the movie and the book are pretty different from each other. I think if I never read the book I wouldn't have known what was happening in the movie, I think that the book gives a lot more details then the movie does. Bu even though there were a lot of differences there are some similarities, like the ‘Giant's drink’ game Ender still sees Peter and Valentine in the game. There were big differences too, like there was never the book ‘Speaker of the dead’ but they still say it in the movie, but only briefly.
With both the movie and the book there were similarities and differences involving the names of the characters. Justice Wargrave was known as Author Cannon in the movie. Also, Vera Claythorne was Ann Clyde. Another difference is Philip Lombard was Charles Morman in the movie. However, there were some similar names, Mr. Blores’ name continued to stay the same as well as Dr. Armstrong.
There are few similarities between the book and the movie. Usually most movies are similar to
The Enders Game written by Orson Scott Card provides understanding of the characters and their relationships with others through indirect characterization and diction. Orson Scott Card uses literacy devices and specific word choice to let the reader draw conclusions about the characters and the relationships between Peter and Ender, the symbolism of the bugger mask/bugger-astronaut game, and the foreshadowing of Peter and Valentines death. The author reveals the relationship between Peter and Ender through Peter’s perception of Ender and the astronaut-bugger game. “Ender did not see Peter as […]
The books, A Wrinkle in Time and And Then There Were None, both have many differences in the movie versions. The directors of both movies change the plot to make the movie see fit to what they may have imaged the book to be, while still keeping the story line the same.
In Orson Scott Card’s novel, Enders Game, at the age of six, Ender is chosen by Colonel Graff and the International Fleet to help save mankind from the buggers. However, through his journey, he experiences manipulation and deception from significant figures that surround his life. This deceit from Colonel Graff, Valentine, and Mazor Rackham is focused on defeating the buggers in the Third Invasion.
There are many differences in the movie that were not in the book. In the movie there is a new character in the movie that was not in the book. This character was David Isay.
While watching the movie, I could see that the main characters in the book, both their names and traits, were the same in both the movie and book. However, aside from that there were many different as...
In both the novel and movie focus on the war. The war influences the characters to enroll. Also, the main setting is at the Devon School. However, in the novel Gene visits Leper at his house but in the movie Leper lives in the woods. In the novel Gene is coming back to the Devon School 15 years later. However, in the book he is coming to Devon as a new student. Therefore, similarities and differences exist in time and setting in the novel and the movie. In the novel and the movie there are similarities and differences in events, character, and time and setting.
Andrew Wiggin is the main character in the novel, Ender’s Game. His nickname is Ender. Andrew got his nickname from his older sister Valentine when he was born because Valentine was unable to say the name “Andrew”, so she called him Ender. It has specific meaning in the book because of the fact that Ender is expected to be able to ‘end’ events that someone else had started before him.
Usually movies try to take the story to a different level or by adding parts or just try to change it to a completely different story. Some of the differences between the movie as to the book are some little and large differences. They might also try taking little parts away that will change how the readers see the story characters. An example of that would be Walter not smoking in the movie (Pg 115). Walter usually smokes because he is stressed or just as a way to relax. Walter also does not get punched by Mam...
Overall, the movie and book have many differences and similarities, some more important than others. The story still is clear without many scenes from the book, but the movie would have more thought in it.
In Enders Game; there’s many key points in the film that without them, they story would be completely different. Ender gets his call to action when he gets his monitor out and beats up a kid (Bernard). The teachers saw what Ender did and thought that he was ready to fight a war. That action causes Ender to go to Battle school to better improve his strength and knowledge. After the hard work in battle school, Ender was sent
I have only included what I have to believe are largely important plot gaps and differences in the movie version in comparison to the book one, and so I apologize again if I have missed any other major ones. Forgive me, please.
One similarity was that in both the movie and the book, Peter hated Ender and despised him for being a Third. Peter was also very intelligent but his aggression got the best of him. Valentines love for Ender never changed, and in both the book and movie she defended him from Peter. She also appeared in the game Ender was playing. She always wanted the best for him and she loved Ender. Another similarity was that the Buggers tried to communicate with Ender and he didn’t realize until it was too late. In both the book, and the movie, Enders constant battle was trying to decide if what he was doing was right or if he needed to change something. He hated hurting people, and hating being anything like Peter, but that side of him showed when needed. Ender had always been someone to observe and watch what others did before he made any decisions, he was a smart boy who definitely had the leading capability in
Furthermore, one of the main differences between the movie and the novel, Twilight, are the characters. Although both stories share the same characters and background information about the characters, there are differences in their
