I put some thought into this discussion. The question was supposing that I applied to be a waitress at a local restaurant. I inquired to the local manager what a typical dinner shift consisted. What might the manager's response be in describing an average size of a party at any particular table? When I first read this question. I thought there is not much information. There are many variables to have an exact answer. However, after re-thinking the manager could provide an average. The three most common averages used are Mean, Median, and Mode. The manager may use all three methods in obtaining an average. He can provide a mean (average); the sum divided by the count. For example, 5+6+4= 15 / 3= 5. The average is 5.
The manager can also elect
Teachers who work with English Language Learners know that academic language takes longer to achieve proficiency in than does conversational language. On average, ELL students need at least two years to achieve conversational language and, five to nine years to develop academic language proficiency. Many English words ELL students are exposed to in school, they have not yet learned or even heard in their first language, which makes transference of knowledge impossible. The vast differences in the ability to use conversational versus academic language can be a hindrance to these students and have lasting effects on their academics and therefore, their lives.
An investigation of 150 randomly selected local restaurants concluded that 42% of local restaurants have serious health code violations. Is this a population or a sample; explain your answer.
From the moment that we are born, we are exposed to means of language and communication. Though technically we can not speak as babies; we give our parents small signals to let them know what we need such as, being hungry or needing a diaper change. Language is proven to be essential and an important part of life. In the essays, Homemade Education, by Malcolm X and Spanish Lessons, by Christine Marin both essays give a strong example of why language is important. In Malcolm’s essay, he explains how when he was prison the power of language completely changed his life. In Marin’s essay she talks about her experience with the English and Spanish language and how both languages opened up new doors for her in her life and
People on this planet have distinct personalities that differentiate them from everyone else. Personality refers to the “structures and propensities inside people that explain their characteristics patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior” (Colquitt, Lepine, and Wesson 278). Personality has the ability to shape the way people perceive who we are, telling them how we behave in a social environment. Being that there are more than 1,000 adjectives used to describe the types of personalities, the Big Five Taxonomy is used to summarize all those adjectives. In this paper, I intend to discuss the Big Five Taxonomy Dimensions in the workplace.
customer violently shakes a cereal box and voices his anger with a light rainfall in the direction of the manager. The cashier, one of Pierrefonds’s well-known employees, Christyne Chartrand, stands at a distance and adjusts her glasses waiting for peace to be restored in this chaotic situation. As frustrating as these types of confrontations might be, Christyne perseveres through it all and continues on with her day.
According to the task assigned to me, I have visited one of my favorite food court (i.e) TACO BELL. As a matter of fact each and every organization has a unique data requirements in this regard, this particular food court has its own requirement for data. The requirement may be seen at different levels. The first level of TACO Bell is Hiring manager. The hiring manager requires the data of the employee who work at Taco bell. On the next level will be a manager who looks after the inventory. Inventory management requires a database which works efficiently. So, at this level the use of the database is must. At the next level the data requirement of the cashier is different from others. The next level of data requirement is for the drive-away customers.
My survey was open to anyone who was above the age of 18 because the topic of eating out can apply to almost everyone regardless of certain demographics. The survey was open for five days and I collected a total of 25 responses. Twenty four (96%) participants were between the ages of 18 and 25. One (4%) participant was between the age of 26 and 35. Out of all the respondents a total of twenty (80%) have incomes that are less than $25,000 a year. The other five (20%) respondents have incomes that range from $25,000 to $50,000 a
This Thanksgiving, I attended a dinner that was put on by a local family for homeless, students who were not going home, and anyone else who did not have a place to go for their Thanksgiving meal. One of the hosts of the meal was a Hawaiian family that owns a local business, and they served traditional American Thanksgiving dishes, as well as some Hawaiian dishes. The meal took place at the Benton County Fairgrounds, and the hosts expected to have approximately one hundred fifty people to attend this dinner, so this was a relatively large gathering of people. Since they were expecting a large number of people, the food was served in a buffet style.
Statistics and numbers get repeated so often and numbers are presented in large, whole quantities, e.g. 800,000 children younger than 18 are missing each year, or an average of 2,000 children reported missing each day in the United States. The statistics and numbers are not broken down ...

The cafeteria serves about one hundred and fifty residents of Cambridge Hall and approximately one hundred residents from Nottingham Hall. The cafeteria serves hot foods, salads, snacks, sandwiches, and beverages. The data has given me information on the percentage of customers that preferred a hot meal (interactive and precooked) to snacks, the ratio of customers that prefer precooked hot meals over an interactive hot meal, line formation, service times at the different stations, arrival times and the location of the different stations. I also learned that the peak hours of operations are from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and that the cafeteria has two cash registers available but only one is being utilized during the peak hours. If customers decide on a hot meal there is a 2 to 1 ratio that customers will purchase a precooked meal over an interactive meal. Through an informal customer survey, reasonable waiting times were established for the precooked line (5 minutes), the interactive line (10 minutes), and the cashier payment line (1minute).
Individuality is what distinguishes someone from a group full of people of the same kind. There are many factors when it comes to individuality, but one of the most important is self-expression and the way a message is sent and received. Something that can make or break self-expression and the impact one might want to make is language. The way one uses their main and secondary language will be the main aspect that brings their ideas together. Language is what helps the audience understand certain distinctions in an argument and reasoning, as it displays one’s culture, simplicity, and how they can communicate with others of certain social backgrounds.
This balance can be achieved by using various parameters such as long-term versus short-term business objectives, market conditions, technologies, external conditions etc. Pie charts, histograms, bubble diagrams are frequently used by businesses for revealing this balance (Doorasamy, 2017, p.21).
