“Designated Survivor” is the second series of Kiefer Sutherland that is in perfect timing with Donald Trump’s win in the United States presidential election. The first was “24” which ran for eight seasons and have won Emmy Awards. In “Designated Survivor” Keifer Sutherland plays as Tom Kirkman who is a Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. He has no military background and has never held a political position before he became a United States president after the Capitol was attacked. When ABC decided to pick up the tab for “Designated Survivor” last December, Donald Trump was also in the middle of GOP voting for their official candidate. Trump bested several Republicans who have been in the political scene for quite some time. Just recently,
Chris McCandless is not a hero, dumb jerk, or a soul searcher. He is a man. A man is a complex system created

An explanation is a set of statements constructed to describe a set of facts which clarifies the causes, contexts, and consequences of those facts. This description may establish rules or laws, and may clarify the existing ones in relation to any objects, or phenomena examined. The first piece Bush Remarks Roil Debate over Teaching of Evolution written by Elizabeth Bumiller, is an explanation. Bumiller addresses her points using facts rather than opinions, she also says, “Recalling his days as Texas governor, Mr. Bush said in the interview, according to a transcript, “I felt like both sides ought to be properly taught.”(2), this signifies that this is an explanation and not an argument since he sees both sides instead of choosing one. For
The Republican Primary was a race between Vice President George Bush and Senator Bob Dole because President Reagan had reached his term limit and could not run again. Bush was Reagan's Vice President, so he started the race as the Republican front-runner. Bush's campaign was startled after its loss to Dole in the Iowa Caucus. Bush stepped up the campaigning, uttering his famous line, "Read my lips, no new taxes." Dole soon ran out of steam when Vice President Bush won every state in the Super Tuesday Primaries. Bush's strong victories are attributed to his ability to gain the support of the religious fundamentalists, mainly in the South. Bush's ability to establish a strong Southern base helped him in both the primary and general elections.
Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.
Did you know that the word zombies come from African and Haitian people? From the legends regarding voodoo doctors that they believe used to and might still do. Bring back the dead for a short amount of time and turn the to mindless slaves. That will follow their every order with no hesitation. Which is actually like the walkers are doing in the Walking Dead but they weren't raised from the dead. I mean they were but not literally the virus brought them back, not a person. Same goes for Kitchenette Building the speaker is not a zombie or a walker but she might as well be. The fact that she continues to live a life she doesn't want and doesn’t make changes to fix it. She just continues to do the same thing every day that, I bet anybody
Holden tries to preserve his own innocence, and the innocence of others by not letting go of childhood memories and through his desire to suspend time. Holden views the adult world as corrupt and full of phonies. He admires childhood because of how it is free of corruption, and untouched by the adult world. IN order to preserve his own innocence Holden often attaches himself to childhood memories. The Museum of NAtural History is one of Holden’s favourite places . He mentions that his grade one teacher Miss. Aigletinger used to take his class there every saturday. While writing about the museum he says, “The best thing, in that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was” (121). This shows how Holden wants to preserve his innocence because he expresses how he likes how everything stayed the
Chris Kyle is famous catalyst for change because of all the people he saved in the Iraq war. Chris wasn't made a Navy SEAL, he was born a SEAL. Chris put his own life on the line as a Navy SEAL to save his fellow Marines, Soldiers, and US Citizens; Because of what he sacrificed the world now knows how gruesome war is and how bad the Iraqis are.
What explains the shocking popularity of the Donald Trump's reality series The Apprentice? There are a number of possible reasons. It certainly could be our endless curiosity about the lives of the rich and famous. It may also be explained by our current interest in staring into the fishbowl drama watching real life struggles, humiliations and victories. Perhaps it's the chance to witness, from a safe distance, the scary and possibly all-to-familiar horror of being fired from a desirable position. These are reasonable answers however, there seems to be much more to it than this. The wildly successful show, The Apprentice, has hit on something big. It responds to an ongoing and unresolved fascination with the mysterious, complex and universally meaningful phenomena called LEADERSHIP.
The Ontario star editorial writer presents a firm opinion by analysing the pot-selling consequences that evidently lead up to a number of serious matters and issues that are to be solved. The author displays multiple premises in support to his/her claims that seem to be mainly in attack to the present illegal sales of marijuana in the streets of Toronto.
Disney’s new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will do exceptionally well in the box office due to the previous success of the Star Wars films and the recent prosperity of Disney’s use of Star Wars. On December 1, 2012, Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm had been completed and Disney rigorously started production of merchandise to begin being released in 2014. It was then announced that they would begin development of a seventh edition to the Star Wars saga with hopes of being released in December 2015. This sparked much fan reaction across the globe consisting of both positive and negative feedback.
I really do not get all of the appeal behind The Hunger Games. This is similar to The Twilight Saga, not that both franchises are the exact same, but they're both highly overrated franchises that are geared mostly towards teenagers. The only difference is that The Hunger Games tries to appeal to all demographics, but just ends up being REALLY obnoxious--- once you see the poster for this movie 1000 times. The one with Katniss on it. This is one of the most ANNOYING movie posters, if not THE most annoying movie poster I have ever seen. It's everywhere, even when the second movie is about to be released. Sorry, but The Hunger Games will not be as memorable as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. It's just another
Trump has had a remarkable impact on social media and in result that has helped build the reputation he has today as well as the popular stance he had all before becoming president. Today the world is overflowing with technology that the population nearly completely depends on, from our cell phones, tablets, or computers, that are used to assist us with daily tasks. What if this technology begun to alter the way we live our lives? As a society, we are reshaping our lives by consistently attempting to appeal to our followers on social media. For instance, we constantly photograph daily events in our lives and then proceed to utilize filters so that they appear as photogenic as possible. It’s almost as if we are trying to create an entire new identity, one who’s life is more interesting than our own. What if, however, there was a place that you could travel to, for an outrageous expense, to be immersed into an alternate form of life. In the television series, Westworld, this place previously described can become a reality. Inside the mock society called Westworld as well, the individuals are known as guests, which as a guest you cannot be harmed. The robots posing as people are known as hosts, and to a guest they are known as your servants. Every other person is an automation, built to look and act exactly as
Is this because of Donald Trump? Mark Cuban thinks so, “Donald Trump is going to run the Seinfeld campaign—it’s going to be the campaign about nothing.” Transitively, Donald Trump, running the Seinfeld campaign is also running the American Psycho campaign. As evidenced by the fact that Trump won his party’s nomination and is leading in the new Rasmussen Poll by 5 points against Former First Lady Hillary Clinton, the American people want a political outsider and someone who, as quoted by Gov. Chris Christie “tells it like it is.” Who besides Trump fits these requirements, the answer: Patrick
