THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME So after coming out with a win in the semi final game we went out to eat as a whole team and that's what we do as american culture. Also our championship game did not start for a couple hours later and also we got to go out to eat a lot because we are american and that's what we do as american culture. Some of my teammates names are named Juan Alonso, Jackson Williams, Nick Lancaster, Preston Harrison, Tristan Taylor, Connor Pennycook, Cole Person, Alex Tan, Jordan Stutzman, and Dj Berliner. So in warmups before the championship game our star player Juan Alonso got injured and did not play the championship game because he had rolled his ankle. So as we warmed up we had to put our backup shortstop in named Jackson …show more content…
So the first inning of the game our lead off hitter was up named Alex Tan he was up and he got beaned right in the chin with the ball and he was our star catcher and so he got subbed out and we had to put our really bad catcher in named Jordan stutzman. Anyway we scored one run the first inning and then we played defence. Our starting defence was pitcher was Cole Pearson and at first base was Preston Harrison and at second base was Connor Pennycook at shortstop with Jackson Williams and at 3rd base was THE Nik Lancaster and at left field was Tristin Taylor and at center field was LeBron James and right field was Dj Berliner. So before the game even started we got together as a team and got in a circle we took off our hats and we prayed together, we prayed for our injured player Juan so that he would feel better and we prayed for the other team and prayed for the umpires and prayed for the parents and prayed for a safe and healthy game. Then after we prayed and said “amen” we saw their team on one knee praying as well, there name was FCA Knights. On the back of their hats, there was a cross and on the back of ours, we had a Bible verse. Praying before the game is all …show more content…
The reason why they kept scoring runs on us is because they kept hitting it at the second baseman or up the middle. Our second baseman, Connor Pennycook, was inexperienced at the time, that game was the first time was his first time playing 2nd base. Anyway, our star catcher felt better and put our old catcher, Jordan (spud) Stutsman, back at 2nd base because Connor Pennycook kept making errors, so his dad and our coach, Chris Pennycook, took him out and put Spud there. When the ball was still getting hit at 2nd, Spud made easy errors. Anyway, the game is now tied. Nik (Big Papi) Lancaster was up in the last inning and had a leadoff double. Then Jackson Williams smacked a game winning walk off double, to win us the game! After the dinger and the game was over, we shook their hands because that’s what we do as culture. Their coach went up to our coach and asked if we’d pray with them around the mound, and we did that because that’s a big part of culture. Religion plays a part in culture to some. Before we prayed, we got 1st place t-shirts and a fat trophy and got together as a team while the parents took pictures, then prayed with the other team. After that, we all went to dinner to munch because we were hungry. Then
Going to a Carolina Panthers football game and it was great! I used sight, hearing, smelling, feeling, and tasting when I went. Out of all the NFL games I have been to, this was by far my favorite. There was so much to do when I went there.
on day in early june gablin was sitting in the dugout of the san jose sunbirds stadium remembering last season. It was the eighteenth inning of the second game of the Western Division play-offs against the Santa Ana Lionettes and Gamblins idol. Carol Spanks was at the plate Spanks lined the ball to the left of third base a shot lit so hard that it pulled the glove off Gamblins hand and rolled onto the artificial turf Gamblin scrambled for the ball spun around and threw her idol out at first base. It was she thought the best play she ever made.
I had Just got done with lacrosse practice and about to walk down to the car when all of the sudden a pink fluffy polar bear flew down and grabbed me and threw me onto its back i was actually not scared i enjoyed this odd ride when all of the sudden i saw a shiny silver tiny… peanut! It smiled a weird peanut smile and jumped into my ear and wisped a date. 2024 all i did was nod my head and poof we turned the oddest yellow in the world! We vanished the last thing i remembered was a purple and green monkey staring back at me.
In my 8 or so years of playing football I’ve often heard coaches liken the job of the linemen to that of a soldier fighting in a trench, pushing, attacking, and struggling for every inch of the battlefield that is the line of scrimmage. Of course, the job of a lineman is far less dramatic and glorious than that description makes it out to be, most of our job is just keeping the defense at bay so the quarterback and the rest of the backfield has time to get a play off. Unfortunately for us offensive linemen, the defense has a much larger bag of tricks when it comes to the actual clash, they can grab, pull, or simply spin by while the O-line is relegated mostly to pushing with shoulder and hand. This can make things difficult if, for instance
Athletes that play football at the college level serves the same purpose National Football League (NFL) athletes serve. At least, that is what many people think in the world we live in today. College football players play the game of football, are shown on television, and are looked up to by young people just like professional football players. The only difference between the two is NFL players get paid and college players do not. This is what leave football fans with an interesting question. Should college football players get paid like NFL players? This is the question many people want to know the answer to. Although college football players do share characteristics with professional football players, they should not be paid any money. The
On my hunk of rusted metal long ago called a bike I rode up to the thing I once called home in the hot Louisiana sun. It was the Oak Grove football field. I slowly rolled up with my brakes creaking like the knee brace I wore, I came to a halt ready to start on my adventure once again. I strolled up to the field and everyone eyes traveled straight to me.
Once again, after a successful season, Shadle Park was defeated by a Big 9 school in the first game of the regional tournament. This reoccurring event has led many to believe that the four year football program puts GSL students at a disadvantage compared to other districts. A junior high school football program would not only increase the competitiveness of the students but also have more important consequences.
What happens on the soccer field is extraordinary. The cool, crisp air blowing across the long field. Then, the initial whistle goes off, Immediately players collide going after the leather ball. The fresh smell of nicely cut grass, with the thin net draping inside the large goal. Getting a sip of a sweet flavored Gatorade during a break. Then suddenly back into action . Dribbling the leathery ball quickly up the field with sweat rolling down your face. The fans start to get excited. And then a shot is fired off, the roar of the crowd is like nothing else when a goal is scored. The soccer field is an unbelievable place to be.
The air is getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, the grass is green, but nothing is sweeter than seeing the greenest grass in the world on a baseball field, yes it is finally here. I don’t understand as I am walking out to the field for the first practice how most people do not see the beauty and poetry in the game of baseball. The greatest diamond I know of is the baseball field, the smell of fresh cut grass, the lines of the field being chalked, baseballs flying through the air, and the sheer joy of playing a beautiful game with the greatest of friends. The only problem was this, we were horrible. We won only two games the entire season and as we come to the final game I cannot believe this is
The wheels on the bus went round and round, all the way to Paonia. The ten mile trip seemed to last forever. Whoosh, Whoosh was the only sound could be heard as the wheels ran through the new rain puddles that were created earlier that day. It was dead silent, you could have heard a pin drop. We all knew what was at stake. For each of us it was a different thing, but on both sides of the ball we knew that in order to have bragging rights for the rest of our lives this would be the game that we would have to win. Every other game that season didn't matter as long as we won this game. Every hit would be remembered on those days when we would be sitting down as old men drinking beer or coffee. There would be talk about when we flew around the field with each other who hit who and who knocked who on their can. The bus was not a sleeping silence, it was more of a tense silence. The type of silent there is when a group of civilians enter the surrounding of another expecting to leave with something they shouldn't. The main thing we were expecting to leave with was respect. Its all about respect. This was the type of game that every hit and every block counted. We knew that we will be partying with them the next spring, and we wanted bragging rights. That was the type of silence that it was, all the way to Paonia.
It was a warm September day, perfect for baseball. I had eagerly woken up, gotten dressed and set off for my first practice as a member of the Superfund Wanderers, a new team I had joined that year. As I walked onto the field, I knew this practice would be unlike any I had experienced before. The first person I met introduced himself as Matthias. He had long, blonde hair that fell past his shoulders and ill-fitting pants that seemed three sizes too small. The glove he used was cheap and plastic, better suited to a tee-ball player half his age. He didn’t even have baseball spikes on, instead opting for soccer cleats. Looking around the field, a dozen kids fit the same mold. They were passionately discussing the latest soccer scores, yelling
When the ref blew his fox -40 whistle, the game commenced., it was a good game but we were dominating the first half, then , out of the blue , they started to catch up , eventually at the end of the last quarter, we got a one point lead. There was only 20 seconds left, coach gave the signal, to play monkey in the middle, all our team had to do is not let Shadow touch the ball, while we were tossing the ball , making it impossible for the other team to grab it, they were infuriated, both the team and the parents, then the buzzer went off. and we had won. I was in relief for a little, Then I heard the insults coming from the audience, the other teams parents weren't happy with the outcome of the game, calling us chickens, that we were babies , of course we didn't mind because we had won, but one man yelled at us saying ,"You f****** burnt Mexicans, can't play for
The citizens in the small town of Odessa, Texas live for high school football. Most of their attention and resources are poured into this extracurricular activity, resulting in numerous drawbacks. "Five six seven eight!" She called out one last time as she blew her whistle and squinted her eyes in the blazing hot sun of the still warm yet approaching Nebraska fall. The wind section was still a bit off, and she could still hear the newest members of the band struggling to keep up with the pitch and sudden pace as they practiced the school's fight song in the now empty student parking lot after school.
