On April 29, 2014, I was at my grandmother 's house visiting her for a couple of minutes. When my family and I left her house everything surrounding us was peaceful. As soon as we head back home on yadkin road. The sky that was once a beautiful baby blue is now dark cloudy grey. The sky almost look as if it is midnight but its only the afternoon. The rain is pouring from the sky making the windows of the car fog up making it unable to see from the inside the car. Trees have fallen down in the middle of the street blocking driveways and parts of the street. The head lights from the car shine on a house that 's roof have been crushed by a tree revealing the tree 's roots and a hole in the ground where the tree had been. Power lines are in the middle of the street swinging everywhere as sparks of …show more content…
The sky began to clear up now it is a light grey color and the rain starts to lighten up. We go outside where broken tree branches and leaves are everywhere. The air feel cold and warm leaving a fresh taste in my mouth. A clear smell of fresh air in my nose like the tornado swept the air clean. Outside the area looks misty and hard to see far away because of the fog. My father took us to drive around and see the damage of what the tornado have left behind. We went to this neighborhood near by us called summer hill. Some house 's windows were broken and some had their roof completely torn off. The area look as if the tornado just grabbed everything and scattered it all over in a huge mess. We stop the car where there was a stand that said "American Red Cross". There was a group of people there asking for assistance and supplies. There were some people who was panicking and was shook about the whole situation. Some people who were crying and receiving hugs from others who also were heartbroken. Then there were some other people who were happy that they were alive and praying with
About a week later a tornado razed a better part of North Houston. It brought rain. It brought hail. It upended cars; it flooded houses. And in its trail it left fallen branches and trees, and removed, in whole, one tiny tomato-onion-potato-and-green-bean garden located behind my garage.
Behind the people I could see dust higher as the highest house in our town. Then we go outside and we start running finally we realize we lost our family.
In the town of Sebewaing not much goes on, and not much will. but recently, in the past few years, things in Sebewaing has been seaming to change that. But, back to my story, my grandfather and I just finished installing the new support beam when, now our immediate family started to show up, as they usually do. “Jesus, don’t they ever stay home?” Grandpa said. You see, my Grandpa is a crotchety old man, but for good reason. I seen my sister and her now fiance walking up too go inside the house but, this time it seemed very peculiar; prior to me going in the house, I seen my sisters fiance look at me with an estranged look. My grandpa instructed me to go take out the trash for him which I did happily, about 5 minutes later I came into the house and looked around, “What the hell is up with everyone?” I asked myself. I discovered while looking around that everyone had an eerie look on their faces, as if someone just died. I sat down and
Ok. One night my sister and I were at my father’s house. He lives in Kingsville on 10 maybe 9 acres of land in this [small pause, looks at ceiling] I wouldn’t really call it a farmhouse, just a kind of small house out there. The previous person who lived in the house was supposedly shipped to an asylum, for, you know, normal stuff [pause] schizophrenic or something. My sister and I were at the house one night and we were cleaning up the house while my dad was on some sort of job out of the state and my step mom was at work in the hospital. We were doing our stuff, and then the power flickered, and came back on. We didn’t think anything of it. Then, outside of the door, we heard a noise, kinda like a dog barking, but like, just enough not so that we knew it wasn’t. So, we hear this noise, and start to get fre...
This lady is the most wonderful person I 've ever met. She is old, affectionate, and intelligent. It took me eighteen years to realize how much this extraordinary person influenced my life. She 's the type of person who charms everyone with her stories and experiences. She always time for her family and friends. She is the kind of leader who does everything to keep her family together and in harmony. She is my grandmother.
When I think back to the days when I was a child, I think about all of my wonderful childhood memories. Often I wish to go back, back to that point in life when everything seemed simpler. Sometimes I think about it too much, knowing I cannot return. Yet there is still one place I can count on to take me back to that state of mind, my grandparent’s house and the land I love so much.
Everyone has their own, personal place to have alone time and clear their heads. For me, that place is my bedroom in my apartment. My room is the one place where I feel most nostalgic and comfortable; its’ a comfort that can’t be replaced. My bedroom is my favorite room in my apartment because I always have my privacy there, and I feel like it shows my personal style, which I love.
They say grandparents, are the two most favorite people in the world to children. Grandparents are the main characters of your childhood, they are the ones that leave you with the most beautiful memories of your life. Some grandparent’s teach you a very valuable lesson of life, they teach you respect, hard work, family values, and unlimited love. They show you their love in many ways, they say I love you in words as well as actions. Grandparents are the ones that sometimes get you out of trouble and guide you to the correct path. They show you trust, a trust that cannot never be broken.
The familiar smell of soft cookies and homemade cooking are common thoughts when people think about their grandma's house. Great feasts and family gatherings play a part in everyone's grandmother's home. But when I really think about my grandma's house only one word comes to my mind: fun.
there is a tall fig plant that gives the room a feeling of life. On
“Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends (Robot check).” A place becomes a home for me when I am around all the things that I enjoy and love. For example, when I am around everyone that I love, I enjoy a peaceful environment and the beautiful landscapes around me. The interpretation of home for me is not a physical thing that I see or that I can remember or even certain thoughts that I can relate, but it is a sensation that overcomes me when I envision being in the comfort of my own home. However, I know that this is a feeling that is calming to my soul and it quietly reassures me that I genuinely belong in a place where I can be free from people constantly judging me.
On the day my father died, I remember walking home from school with my cousin on a November fall day, feeling the falling leaves dropping off the trees, hitting my cold bare face. Walking into the house, I could feel the tension and knew that something had happened by the look on my grandmother’s face. As I started to head to the refrigerator, my mother told me to come, and she said that we were going to take a trip to the hospital.
Some people are taken from us too early. My aunt is a prime example of this. She was only forty-four when, after a day at the pool, she came down with some flu-like symptoms. Soon it became apparent that this was more than the flu. After being in the hospital two weeks, she went brain dead due to brain swelling. Two days later she was turned off life support, leaving behind her husband and two daughters, four and six, with no answers on what illness killed her. A week later at their episcopal church a beautiful service was held to honor her. Thesis statement.
Has anyone ever asked you: “Who is most important to you”? To me the most wonderful mother in my life, no one can replace her in my heart. My mother, who is very nice and gentle, helps me and has always been there for me when I need her. My mother loves me very much. She is strict and educated me to become a good person. I can’t say how much love her. I am grateful to her because she gave me birth, brings me love and helped me grow up. But you know she just takes care of me a lot. Every day she tells me the same words. If you were me, you would feel very tired. I am a very happy child having my mother. I feel too tired to listen to her words, but imagine one day I don’t see her any longer and listen to her voice. What would I feel?
As I approach the island on which my dream house awaits, I catch a quick
