Denver Airport
Plagued by conspiracies since the day construction crews broke ground in the 1990’s, the Denver airport has captured the attention of many theorists who are trying to uncover what its true purpose is. These theories gain support through many of the questionable features that where unnecessarily placed right in the public view. For example, the massive horse statue that seems to guard the airport as it stands menacingly at the entrance. Also, the airport is riddled with questionable murals that depict disturbing scenes that seem to call upon a primal fear. Travelers are also made uneasy by the recent addition Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of death. Even the gigantic size and layout of the baggage claim and runways are brought into the investigation. It seems that no matter where you are in the Denver International Airport (DIA) you are given clues that allude to something sinister.
As you drive up to the airport you come across an imposing cobalt blue bronco. This towering stallion stands in at 32ft tall and weighs 6 tons and is accented with glowing red eyes. It is the largest statue ever created by 66 year old Louis Jiménez. This massive menacing mustang is rearing up with a destructive and wicked look as its muscles bulging, veins protruding and outlined in a deep blood red as it shoots a devilish look to whoever crosses his path. Why would they put something that makes people so uncomfortable out in front of a building filled with uneasy flyers? The price for this piece of “art”? Three hundred thousand dollars and one man’s life. As the artist was on a ladder while the sculpture was being hoisted up a large section fell on Jiménez pinning him against a s...

...l weapon. Or how in the first mural I talked about they are destroying only a partial amount of the population while destroying the current society. The thought behind drastically reducing the population would be that it would give them more control.
As time goes on the conspiracy theories surrounding the Denver airport will continue to grow as more and more people are allowed to give their perspective on the strange activity that it is associated with. There is no definitive proof back the acquisitions made in this paper but there is also no way to prove them wrong. Things we can be certain on is that the blue mustang will continue to creep people out, the murals will cause people to think, the airport has plenty of room and is sufficiently equipped for expansion, and people will always make up excuses for why someone is more successful and richer than they are.
...ary knew about the crash and that they were going to transport the wreckage to another military base. Many eyewitness accounts with similar details eliminate the possibility of merely a single person making up the entire event. The government’s contradictory reports demonstrate that their knowledge of the incident is dynamic and dependent on how they want the people to react. This matter is important because it raises the possibility that if the government is hiding information from the public about a spacecraft accident, there may be other incidents where the government is concealing the truth from the public. Despite the government’s best attempts to cover up the Roswell incident, eyewitness accounts from the common person validate the idea that an unidentified flying object crashed in Roswell, New Mexico and eternally changed the lives of several people.
There were several conspiracies about the planes that attacked the Twin Towers. One of the planes left Boston's Logan Airport at 7:59 a.m. The hijackers zoomed the plane into the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 a.m. The other plane left Logan Airport at 8:14 a.m. The hijackers flew the plane into the South Tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m. America had stated that 10 planes were suppose to be hijacked on that day. “Providing new details on the planning of the plot, the commission staff said that al-Qaida planner Khalid Shaihk Mohammed initially proposed a Sept. 11 attack involving 10 planes that would be used to attack CIA and FBI headquarters, unidentified nuclear plants and tall buildings in California and Washington state,” (Brunker). Both planes that flew into the Twin Towers were Boeing 767. The plane was 159 feet long. Another thing that seemed odd was that 9,700 gallons when it should usually have nothing less than 14,000 gallons. The engine was found on Murray Street when it should have been right around the Tower. Things were said about the plane being like a missile since the engine was dropped so far from the Towers. According to German TV footage, the planes front nozzle was caught on fire before going through the building. Conspiracy theories state that there were three things attached to the plan that were likely to explode. After the plane went into the building the plan some how exploded making it look like a missile went into the building or some how it was some sort of bomb. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, drew out the plane and the way the plane was flown into the Towers and it did not seem right. The plane propellers of the Boeing 757 were smaller than the hole it actuall...
I selected this picture because as soon as I walked into the Evans wing it jumped right out at me. The painting's huge size and grandeur drew my attention. I like the use of bold colors and strong details. The painting evokes an image of power with the muscled Automedon holding two giant horses.
Conspiracy theories are entertaining for many to speculate and demand a great deal of thought to constitute. A conspiracy theory is defined as the idea that many important political, economic, and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public (“The Definition of Conspiracy Theory”). Many conspiracy theories are thought up around children’s shows, which offers a feeling of nostalgia and pleasure. A few children’s show conspiracies that need a deeper light shone on them are from Max & Ruby (2002-2013), Winnie the Pooh (1977), Rugrats (1990-2004), and All Grown Up (2003-2008).
That is to say, this airport is known for the strange occurrences and articles found in and around the massive area. Denver already had a functioning airport with Stapleton and increased in space but no technology with the construction of the Denver International airport. Consequently, this brings questions as to why there was a need for a new airport in the first place. The runways have been laid out to resemble a Nazi swastika, or maybe the layout is to alleviate any wind disturbance to the airplanes.
Recently, an exhibit of his prints and drawings made its way to the United States from The British Museum in London to The New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Once one arrives at the beautiful old adobe museum, it is necessary to enter the main courtyard and walk directly through the large wooden doors. After that, one must enter a closed room with large glass doors where the title of the exhibit is written. In this room, the walls are painted a vibrant crimson red, which accentuates the blacks, greys, and white tones of the prints and drawings. After turning to the right after a short corridor, one must again turn to the right and find the wall labeled, “Los Caprichos.” It is upon this partition that one immediately notices the ominous yet exquisitely crafted masterpiece The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters from c.1798-99.
There is no doubt that an elaborate underground base exist below the Denver International Airport. What actually is going on down below in this base however is a mystery. When taking a closer look at this airfield it is evident that something weird is going on. “While the most extreme claim maintains that a massive underground facility exists below the airport where an alien race of reptilian humanoids feeds on missing children while awaiting the date of government-sponsored rapture” (Maher 4). This extreme claim just shows what the human mind can conceive when coincidence and the unknown meet. The research is done, is there a conspiracy or is it just being blown out of proportion.
Both are tributes to greatness. One is a federal monument and national icon, the other a solitary dream.” The impact of the statue to millions of people around the country would mean little to nothing if it was not near the site in which so many battles were fought, including the Battle of Little Bighorn. The cultural importance of this architecture lives on through the lives of the American people it has taught.
One of the examples is the “Stampede” cow, near the historic Water Tower. This cow achieves an incredible much in terms of promoting the city and is a true example of a public art figure that celebrates the city’s diversity of events. This cow is painted with images of Chicago’s celebrations, such as the “Taste of Chicago”, the “Venetian Night” and the air show. It is mostly delightful to see a smile on little children’s faces as well as the faces of adults.

Over the years the men and women that risk their lives by boarding planes under a false identity to protect us have been called many things. The names range from simple, “Sky Marshal” to more complicated “Civil Aviation Security Liaison Officers.” No matter what they have been called through the years one thing has always stayed the same. The United States Federal Air Marshals have always been a group of our finest law enforcement officers that give up the luxury traditional police work to sit next to crying babies and old talkative ladies all day. They do this with one goal in mind, to keep the airways safe for private citizens to enjoy the luxury of travel. “The history of the air marshals is closely rooted with the history of hijackings and bombings targeting commercial aircraft. Some of the bombings and hijackings throughout history had more of an impact than others on Federal Air Marshal tactics, manpower and security procedures. These events and the responses of those in civil aviation and the US government are essential to understand the need for air marshals as a last line of defense.” (Biles, 2013) With the rise of crime in the aviation sector the US government has gone to the Federal Air Marshals more times than not for protection of its citizens. It has not always been easy for them and they have not had the best funding around but as you will see throughout this paper, The US Federal Air Marshals have always answered when called upon.
As I enter the Gioconda and Joseph King Gallery at the Norton Museum of Art the first thing that Caught my attention was a painting measuring approximately at 4 ft. by 10 ft. on the side wall in a well- light area. As I further examine the painting the first thing I notice is that it has super realism. It also has color, texture, implied space, stopped time, and that it is a representational piece. The foreign man sitting on the chair next to a bed has a disturbed look on his face and is deep into his own thoughts. It’s as if someone he loved dearly just experienced a tragic and untimely death. He is in early depression. I could feel the pain depicted in his eyes. A book titled The Unquiet Grave lying open on the floor by the unmade bed suggesting something is left unresolved. The scattered photos and papers by the bedside cause redintegration. The picture of Medusa’s head screaming on the headboard is a silent scream filled with anger and pain, yet it cannot be heard. I feel as if I am in the one sitting in the chair and I can feel the anger, and regret.
This statue is the result of the sculptor, Richard Rahl, being kidnapped and forced into bondage in a land ruled by a despotic religious order. This order’s teachings insisted humanity was in a state of sin from birth, unworthy of the light and love of their Creator. This sin was greed. To labor for one’s own survival was to show hatred of your neighbor through greed thus leading to slavery in all but name. Art in this land was deemed vile if it showed humanity in any other light than decrepit and twisted, cringing from their Creator and its light.
I hope through this article the reader has gained a better understanding how the human race has used sculpting and statues to share the values, experiences and emotions from our rich history. From the shores of liberty, to the museums of strength, to the cities of courage and the beach towns of peace the reader can find a rich history of human values. Everyone should be encouraged to conduct their own research into other statues created and review the values that they are built to reflect and share.
The heart begins racing the moment the car pulls into the airport parking lot. The smell of jet fuel, automobile exhaust, and hot tarmac combine to assault the senses with images of exotic escapes and the kind of freedom that can only come from airports. I feel the thrum of the engines at takeoff and the vibration of the plane during the flight in my skin. I see people listening to MP3s and playing video games. I hear the couple behind me chatting about the weather in Florida and the possibility of rain. I recognize the smell of fading perfume that women are wearing. Chanel, Windsong and White Diamonds clash with the smell of popcorn and Quizno sandwiches.
