Conspiracy theories are entertaining for many to speculate and demand a great deal of thought to constitute. A conspiracy theory is defined as the idea that many important political, economic, and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public (“The Definition of Conspiracy Theory”). Many conspiracy theories are thought up around children’s shows, which offers a feeling of nostalgia and pleasure. A few children’s show conspiracies that need a deeper light shone on them are from Max & Ruby (2002-2013), Winnie the Pooh (1977), Rugrats (1990-2004), and All Grown Up (2003-2008). The first theory that will be discussed centers around Max & Ruby, a famous and well favored kid’s show that aired for eleven years. The show centers around Max who is a rambunctious and determined four year old rabbit, and his seven year old sister, Ruby, who is a patient and loving sister to her brother, Max (“Max & Ruby”). This fact is the main drive for the well liked conspiracy theory that explains where Max and Ruby’s parents are, and why Ruby is constantly providing motherly care for her brother. Apparently, the reason why there are no parents around is because they passed away in a car accident on their way to pick up Ruby from Bunny Scouts (“Truth Behind Cartoon.”). According to this theory, Max was also in the car during the accident but survived, living with serious mental injuries, hence the reason why he always messes up within the show and Ruby has to watch after him. He is also believed to be mute because the grandmother, who often shows up in the show, molested him as a …show more content…

Conspiracy theories accuse others of a cover up by secret planning. They may be based on a hunch or even backed by evidence. To the curious mind, they bring about unanswered questions that have attracted the attention of many people throughout history. Among some of the more popular theories are the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the death of Princess Diana; alien encounters in Roswell, New Mexico; and the idea that Elvis may still be alive. Perhaps the most intriguing theory, because of our neighboring location, is the underground bunker and seemingly strange characteristics at the Denver airport.
The legend of Santa Claus can be the lure to which mankind falls into a ploy of conspiracy that may fortify a manipulative mindset and devious conduct in people. It is up to the reader to ultimately decide how they feel about this article. This article analyses one conspiracy, but what about other conspiracies that are similar. Taking Mocks article under consideration and everything he talks about can open up a new perspective. This editorial is a good example of how conspiracy theorist can charm to readers through persuasion. When reading similar pieces readers should be aware of how the author lures them in.
His father kills his mother, then the father goes to jail and Max gets stuck with his grandparents. Max is lost, needs a friend desperately and needs help. He even admits it on the first page, “I never had a brain until Freak came along.” He always thought that his head was empty. “Not that I have any ideas. My brain is vacant” (6). He said he was brainless, stupid, couldn’t learn… He did not believe in himself and Freak came along to help him understand that there is an “...unlocked door just waiting for you to open it.” -Unknown
On her first day of school, Ruby, with her mother beside her, was escorted by four marshals due to the angry whites who were protesting and yelling at 6-year-old Ruby Bridges, she walked through the entire crowd of whites without being intimidated. However, she only became startled when she had seen a woman waving a black baby doll placed in a tiny coffin in the air. Ruby and her mother spent her first day at school in the principal’s office due to the chaos throughout the school. Many parents took their children out of William Frantz Elementary School, some parents took their children out permanently. During the year, a rumor that Ruby might be poisoned spread like wildfire throughout the school, keeping her off the playground and out of the school cafeteria where other students ate lunch. The Bridges family was affected immensely by Ruby’s appearance at William Frantz Elementary School. Abon, Ruby's father, lost his job because whites had threatened to boycott the business where he worked, and many grocery stores refused to welcome Lucille, Ruby’s mother, as a customer. Furthermore, Ruby's grandparents were evicted from their farm. Although there were a few families who gave support to the Bridges family, some helped the family by giving Abon a job opportunity as a house painter and neighbors offered to babysit the Bridges' children.

In the book, The CIA in Hollywood, by Tricia Jenkins, Jenkins explains a brief and clear demonstration on how the CIA has heavily sought to team up with Hollywood to develop certain plans since the 1990s. Jenkins’ intent is to inform the ‘largely hidden history of the CIA in Hollywood’ and to specify how ‘this model of secret influence’ functions (53). Jenkins covers CIA portrayal and involvement, from the Cold War, when it was mostly ‘depicted in a very negative light,’ (133) to the current 9/11 era, as it is ‘trying to circulate whitewashed images of itself through popular media.’ (137).

It is evident that Max tries to escape his reality and get lost in a world where he can find freedom from his complex troubles, much like every other child in the world today whom does not know how to deal with such chaotic and complicated thoughts. Max, unknowingly comes face to face with all his emotions through the lives of others, helping him to come to an understanding in his escape. In the film “Where the Wild Things Are” Max’s sister ignores him, he feels his mothers new boyfriend is taking her from him and he is overall portrayed as a lonely, lost character. Max is told by his mother that he has gone out of control, which essentially is the last straw in initiating him to run away to where he eventually ends up where the wild things are. According to the article “Fantasy - Necessary for Sanity and Morality” in order for proper development, “A child needs to understand what is going on within his conscious self so that he can cope with that which goes on within his unconscious.” This can be attained by daydreaming through stories and scenarios to ...

Conspiracy theories are intriguing to everyone. When there is secrets being hidden, people tend to seek out for answers. It is typical in human nature for us to be curious and want to know everything. When there is a problem to be solved, we take it as an initiative to go look for answers. We observe and wonder, leading to the discovery of many possible solutions. The possibility of the trail being left by airplanes being top-secret government projects is relatively high. Tests have proven that the number of harmful chemicals and aerosols have increased in our environment. The blame has been put on chemtrails, similar to regular airplane contrails, but these release harmful chemicals that affect the environment, risking our health and survival,

To watch or to not watch The X-Files, that is the conundrum. In preparation for this course in watching television, I reviewed the list of shows and asked my parents about the shows I did not know. Immediately after reading the list, my dad insisted that I watch The X-Files, for academic purposes of course. So here I am, at the end of the semester, having watched a handful of The X-Files episodes from various seasons and I cannot decide whether or not it is a quality show. The conspiracy theory nature of Scully and Mulder’s investigations along with the amatuer title slide in fourteen size Ariel font suggests that The X-Files should not be taken too seriously. However, the actors take the conspiracies so seriously that it almost seems paradoxical.
