When being watched, a person always tends to act a little differently; they walk a little taller, smile a little bigger, and act a little nicer. But what happens when the audiences’ backs are turned. There is a certain quality to be had that makes you act the same no matter who is watching. Knowing what’s right even when the wrong seems like the easier option. Being not just true to yourself, but being true to everyone around you. This simple quality is lacked in many people, and is cherished by those who witness it in others. Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. When the word integrity is said, the first thing that pops into your mind is honesty. Many people are so selfish that they think other people don’t matter, this really shows what people's’ true priorities are. In elementary school, children are taught key words to learn how to grow up to be good, caring people. This learning technique is called 7 Pillars of Character. The seven pillars are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. All of these words are taught to elementary students so they can learn how to have integrity. All of the seven words tie into the definition of integrity. By teaching these things at such an early age, there is a less risk of them misbehaving, deceiving someone, or acting out when no one is looking. Pride is a big thing when talking about integrity. Pride by definition is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. Being prideful and carrying pride are qualities most people who have integrity possess. They know the right thing and always try to carry it
