Cheating Cheating is an issue that most people in the world have sadly faced at one point in their life. It encompasses many poor effects, caused by many terrible decisions. Some result in a hateful relationship, some have the effect of being expelled, or even be worse consequences. There are three types of cheating in the world and those are incorporated by the following categories: educational, relationships, and societal. The word ‘cheat’, in all forms, has something to do with deception or fraud. In the case of educational deception, it is certainly no different. Many people are guilty of this form of cheating, whether they own up to it or not. Others may not even count what they do as cheating in the school setting. With that, one definition of cheat, according to dictionary.com, is to practice fraud or deceit. That being given, one has to assume that anything that isn’t their own personal work, would be considered cheating. It is something that no high schooler has gone without, but is something that will result in major problems in higher education other than just a zero in the grade book. …show more content…

Cheat goes all the way back to the word ‘escheat’ in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. In this original meaning it stands for “a deceptive act”. This is very fitting for this part of the whole definition. The act of deceiving a companion is probably the most common form of the word. It occurs at all ages and at all times. It is a huge epidemic that has swept human beings off their feet. Whether it is Bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky, or a random high school girl having two boys at the same time, it is the exact same act of misleading the other person in that relationship.
