Recommended: What is a hero
My definition of a hero is someone who is humble, dedicated, supportive, patient, honest, and intelligent. The reason why I think a has to be humble is because a person who is humble does not think that they are the best person in the world. Another reason why I think heroes need to be humble is because a person who is humble is supportive of others. The quality of being humble leads into the quality of being supportive. A person who is supportive will agree with what other people’s opinions. So, a person who is supportive would be honest. A honest person tells the truth and uses their wisdom or intellect to choose what is right and what is wrong. A hero would be dedicated to their work and would not falter from their work. They would
be patient by not pushing people into things as well as patient by taking all the time to do the best job they can do. The person that I believe represents all of these qualities is John williams is the composer. The way that John Williams show that he is humble is by the way he received his awards for all all of his symphonies. John was nominated for multiple a wards but he did not only want the glory for himself he shared it sometimes (Williams). John Williams was dedicated in his work, so he fulfills my idea stating that a hero is dedicated. He show he is dedicated by how many songs he has made. In total John Williams has made songs for over one hundred films (Kettler). Another way that John Williams follow my description of a hero is he is intelligent. How would someone who is not intelligent write music, perform the symphonies, and receive awards? They wouldn’t be able to do these things unless they are intelligent. The last thing that John Williams does that proves he is a hero is the way he supports others. He always supported people with any of their movies. Their movies gave him the influence to write all the dynamic symphonies he has ever done (Williams). Overall John Williams is well deserving to be not just my hero, but a hero for everyone. With the traits of being humble, dedicated, supportive, and intellectual John Williams shall be considered a hero.
A person who overcomes antagonistic and unnecessary issues in a mature and powering manor. That is the definition of a hero to me. Someone who is being hurt and sees others hurt from the actions and takes charge and does everything in his power to change it. Someone who puts others before themselves and acts in the most chivalrous way. The definition of a hero is different for everyone. Some one might think of a hero as someone who can lift a car and put it on their back, or gives a dying person their kidney. Yes all of those people are forms of hero’s. You can’t tell someone that they are not a hero just because they don’t change into a disguise in a telephone both or can throw lightning bolts from a cloud. Everyone is a hero in their own way.
A hero is defined as "someone admired for his bravery, great deeds or noble qualities". There are three categories to which all heroes can be classified into, one of which is the anti-hero genre.
A hero is someone who invests their time helping others rather than themselves. They are always conscious of their surroundings and environment. Heroes help their enemies and friends regardless of the circumstances. A hero is also someone who is humble and knows when to be protective of others and themselves. Heroes are people who acknowledge flaws, and fix mistakes, those were my own definition of a hero. In “Undocumented Immigrant”, Jose Antonio Vargas tells the truth about his illegal status in the United States. Not only was he an immigrant in the United States, he was his own hero. Vargas proved that he is a hero through code switching, bravery and honesty.
Dictionaries’ definitions of the word hero are exceedingly vague. A standard dictionary limits the definition of a hero to, “a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities” (Dictionary.com). Heroes are people, not just men, who are generous, courageous, and take every event as part of the whole stream of life rather than as a critical moment. Humanity, endurance, and perseverance are other critical characteristics of a deserving candidate for such a title.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a hero is an individual who is admired for great bravery or fine qualities. To me a hero is so much more than a person who shows great bravery. When I think of a hero many fine qualities come to mind; intelligence, courage, altruism, compassion and great bravery.
what is a hero? A hero doesn't always have to be have to be a special individual saving another hopeful soul from a burning building, or being born as an extraordinary individual who has the powers to save lives. A hero could be anyone whose daily acts go unnoticed, and could never be heard. People spend their days doing these things without any notice the act of heroism. Heros can be anywhere without anyone noticing these simple jobs that they do to help others. Heroes can be blind to the human eye but can be notice by the simple acts of strength and selflessness inside them. Although some hero acts go unheard of, heroes can be selfless people, who take up the courage to fight for things bigger than oneself.
Some definitions of heroes are people, who have noble qualities, and put the lives of others before their own life. They are expected to be reasonable and calm, during scary times, like when a shooting is going on, looking out for
What I personally believe makes a hero, is a person that is brave and courageous. Courage is one of the biggest characteristics you need to be considered a hero. Heroism is all about how far you’ll go to protect or serve the people and how far you go is all about how much courage and bravery you have to take such quality to the next level.
To the world today, a hero is someone distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, or strength; but really, anyone can be a hero. A hero can vary from someone as well-known as George Washington to someone as unheard of as anyone’s very own mother. Someone who has done a good deed for someone else is hero. The biggest heroes are the ones in well-known books and plays, such as Odysseus from The Odyssey, or have made a huge difference in the history of this world, like Mahatma Gandhi. Siddhartha Gautama is a hero, but not in the same way Odysseus or Gandhi are. Although these three influential people went through different journeys in order to accomplish different things, they are all heroes in their own way and have been through the same cycle of the road of trials and crisis/salvation.
What is being a hero all about? Heroes give us all hope, that even in the worst possible predicament they always come in and fix any crime or danger. The shirts, logos, and superpowers mean more than that. These superhero characteristics don't necessarily depend on their superpower. There are superheroes out there with no powers, but their own capabilities that make them who they are and who we love.
Now, to explain the definition of hero. A hero is a person that has skills of nobility, strength, and brains. If someone is going to be a hero having these qualities would come in handy because a person needs to be a strong individual to be able to make it through wars and be able to be smart to think of where the places would be to hide while in war. Making the most important decisions is also part of what a hero does because they are the people who are supposed to protect everyone else. “Tragic Hero.” Dictionary.com. Dictionary.com, n.d. What is a hero? That is the question that has many different answers depending on who you ask. There are some pretty popular answers to that question. One of those answers is; “A hero is someone who helps other people, or helps to make other people's lives better.” Another is; “A hero is a person who tries to make the world a better place.” or “A hero is a person who does something that is more than what is expected.” Still others are “A hero is someone that doesn't do something for his or her own problems but for the benefit of others” and “A hero is a person that doesn't want to be a hero just to be famous.” Those were just some statements about what people think a hero is, but what about the qualities a hero should have?
When I think of a hero I immediately think of someone who is strong, intelligent, handsome, and daring. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. Courage, honesty, bravery, selflessness, and the will to try are just a few of the overlooked qualities of a hero. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa.
There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them have perseverance when they’re going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they’re people that we look up too. They all have unique and special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they’re overcoming a conflict they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their achievement/actions and qualities.
In today's modern times we hear the word hero all of the time. The news media throws the term around as if it is an everyday word. What exactly is a hero? Who, or what, can be classified as heroic? The correct definition of the word hero is: One invested with heroic qualities in the opinions of others. That is a fine definition for books and intellectual minds. To the average person, however, a hero is much more.
