The researchers used Fredric Jameson’s cultural philosophical analysis as the framework of this study. The concepts of pastiche and cultural logic of late capitalism were utilized to evaluate the authenticity and reproducibility of the artifacts, identify the communication characteristics of the artifacts, determine how do the artifacts communicate the culture of the Cordilleras, and evaluate the consumption patterns in terms of authenticity, reproduction, utility, and deception.

Jameson’s interest on postmodernism paved the way to his own concept of the post modern society. The post modern society is associated with the idea of the consumer capitalism or the late capitalism concerning the consumption of materials rather than its production. In this condition, the product is treated as an autonomous element from its previous production process. The communication phenomena occurring on the production schemes of cultural material is disregarded. The disconnect of the product from its production method is discounted in the post modern consumer capitalist culture. One of the evident changes within the culture is the emergence of new acceptable features of a culture.
