Although culinary school was a rewarding experience, finding the right career path has proven to be no easy task. I went to school originally thinking I wanted to be an executive chef and own my own restaurant, but overtime my interests and passions changed drastically. After graduating from college, I embarked into the world of retail management. Working in the fashion industry gave me an opportunity to help people with their appearance by speaking to the world without saying a word. In my roles as both an assistant and store manager, I gained valuable experience on running a business and managing people. After working in retail for over ten years, I decided to make another career switch and have been working in insurance claims for the past two years. After assessing my life, I have come to realize that the insurance industry does not bring me any real satisfaction. I have chosen to apply to the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) at Marymount University because getting a M.B.A degree will allow for more opportunities to further my skill set in running a successful business structure and provide me with more variety in career progression. The Masters of Business Administration would allow me to be surrounded by some of the best and brightest in the field, leaders in business, and accomplished peers from varied backgrounds.
