Throughout history, creativity and exploration have led to new ways of thinking and new ways of doing things. For a better living style people have been inventing new products to improve the growing of our society and to make our life easier. The computer is a significant invention for humankind because it makes easier to keep files, and communicate with the outside world. The first computer company was founded in 1949 by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. You might know whats the computer, how to use it, or even have newer technology like the tablet, but do you know the history behind the computer and how did it impact our society. Now in our society we have the liberty to choose any brand of computer that we like, and get it for a cheap price too, but what's the history behind it and what it did take to make it. Actually it took 142 years, (from 1822-1964), to make the first computer for the public to buy. Even though the computer that was made in 1822 doesn't resembled to the computer that we used now, actually it was the first step to a brand new world of technology. Through the pass of the years human have been developed new software and programs to make their products run efficiency, but imagine all that new technology in one product. That …show more content…
But how did the rest of society took it. Society took the computer as the greatest invention made by humankind. It didn't took lot of time until everyone had a computer in their house even the industries were the ones who wanted this invention in their company. An increase in computer usage could improved product and labor quality. With the computer in market it served the people in many purposes, such as aid for research, finishing homework and even as a means for keeping in touch with loved ones. The extreme increase in the use of computers has drastically changed the lives of many
You have to have nothing to make something. There has to be an unknown before there is space to create. Artist and scientist have to be comfortable in this unknown and mysterious place because there is rarely an absolute perfect solution or answer. In the movie, The Colors of Infinity by Arthur C. Clark, they explore the possibilities of fractals to better explain the possibilities of the universe. At one point the documentary compares fairy tales vs. the consistent, deterministic yet unpredictable (because practically too fine-grained) world. Imagine a world that was perfectly predictable. It would be pretty boring and there would be no room for exploration or being creative.
Computers have changed our lives in many, many different ways. We do a lot of things from computers and our portable devices such as get music, watch videos, pay bills, order dinner, keep connected with friends on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter, take college classes online, and many other things that I could make a 5 page list of all the things it can help us do straight from home but that would bore you to death. Now that I have told you how computers have changed our lives and how they are used in daily life, let me tell you the importance of the people working in computers and IT. These people are very important because without them who would you go to for help with your computer, make sure your information is safe, get viruses off your computer and keep it safe for kids from being attacked? That’s right, you wouldn’t be able to do any of this.
Thesis statement: With the power of computers at our hand, our society has made several improvements in different aspects of our everyday life which can range from education, all the way up to the government itself.
Computers are a magnificent feat of technology. They have grown from simple calculators to machines with many functions and abilities. Computers have become so common that almost every home has at least one computer, and schools find them a good source for information and education for their students (Hafner, Katie, unknown). Computers have created new careers and eliminated others and have left a huge impact on our society. The invention of the computer has greatly affected the arts, the business world, and society and history in many different areas, but to understand how great these changes are, it is necessary to take a look at the origins of the computer.
Personal and creative expressions are an alternative approach to traditional academic writing. They employ personal experiences to convey anecdotal narratives. Personal narrative in scholarly writing allows for a broader spectrum of emotion, such as empathy, compassion and humanity. This style no longer confines argumentative research to the empirically verifiable. For the reader, creative and personal expression allows for a broader chance of identification with the text. In the 1970s, consciousness-raising was focused on women’s personal experiences (Lecture Slides: January 12). Through personal narratives, consciousness-raising provided an environment in which individuals are able to develop a collective significance
Creativity, it’s a broad topic of just new things and ideas among people. The definition of creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work. PBS describes creativity as, “The new ideas and new connections between ideas, and ways to solve problems in any field or realm of our lives. The concept of creativity is often hard to grasp because creativity isn 't a tangible thing its just and idea. Also, because it’s hard to differ between a truly original idea and an idea that is just shaped from others. With all this being said, it can be hard to figure out where creativity comes from.
“Computers play a key role in almost every sphere of life” (Berry, Terrie). Without them, everything would be different. People all around the world own or used a computer. Whether you are a professional in technology or just an average person, computers are still very important in your everyday life. “No other technology has accessed the world like computers and the use of the Internet have” (Maddox, Amanda). Without computers, consumers would not be able to do half the things as quickly as we can. Advances in computer design have increased its use for different industries, especially in the medical field.
Prior to the revolution in technology that was microprocessors, making a computer was a large task for any manufacturer. Computers used to be built solely on discrete, or individual, transistors soldered together. Microprocessors act as the brain of a computer, doing all mathematics. Depending on how powerful the machine was intended to be, this could take weeks or even months to produce with individual components. This laborious task put the cost of a computer beyond the reach of any regular person. Computers before lithographic technology were massive and were mostly used in lab scenarios (Brain 1).
aspect of our lives, we are faced with computers. They are in our classrooms, cars, and even used
Advancements in technology, especially advancements in computers, have caused a major impact on today’s society.“More specifically, profound effect on modern day medicine.”[instruct.lanagara.ba.ca 1.] [1] It has changed almost every aspect of the medical field, from the instruments used to the medicines prescribed to the operations preformed.“New technologies allow healthcare professionals to save people they never could have saved before.”[collegeview.com 1.] [2]
Since we are born we have imagination and as we grow up this imagination may increase or decrease. Creativity strongly relies in our imagination. Depending on different circumstances people learn to express their creativity openly while other people close themselves and believe they do not have creativity. Creativity is a natural talent that every single human has. Creativity can be used to solve a complex problem in a different manner or just to find innovative ways to have fun. Creativity is thinking out of the box. Even though creativity cannot be taught from scratch there should be a class that is specific for creativity.
Technology has changed modern society drastically, both positively and negatively. Technology has influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. Albert Einstein was concerned about the advancement of technology. "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction."1 Undoubtedly, what has changed the most are communication, the spread of information, and how business is practiced. Consequently, practically everyone knows how to use a computer, connect to the Internet, or use a smartphone. This is demonstrated by the way the Internet is used daily by millions of people to communicate, to sell, advertise, retrieve, and share information. Thanks to the Internet, information from anywhere in the world is at our fingertips. As a result, the advancement of technology has changed our life in many ways including; sharing of information, communication, business, education, social interaction, simplifying everyday tasks, replacing basic skills and jobs.
The computer evolution has been an amazing one. There have been astonishing achievements in the computer industry, which dates back almost 2000 years. The earliest existence of the computer dates back to the first century, but the electronic computer has only been around for over a half-century. Throughout the last 40 years computers have changed drastically. They have greatly impacted the American lifestyle. A computer can be found in nearly every business and one out of every two households (Hall, 156). Our Society relies critically on computers for almost all of their daily operations and processes. Only once in a lifetime will a new invention like the computer come about.
The biggest and easiest seen change that computers have had on today’s society can be seen in the workplace. Before computers became an office tool and were made available to the average employee, paperwork and sharing information in an office setting was done by many different individuals constantly filing and looking up figures. Now a computer can store large amounts of information that is readily available to virtually anyone with the click of a mouse button. One person can complete a job that in a time before computers would take many. Computers have made file cabinets and libraries almost obsolete. Businesses can share information nation or even world wide in a matter of seconds. For example, a word document file can be sent from an office in New York to an office in Los Angeles in under a minute, in the past this same information would have taken a week to be sent through the mail. Computers have changed the way that factories are run too. On an assembly line, before computers every job, no matter how easy or difficult, had to be done by an employee. Now, however, computers run machines and do most of these tasks.
From classroom activities to space flight and everything in between, computers are a vital part of daily life. Everything we do and every aspect of our life is affected by modern technology, like the computers. Computers let us dissect any sort of data. Computers make us reflect, hence we develop. Because of computers and the Internet, we can talk with individuals from diverse nations, and even see them via webcams.
