Utica sat up in her bed. According to the holographic clock placed on the flat surface of her bed's headboard, it was just past midnight. Utica had been trying to go to sleep for hours, but she couldn't. She wasn't comfortable in her new home in the Jedi Temple. Everything around her was strange and unfamiliar. However, that wasn't the only thing keeping the young girl up so late. Unable to sleep, Utica pushed herself against the wall and hugged her knees tightly to her chest. The full moon shone brightly through the window of her clan's quarters, a shine that would usually soothe the young girl to sleep on restless nights, but that was on her home planet where the silver light was accompanied by the green moon. Now she was light years away …show more content…
This seemed to fit Kotozu's character perfectly with how he protected his sister in the new world. It was no effort for him to make friends with the others in his clan. Utica was not so lucky. She had been put in the Bear Clan, a clan for those whose bravery and courage would become the stuff of legend. In other words, the opposite of Utica. Utica felt that she could never pull off her clan's legacy, for she was much too timid to be even the slightest bit brave. It was because of this that whispers about her began. 'Who is this girl?' the other initiates would wonder. 'Why is it that when she is so quiet and timid, she is put into the Bear Clan?' 'She doesn't belong there.' Utica didn't like those whispers. It made her feel uncomfortable. It was times like that Kotozu would sense his sister's distress and quickly come to her rescue. Utica's Clan leader, Grand Master Yoda, talked to her about the issue once. He said she should believe in herself more and show everyone her true potential instead of always relying on someone else's assistance. Utica was glad that a Jedi Master noticed the situation, but she secretly liked it better when Kotozu was there to protect her. Sometimes Utica wished she had been placed in the Katarn Clan where the people were skillful and stealthy. She could be stealthy. She was quiet …show more content…
"The moon here is different than the ones at home. I miss them. I miss Momma and Papa, and everyone else too." Kotozu watched Utica withdraw into herself. She always held herself like that when she was scared, nervous, or upset, making herself as small as she could in an attempt to comfort herself. Kotozu stood idly for a moment longer before taking Utica's hand and leading her back to her clan's room. "C'mon," he said. Kotozu gently pulled his sister along as they walked back to the Bear Clan's quarters together. Utica softly squeezed Kotozu's hand, feeling safe and secure with her brother by her side. Everything Utica had felt alone in her bed were gone, every negative emotion vanishing in a single instant. It was just like whenever people would crowd her and try to force her to talk. Kotozu would come to the rescue, grabbing her hand and whisking her away back to the safety and understanding of her clan. Kotozu led Utica all the way back to her clan's quarters and up to her bed. Only once did Utica let go of Kotozu's hand, doing so to pick up the blanket that was still on the floor and place it back on Liam. Kotozu tucked Utica into her bed and lay down next to
Sarah and her mother are sought out by the French Police after an order goes out to arrest all French Jews. When Sarah’s little brother starts to feel the pressures of social injustice, he turns to his sister for guidance. Michel did not want to go with the French Police, so he asks Sarah to help him hide in their secret cupboard. Sarah does this because she loves Michel and does not want him to be discriminated against. Sarah, her mother, and her father get arrested for being Jewish and are taken to a concentration camp just outside their hometown. Sarah thinks Michel, her beloved brother, will be safe. She says, “Yes, he’d be safe there. She was sure of it. The girl murmured his name and laid her palm flat on the wooden panel. I’ll come back for you later. I promise” (Rosnay 9). During this time of inequality, where the French were removing Sarah and her mother just because they were Jewish, Sarah’s brother asked her for help. Sarah promised her brother she would be back for him and helped him escape his impending arrest. Sarah’s brother believed her because he looks up to her and loves her. As the story continues, when Sarah falls ill and is in pain, she also turns to her father for comfort, “at one point she had been sick, bringing up bile, moaning in pain. She had felt her father’s hand upon her, comforting her” (Rosnay 55).
THE PAST :.. In days gone by, the four species managed to live in perfect harmony. Witches, werewolves and vampires lived in secret, blending in with the humans on a daily basis - and the humans remained completely in the dark about their existence. It was after thousands of years of living this way, whilst everything was completely normal, that a small group of vampires decided that they’d had enough. They spent months devising plans.
“I love you, I’m going to stay with your father and Nia, she can’t survive out there,” she sadly said.
It was August of 1819 in Mississippi. Men were harvesting corn and beans. The smell of the Choctaw own acorn bread filled the air. All the children were prancing about, playing with friends, shooting squirrels with their little toy bows, and wrestling for the last bite of jerky. All but one child. That lonely little boy’s name was Koi. Koi never got to play with the other Choctaw boys, as he had to prepare to become chief.
Located in the popular Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in California. Every year, mother nature’s breathtaking beauty attracts millions of people from around the world. People hike for three long and fatiguing hours in anticipation of witnessing forceful water rushing down the steep mountain from 2,425 feet above. Last summer, my family and I backpacked through the Yosemite Falls Trail and I came to learn what a truly exhausting experience it is.
Once upon a time deep in a large forest there lived a woodchopper, his wife, and their two children, Hansel and Gretel. It was a beautiful forest, full of trees, flowers and butterflies and streams. Matter of fact, the family had everything they could ever want except for one little thing.
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
Seeing Felecia took her back to another time which was happy and sad. From the moment, she entered the room all she could think of is how much Felecia reminded her of the little girl from the concentration camp. Felecia enjoyed the conversation and listening to the story of what happened with the little girl. Suddenly, they began to bond and for a little while Felecia became that same little girl which made both happy.
Friday Evening Alaric occupies a familiar stool at the Grill; a sulky, raven-haired vampire beside him, filling him in on recent developments. “So apparently this Elijah asshole is one of the originals, and Klaus is the original, original.” “So, old then. And apparently hard to deal with.” “Right. Too hard,” Damon gestures with his drink, nearly sloshing amber liquid onto the bar top. “And Katherine says Klaus needs Elena because she’s from the ‘Petrova’ line?” “Because she’s The Petrova Döpleganger. Whatever the hell that means.” “Ok, there’s something I don’t get here though. Rose, I kind of understand giving her the benefit of the doubt. She’s done nothing to indicate duplicity here. But Katherine? Why should we believe anything she says?” “It jives with what Rose knows, and explains why she was so keen on getting to Elena in the first place.
“Okay, Mom. I'll be up in a sec.”, he said as he pulled the covers up over his head, revealing his large feet that were hanging off the edge of the bed. His mom let out a sigh and left his room. Mark groaned and threw the blankets off of him and sat at the edge of the bed. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and went to the bathroom to brush
“ you can't go looking for him Elena we told you about this Klaus thinks you're dead and we'd like to keep it that way ” Tyler said as we were all at the Salvatore house trying to get everything ready for the party tonight.

One of the most unique creatures are fish. As I am sitting here in my room, my fish are swimming about with not a care in the world. I wonder what it would feel like to be a fish.
November 25, 2012. That day, or should I say night that changed everything. My best friend/sister of six years decided she no longer wanted to be friends with me. She looked me in the eye and said, “It’s just not the same.” Most people would say that’s not such a big deal, it happens all the time. In most situations it wouldn’t have been a big deal but that night I would soon realize that my life was going to spiral out of control and I was going to witness a domino effect like no other.
