"Because I went through a crisp homeless winter. It wasn't easier, but I did it. I only survived because I stole a lighter from some person on the street and light piles of newspapers or small branches I found to keep warm at nights." I tell him, remembering the time fondly. "Okay. Now I have to ask you stuff," he chuckles. "You know my situation better than anyone." "Sit," I gesture. He takes a seat, me sitting opposite him. "I'm assuming you had clothes you either had on or brought with when you figured out you were now house less." I nod. "But, um, how did you get this job?" "Good question," I smile. "Well, thought the 11 months of being homeless I did apply for jobs, I got nothing back because there was no way to contact me. So I found …show more content…
I chuckle lightly. "It does," Amy nods in agreement. "I have issues. I told you once you get to know me, you'll see I'm not always angry. I can be blunt, but I can be friendly too." "He's the charmer," Amy adds. I am not a charmer! I roll my eyes and sit back in the seat. "Your shift ended 25 minutes ago," Amy points towards the clock. Oh... what!? I whip my head towards the clock, squinting to read it. "Oh, I guess I got carried away with talking." Niall and Amy giggle. Amy pats me on the back and leaves while Niall stands up. "It was nice to meet you Loui." "Don't leave before I give you something," I say and walk behind the counter throwing him a lighter. "Remember what I said I did with it. There's still daylight left you can find a few things to burn to keep you warm for the night." He smiles and runs over to hug me. "Thank you." I push him off me. I'm not the touchy type. "No problem. Come back tomorrow and I'll have warmer clothes for you …show more content…
"Now get!" I shout pointing. "You're wasting daylight and time, get going moving will keep you warm too." Niall chuckles and runs out the store waving. I helped him more than anyone has ever helped him before. "Louis, I'm doing another walk in interview in a couple days," Amy calls from the back area. "Oh, who's leaving?" I ask walking back there. "Natalia," Amy says. Good I didn't like her anyways. "I told you that a reason," She said walking out of the room. What? Why did she tell me she was having another walk in interview... oh. Niall. "Do I have to clean him up?" She pokes her head in the doorway. "Yes, he seems lovely though. He reminds me of you. You came in all clean up." "I clean up in the bathroom sink when I came in, and I brought decent clothes with me because I knew I would be applying for jobs," I told her. "Give him something nice to wear," she smiles. I nod. "I'll clean him up real nice." "Good, not let's go we were suppose to close half an hour ago," she says rushing away. "Am I getting paid over time?" I ask and walk out the room following behind her. "No. Did you do anything?" she asks. "I swept the floors for about 15-20 minutes," I guested towards the nicely swept
“I know, but I’m too excited,” I chirped, a lazy grin resting on my face while my widened eyes furiously dart across my computer monitor.
"Sorry, it's just that we're almost there and I thought that you wouldn't want to missing your grand entrance into the castle."
“We don’t got time.” He just taps his foot against the ground while staring at his watch.
I try my hardest not to pout but my face betrays me. "I'm so, so sorry Aly." He adds. "So do you have a date in mind?
Karrie :oh well good luck with that!bye! *she carries out the “e”while closing the door
"I honesty don't know. Yes, I am still mad at you, I mean you practically handed me over to death. If you'd have known-" I cut her off. "Which I didn't. That's the thing Becca, I didn't know anything." She looks over to me, astonished at my statement. I nod.
“Fine, but only for an hour” said Whitney. “I don't have a good feeling about this place anyways.”
“Alright.” He agrees, “But why? I’m not family. Why do you do this?” He asks.
"What were you saying?" She says truthfully. She did not hear to a word her friend had said. She was too focused on reading a scene from her book. Anna sighs.
"Well I could always take them off for you." He said winking. I just laughed. I was used to this from him.
“I’ll listen to your story…” A little boy said, stopping by my front steps. I turned around and smiled at him.
I was walking through Market square in Knoxville with my friends walking around to find someplace to eat. My boyfriend Shae works a lot with the homeless so he started getting kind of upset because the other people kept passing the homeless ignoring them or being just pain rude. Then this lady named Alyssa asked if she could talk to me so I said yes and asked my boyfriend to stay and talk to her with me. While talking to Alyssa I began to cry because I slowly realized her story matched up with my story from when I was a little girl. Me and her have a lot of things in common especially being homeless, I was homeless for a week when I was a child. So just knowing that automatically put emotional ties on my end to her. I wanted to get to know her more and about the things they went through daily living on the street for several years or months. It drew me in I wanted to get to know more and see if I could help these people or at least Alyssa.
“Based on what you have told us, I think you will fit in here, just fine.”
"Yes I'm fine it's just a bit chilly, you know with the wind and all." I reply with a little laugh, he scans the last few items.
