The sun was shining brightly, reflecting off of the hoods of cars and windows in the streets. Even though it was so bright the sun was about to set. Ever since the accident, it has been hard to find good food, most of the food is perishable. I haven’t smelt something good in forever, the only reason I still know I can smell is because I smell stuff that smells horrible. When it is dark , I’m still not sure what is out there, that is why I try to get home before the sun sets. It has been hard to cope with not being able to see and/or talk to anyone. Once I got home, I fed Sam and myself. These days eating means grabbing a spoon and a can of food and just hoping it tastes good. When I was finished eating, I put my head in my scuffed up and …show more content…
We found this big park that was known for being very open and fun for the whole family. There was some things to climb, jump over and hurdle. I did a little bit of ‘training’.Afterwards, I grabbed the tennis ball Sam was sniffing for earlier, when he saw it he got excited. I threw it around a few times, he brought it back. The last throw went back towards some buildings, rolled under a car. Sam went after it, but once he got in front of the car he stopped and looked around, then he bolted (this was something Sam had never done). I tried to keep up with him, he was just running to fast. Just as I was about to come to a halt to catch my breath, in the distance, I saw him stop, it looked like he was ready to defend himself. I looked up and realized the sun was low and was about to set. I screamed for him, it took a while but he ran …show more content…
That’s when we saw your bright lights flash, I didn’t know what to expect. I’m surprised I never saw anybody from here, out in the city. Sam and I have been in this city for a while. “Sounds like you know how to keep yourself occupied, and we don’t leave this place often.” “Yeah, I guess I do. Oh.” “Based on what you have told us, I think you will fit in here, just fine.” “This place looks like a good place to start over, to live the ‘good’ life.” “Maybe you don’t have to start over.” “What do you mean?” “There is someone I want you to see.” I can’t believe it’s him. “Wally?” “Dad? Dad, it is you. I am so happy to see you again.” Embracing my son, is something I thought wouldn’t happen again. “Sam, you still have him.” “Yeah, he might not remember you too well, so he might take a while to warm up to you again.” Sam goes towards Wally, and licks his face. “I guess I was wrong.” “Yeah. I missed you so much, who’s a good dog? That’s right you are.” “So...Wally. How, how did you end up here?” “That’s a long story, if you want to hear it let’s go and I will tell you all about
It was a sunny day the trees had no leaves because they were all on the ground. It was a little chilly and the sun was slowly going down. We went to my aunt's house and put the vest and leash on him. At first Joshua was scared he just stayed still not moving. Then curiosity occurred and he started running around the yard really fast. My dad said “ just follow him don’t pull on him! Just follow him around.”He was happy he did a binky. A binky is an expression of joy from a bunny. Bunnies jumps into the air, often twisting and flicking its feet and head. I remember him running and digging in the leafs. Then Joshua ran into a bush. He really scared me his leash got tied he panicked and started pulling. My mom screamed “ let go, let go.” I slowly let go while my mom unraveled it. I remember my heart beating really fast it all happened so fast His leash was almost undone, we picked him up and redid it. After that he wasn't affected by the event he was fine. I was really glad we caught that the vest almost came off because if it did he would just keep running and we would never be able to pick him. Even though it was a scary situation i was glad he still got to run around and be happy. Joshua was fine he was really happy later. I'm glad i connect with “Dirk the Protector” it made the story
“Yes, but don’t you wanna spend time with your AWESOME brother before he leaves for 4 months?” he responded sarcastically. A couple of hours had passed of watching the quiet tv and a frequent “BEEP!!”
It all started last year during summer break. I was with a couple of friends when he came along. He was short, round and had a learning disability. We thought that it'd be fun to pick on him for a while. We took turns shoving him around. I guess I shoved him too hard and he rolled down the hill we were on. When we found him he was barely breathing. We tried to help him because we thought that it'd be the right thing to do but then we realized that this was all our fault. We couldn't let him go so we carried him into the forest for the animals to finish him off. Days later, we returned to the forest only to find his body with teeth marks all over, he even lost his leg to a pack of coyotes. The worst part of it was that in the midst of all this, he was still alive slowly enduring this torture. We took our turns saying our apologies but we knew that it would never be enough.
“I’m sure he’ll have to visit,” she said. “It’s about two months. I’ll have some downtime. I just come on and do my thing and watch it all unfold.”
I always had trouble understanding others. Growing up I never played with the other children. My grandfather said it was because my mind was too busy thinking of brilliant idea to actually talk to the others. I believed him. I believed in him for 17 years, that all stopped today. It all ended when I was riding my bike to the local market so I could pick up scrap parts for my grandfather. He said they were for his hovertech76 His prized antique hover car. As I made my way down the pavement I saw the market coming up from the horizon and suddenly everything freezes The birds in the sky, the leaves in the air, my bike, everything. I can’t move my head. I am paralyzed. “What’s happening?” I thought frantically to myself “Someone help! Someone please!” But just a quickly as I was put into this horrifying state I was snapped back to my bike. Birds chirping the leaves hit the floor but something is different, I am in the market that was barely in eye sight just moments ago. I slam my brakes. Directing my unblinking eyes towards the ground I start to breath heavily. “What on Earth just happened?” My thoughts scatter, my heart begins to race, Darkness.
The day seemed perfect. The sun was shining through the fluffy white clouds in the sky. The leaves on the trees had turned colors and were beautiful to watch from the windows. We traveled up and down hills like we were riding a roller coaster. When we finally arrived at our destination, we slowed down and pulled over into a small parking area at the top of a large hill. My parents opened the doors and stepped out warning us, “Stay inside the blazer and do not touch anything.” We wanted to go with them, but there was a steep hill to climb and they said they...
It was night outside when Melanie and I exited the hospital. We decided to visit the gardens since they were a walking distance from the hospital. Calm and quiet with only a few people wandering about, the atmosphere allowed us to speak in peace. By the time we reached the gardens, it was Melanie who first spoke up.
It is a rainy night, it was just turning fall here in Asheville, North Carolina. I was stuck working late like I normally am, I work at a local grocery store called “ Asheville Super Market.”
You stand at the bus station, dripping wet from the relentless rain above you. Your dark hair, once dry and curly, is now matted against your scalp firmly. The news report said a ‘light drizzle’, but you were starting to doubt that, and wished you had brought your umbrella to keep yourself dry. Your name is Andrew and currently, you are waiting for the bus in the pouring rain. Your destination is your brother’s new place downtown, and you hope he has the decency to lend you some new clothes once you arrive.
I walked up the stairs, clutching the small cardboard box in my hands, a box that could change everything. The stairs came to an end, and the door came into view. How could I have known so much can change in such a short period of time? It felt like the accident happened yesterday, and what seemed like an event for mourning turned out to be an event that brought us together.
“Right this way per favore” The hostess instructed our eager family. We had driven through the winding streets carved into Italy’s green rolling hills to arrive at this beautiful, remote restaurant overlooking vineyards that blanket the countryside. We were lead to a patio outside shaded by a white gazebo. The place smelled like fragrant flowers. I sat down on a white cushioned chair and wriggling in my seat, picked up the handwritten menu. I scanned over the options trying my best to translate the choices into English. My eyes finally settled on pasta di penne con prosciutto, piselli, e salsa di panna or penne pasta with ham, peas, and cream sauce. My mouth watered at the mere thought. When our waiter came back, I confidently ordered in my
I woke up to the bright sun in my eyes. I hopped up with so much excitement, hoping and praying that rain was not in the forecast today. I ran around the house and woke everybody up screaming, “TODAY IS THE DAY!”. I waited almost a life time for this day, PROM. In my head, I planned on making nothing but good memories. My friends and I was going to party until the sun came up. After losing a friend, I realized too much partying isn’t always fun.
I sat down on my bed, listening to the screaming and fighting downstairs. It happened all the time and it never stopped. We've tried counseling with weekly visits, and nothing works for us. I didn't want to think about it anymore.
“Really? That won’t be too bad, darling. Pretend I am there with you, just like we are now, and when you talk to the class, it’ll be just as if we were carrying on a conversation with each other,” he said with his legendary “sincere” smile and a bit of excitement.
The bell to get out of school rings. Finally. Why do days have to be so long, I can’t wait to get home so I relax on the couch and watch T.V. I walk to the gate where I wait for my sister so we can walk home together. Kendall comes out. “Are you ready to go,” I ask her. She nods.
