We pulled into the parking lot and I jumped out of the car, the breeze hitting me like a pie in the face. It was overcast and we knew that the rain would be in our favor since it would slow the police down. As we looked for the escape boat, we saw that the police were one step ahead of us; they were looking for our boat as well. We got back in the car and drove to the industrial section of the harbour. “Drive away and tell them I jumped,” I told the driver before he left. I jumped to a cargo ship and managed to grab the ledge. I dangled 100 feet above water right as it started raining. And made myself comfortable. “It’ll be a few days, so get comfortable,” the man replied, “I’ll make sure to bring you some food.” After days of surviving on the cargo ship, we arrived at our destination. It was a beautiful day out, the salty ocean smell wafting through the air. I came out of the cargo box and walked around the city, letting myself go within the great sounds and views. It was quite an experience. After my excursion ended, I went to a nearby hotel to continue working. (150) In conclusion, I learned that not all bad events have to come to a bad end. I continued my scandalous work against my former-country and continued to support people that left it. My friend ended up getting arrested for “involvement” despite him being the one who aided the police in finding me. My driver did his best to spread rumours that I had died and that my account was passed to someone else. A few months after the large events, I started socializing with the locals. This country hated my former country, so I thought they might’ve been impressed to know who I was. After telling some new friends my story, I was recommended by multiple people to write it down and share it. And here I am now, finishing this last sentence; I guess we’ll see if writing this down was worth it.
