My creative process begins with word association, whether it’s mind mapping or BDA (before during and after) techniques, using a word process spurs ideas and images that may not have presented themselves otherwise. Next, thumbnail drawings help expand the ideas and develop the mind map further. These sketches usually raise a question or two and thus begins my research phase. Whether it is product demographic research or a profile image of perhaps, a ram, to gain a better understanding of proportions, research also spurs alternate ideas while insuring they are not unknowingly copied from another source. Combining both the creative voice and artistic style goes hand in hand for a designer. Utilizing the creative voice to identify and solve the design query opens the opportunity for incorporating the artistic style into the development of the solution. Using these abilities along with open communication between the client and designer should yield results that fit the client’s needs appropriately. Personal artistic style is an artist’s or designers visual identity, and while it is important to remain versatile, or flexible with this style, perhaps even working outside of it when the situation is called for, it is essential to keep in mind that it is also an artist’s calling card and should not be discarded altogether when working on projects. Personal artistic style is the reason we build portfolios and that clients hire us, and it would therefore serve beneficial for a designer to find that balance of delivering what the client is asking for without losing the qualities in the design that makes it unique to you and your abilities. I believe that handling a project from a client that conflicts with my personal artistic style would be taken as a challenge and an opportunity to grow and develop my experience and skills further while bringing my own unique touches to the design by incorporating facets of my artistic style to distinguish it as a custom or original
DEVELOPMENT. In developing the PCA, test author used 2 kinds of creativeness, one depending on J. P. Guilford's idea of divergent (versus.convergent) thinking along with the other depending on Teresa Amabile's inclusion of social and atmosphere factors in creativeness. Following Guilford, test author defines divergent production as 'the generation of options to satisfy specified broad requirements' (examiner's manual, p. 2). A good example would be the scientific method which is used daily by scientists around the world. The scientific method starts out with asking a question about what they observed, like who, what, where, when, and why [4]. Next comes background research, examples of such would be researching the different components that were used and trying to predict their purpose [4]. Scientists then construct a hypothesis and construct a theory on what they think will happen during an experiment [4]. They then start their experiment. They perform a control or default test, and then change a few variables for each of the other tests[4]. They then analyse their results by watching video footage or measuring the lengths of some objects compared to other objects [4]. They then finally share their results with the rest of the scientific world, usually in the form of a research paper or a book [4]. The artistic method is a little different in that there isn’t any written down rules about it. However, it almost always requires a subject or object that you create. That is mostly done through observation, such as looking at what you are going to paint. In art, some ideas can sound good in theory, but might not work out well when created. Anthropologists conduct research in order to answer specific questions about a particular group of people and their culture. Most anthropologists use fieldwork to collect their data, which is then interpreted within their ethnographic writing. When collecting their data, anthropologists use many different approaches such as developing relationships with their informants, but do not illustrate these relationships in their actual writing. Anthropologists Claire E. Sterk and Philippe Bourgois are two of the anthropologists that emphasize their relationships and the importance of gaining trust of their informants in their perspective articles studied. In Bourgois’ article “Crack in Spanish Harlem” and Sterk’s article “Tricking and Tripping: Fieldwork on Prostitutes in the Era of AIDS”, both anthropologists write about their engagement with their informants, but do so in different ways. Sterk focuses much of her ethnography on the relationships formed, and the information and trust gained as a result; Bourgois, however, spends only a small fraction of his ethnography on his relationships. Both illustrate information about their perspective-studied cultures, the difficulties faced in gathering their fieldwork, but they differ in the amount of information they chose to include in their actual ethnographies.

Paola Antonelli, design curator at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), in her talk in 2007 claimed that there is a possibility to approach to the idea of the design as an instruction or a direction rather than a prescription of form. During resent decade, many designers have tried to separate art and design and introduce the design as an independent tendency. They believe that the essence of art and design are different. Professor Jae-Jin Shim explained that “Art is something driven by instinct, but design has to be based on a rational and commercial purpose” and John Maeda in 2012 argued that there’s a difference between art and design, and it matters. “Designers create solutions – the products and services that propel us forward. But artists create questions — the deep probing of purpose and meaning that sometimes takes us backward and sideways to reveal which way “forward” actually is.”
A designer must be able to make his or her work visually appealing so that consumers are more likely to consider making purchases. A designer must be able to understand what a consumer wants to be able to capture his or her desires. One must listen to the needs of his or her clients and be able to interpret that information into an original and unique design. Prospective designers must be flexible and must work quickly while paying attention to the details within their designs. A designer may have several projects at once and must be able to work diligently on these projects as to finish them in a timely manner, so as not to disappoint the customer. Despite seeming like a glamorous and easy career, majority of the time designers work long hours to make ends meet with their projects (Romano 64). A designer has to consider several thousands of different images and fonts to put into his or her work to make it more visually appealing to the customer. Designers consider the fonts, images, colors, and layouts to make sure that none of the items clash in a bad way. One must do all of this while also making sure not to intrude on any copyright laws. What exactly is creativity? To be creative is to understand and connect the small details of our experiences, both good and bad (creative something). Creativity involves a person using his or her original ideas to create something. Artists such as poets, writers, painters, designers, and more use creativity on a regular basis. They use creativity to come up with new ideas and create original works of art. A poet would use his or her creative abilities to write and produce a poem just like a painter would use creativity to paint a painting.

In the art community there is a lot of controversy in distinguishing what the difference between an artist and a designer. Designers are told they are not artist and they need to stop thinking they are artist. When dealing with art and design specific demographics and viewers interpret the messages of each subject in different ways. Art is said to be elucidated and design is said to be understood. Artists usually develop a work of art with the intention of bringing an emotion viewpoint, instinctive feeling, and or state of mind. When you look at an artist work it cannot be limited to just exhibiting one individual thought or just one individual meaning. That is a big difference when it comes to graphic design. Graphic design usually has a very specific goal and point to make. When dealing with graphic design there should not be any room or space for any mixed messages or multiple meanings. The audience of the design should immediately understand the design that the designer created. Art connects to people differently in so many ways. The only reason it connects to people in different ways is only because it is interpreted differently.
However, design thinking is present in each stage of journey from the brief until the finished work. Furthermore, different solutions can also be produced for any given brief and these can differ widely in the levels of creativity,
