Public health is health on a worldly scale, it deals with the majority not the minority major diseases and chronic illness that are costing governments and countries and individuals in three main way direct costs these include expenses directly associated with diagnosis treatment and cure/care of a person suffering from a disease, indirect costs incurred as a result of the health condition but not directly related to the diagnosis treatment and care of the condition and Intangible costs these costs are very difficult to put a monetary value on and need to be addressed and responded. The national health priority areas are Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus, Arthritis and Musculoskeletal system, Dementia, Cancer control, obesity, mental health, injury prevention and control and cardiovascular health. Injuries may be accidental such as falls, attempted suicide and violence. Injury is a major cause of death for people under 45 years all injuries cases are considered preventable. Transport accident commission (TAC) health promotion program was implemented by the Victorian government, targets injuries as a result of a traffic accident, through the use of media campaign in form of television advertisement, radio, written media the initiative highlights the tragic results of drunk driving, speeding, fatigue when driving and other risk taking behaviours as drink driving is one of the biggest killers on Victorian’s roads. The target audience for this health promotion program is all drives, young males and the elderly in particular. The intended outcome of this program is to reduce the road toll by increasing awareness of the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, unsafe behaviour and the serve penalties that will follow a
