I will be getting my bachelors in mechanical engineering. This degree will take me approximately five years to complete. I will get my associates in engineering while at the same time acquiring constructions job skills like pipefitting and electrician. After getting my associates I will get a full time job in construction while finishing my bachelors degree. Getting this education will cost me nothing. I successfully served the United States Marines from October 2009 to November 2014 so I qualify for the Post 9/11 Bill, which pays my tuition for thirty-six months. I will only have to pay for a semester, which I am estimating to be around seven thousand and the way I will pay for that is with my full time job no loans. There are internships for this career but one of the reasons I am getting my degree in mechanical engineering is that I will not be stuck in this one career. I do not know anyone in this career but I do know construction workers and their advice is to just go for
Godwin, William, and Henry S. Salt. Godwin's "Political Justice." A Reprint of the Essay on "Property," from the Original Edition. London: Allen & Unwin, 1890. Print. Political justice Godwin had insisted on utilitarian groups that in the case of a fire, one had an obligation to rescue first the person most likely to benefit rather than an immediate as a family member. It is a moral obligation to have the well being of living individuals especially the family members depend on one. Godwin’s best work is the political theory. “They are sudden and unprepared emanations of truth that have the greatest tendency to deprive men of their sobriety and self command.” (138) including the attention on class society considering people who are rich instead
I came from Egypt in 2012 with a dream to become a successful person and going to college will be the first step to achieve this dream. And my experience in high school and doing a lot of research on the internet made it easy for me to choose the major that I chose (computer engineering),especially the area where I live in. The median salary of computer engineer in San Francisco bay area is $122,000. And I’m planning on just doing the bachelor degree and then find a job after that. I will not have to pay back a lot of debt because I am not going to take any loans in my 4 years in college. I will rely on the scholarships and the financial aid that I’m going to take from San Francisco State university and from the federal government. And even if I did take any loans, it will be worth it by looking at my salary in the
Construction work and jobs take place in rural, suburban, metro, and urban areas. The work environment can take place in the outdoors, indoors, industrial, and even underground. On average a construction worker works about 8-12 hours a day, 5 days a week.
My chosen career field is in public service. Precisely a career in firefighting. I believe firefighting is a great career choice as I enjoy the work that it involves, and there is a demand that will never stop for firefighters, as fire will always be around forever. The fire department offers a large variety of services to the public. Some of the major tasks that are performed in the fire service range from providing medical care as an Emergency Medical Technician, Entering a burning structure to search for any trapped occupants, suppressing the fire from the exterior or interior, removing a victim that is trapped inside a vehicle involved in an accident, cutting up a tree that fell over the roadway, to helping the elderly up into bed after a fall. Most of these skills requires much training and knowledge and the ability to perform in stressful situations and still remain calm enough to execute clear, and accurate decisions when it involves your life, a fellow firefighters, and even civilian lives. The conditions in which firefighters work in are always changing. One minute, you can be in the middle of a busy highway in the middle of winter at the scene of a serious injury motor vehicle accident with victims trapped and then an hour later you can be at the scene of a fire, entering a building that is structurally unsafe, burning at hundreds of degrees, wearing 70 lbs of extra gear and equipment to save the life of a trapped occupant. You never know what the call will be, when it will be, or what will happen.
I believe that to a certain caliber, the best career for me is an architect. Due to many specific reasons. When I was around the age six, I had a particular interest in houses and homes, especially those that include residential and commercial. I would try to build little forts out of wood and cardboard in ditches or in forests and as I got older, I tried harder to make more unique designs and structures out of more than just wood. Eventually I tried using bricks and cement. I would make cool and sometimes funky designs that even my parents found interesting. After numerous compliments and awes of fascination, I found what was meant for my particular skills. The world of artisism and architecture. The many elements that come
Writing is an essential activity in many jobs and services all over the world including the construction management field. Since grade school teachers have stressed to us the importance of writing. Most teachers will stress just how important it is to know how to write because, we will be writing for our future professions. In relation, some professions call for much more writing than other jobs and some jobs involve very little writing. Construction managers are in the category of those who have less to write than people on other jobs. Some writings that construction managers may take part in are: planning, emails, and bids. Although construction managers do not do a lot of writing, it is a very important part of their work and could make or break their business. It is important to make sure all these writings are done to ensure good business and efficient work ethic. Without most of the writing a construction manager does, it would be quite impossible to finish a job. Writing is not all that the job entails though.
I have completed Bsc (Hons) Construction management at the University of West London, and I would now like to further my career by studying MSC Project enterprise and management at UCL. I have made this decision after understanding that this course will enable me to develop a broad understating of construction management of large and complex projects and increase my commercial awareness of these projects. I also expect this course to be taught with both academic rigour and place consistent emphasis on practical application of what I learn to construction environment. After working in construction for industry for almost 2 years, and studying a bachelor’s degree I feel I am more than capable of completing Msc Project Entriprise with success as I have already experienced the rigors & dynamics of university education.
Trying to be a mechanic is a lot more work than you would think. To be a mechanic there are all sorts of skill requirements and you have to get certified, it just seems like a hassle. Then after you go through the process of learning what you need to know there is still more you are going to find out.
Having the opportunity to work in administration will broaden my knowledge/experience base. If I am fortunate enough to do so in a construction setting that would be the best experience for me to acquire, as it is directly tied to my ultimate goal of managing a home renovation business with my husband. Regardless of whether I obtain more experience in construction administration or not, I have every intention of managing a business with my husband in five years’ time. Five years gives us time to hone our skills and build up the business enough to make it a full-time job for both of
The career that I am planning on pursuing is carpentry. It is something that I have always had a passion for since I was about 5 years old. I have built and repaired all sorts of things whether they are useless to anyone or not. I have always known that I would eventually pursue my dream of being a carpenter no matter what the cost or sacrifice that it would require of me. Carpentry is one the largest building trades occupations in the industry.

The career I choose to pursue is the career of Business Administration. This career consists of running a small or big business and being able to run it and be capable of making small or very important decisions. A business runs and depends on the people and how people spend their money. If people spend their money responsibly and they know how to administrate their money and will make the economy to be stable and be good. As we all know, the economy has been really bad for the past year and it has made millions of people loose their homes and their jobs. The economy is a big factor in this career and it could be a huge problem that can be faced for a long period of time and more than once.
When you want to advance in your field you must be able to obtain certifications in many different programs. When you have a certification it says something about what you know as an engineer, “Certifications provide status to those who have proven their knowledge and give employers a benchmark standard for measuring employee candidates” (Ricci, 2012). Before you apply for a mechanical engineering job you should get a bachelor but now in the workplace you will need a master’s degree to have a chance of moving up in the workplace. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2015) says, “Some colleges and universities offer 5-year programs that allow students to obtain both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree”. Having this choice will allow you to save money on college and then be able to have time for internships and possible a job while you complete your
Choosing a career is very important in a person’s life. Over the past two decades, many professions have change significantly with the influx of technological developments. One needs to think about the things that interest them and what kind of lifestyle they want to have. Some things a person should think about are what qualifications are needed, what type of training is necessary, and the future need of the career they choose. Some other things to consider would be how much money they will make, what is the probability of advancement, and does the career satisfy their need for an enjoyable life.
... do. I am the type of person that becomes bored very quickly with the same thing day in and day out, so this fast paced, always-changing work atmosphere is perfect for my personality. As a civil engineer I will choose to work outside with a hands-on approach to the projects I take on. This will be a very rewarding career for me, since I will get to see a specific design all the way through to the finished project, and I will get to observe how this finished project helps the public. I also like the fact that my work would benefit more people in one day than almost any other profession. Since I am good at solving problems and designing and constructing things, I should have no problems as a civil engineer. Because civil engineering has all the qualities I am looking for in a job, I feel that it is the perfect career for me.
