The Belief systems are Legalism and Confucianism these belief systems have many different outlooks on Ancient China and how to run it.WARRING STATES PERIOD affected the Chinese during Ancient China in China. In Confucianism, they had many beliefs but the one most treasured by Confucianism is Filial Piety. Legalism also had many beliefs but the belief that they strongly uphold others is harsh laws and punishment.Confucianism had many effects on the people and the government. Legalism has the ruler control everything which could have many effects on the people and economy.
One major idea or belief in Confucianism is Filial piety.Filial piety is the respect you have for your elders. Confucius says that if you follow filial piety order can be restored to China.Filial piety is apart of the five relationships.The five relationships are the ruler and subject, father and son, husband and wife, older brother to younger brother, friend, and friend. Confucius said that the five relationships could be used to restore social status. One effect that legalism had on the people was that everyone was scared because they might’ve done something that their ruler does not like and will be punished. Another effect is that legalism had a great effect on controlling the people. Legalists hated Confucianism because Confucianism teaches people how to revolt. And anyone who followed the path of being apart of Confucianism was killed. Legalism was great for politics because it made the rulers' win again and again and again until they died. The economy thrives under legalism because of the low crime rate. Using the harsh punishment and force, they had an ultimate umpire. Legalism is based to help the ruler more than the people.
