Conducting an interview that produces rich and meaningful information while concurrently making sure that participant feel safe and comfortable is a challenging task to accomplish. Although I have never conducted an interview before this is my first time experiencing and learning about how to successfully conduct an interview.
Initially I was interested in a theme that was very common in our society (Thyroid deficiency) that makes daily life task very difficult to achieve for the people who were diagnosed with it. I am interested in learning about how the thyroid disease is affecting the quality life of the students.

Before the interview I asked my interviewee about where she wanted to meet, and she suggested any quiet place, so booked a study room in the Health Science library; which was worked perfectly for both of us. My interviewee was a graduate student at the University of Saskatchewan. In conclusion to answer the research question as “How to conduct an interview that is safe, comfortable, and provides useful knowledge,” is a very complicated, difficult yet an interesting procedure. To conduct a safe and comfortable interview it is necessary to build a friendly relation ship with the participant. Excluding all the biases, assumptions and personal knowledge; that may influence the participants response in any way. It is extremely vital to use an appropriate language and let the participant know that you are fully engage and listening carefully to the response. The strength of the interviewer-participant relationship is perhaps the most important aspect of a qualitative research. The quality of this relationship likely affects participants’ self disclosure, including the depth of information they may share about their experience of a problem. In general, the interview requires tremendous amount of knowledge and responsibility, practice and experience. To conduct such interviews, one must posses’ tremendous knowledge as well as the ability to clearly communicate
