Not long ago, I went seeing Concord Floral play by Jordan Tannahill. It is a contemporary play, there are comedy and thriller. The play was performed at Dawson Theatre 2000 Atwater and it was directed by Carolyn Guillet. At first glance, the performance space looks plain along with the equipment; there were not many props for the play. The director overall has put together a spectacular show and an intense focus the whole message of the theme of the play.
In the play, it’s about an abandoned greenhouse it’s a place all where the teenagers can be, throwing parties set out, and grows up. However, two teenager’s girls who went to take a smoke and went to the abandoned greenhouse. Tell the story of a prank that happened in the greenhouse, one

There are ten characters in this play, which are Anthony Chiarelli as Just Joey, Pedro Juan Arango Rodriguez as Bobolink, Jake Cohen as John Cabot, Nicole Soriano Deegan as Forever Irene, Marilena Papadopoulos as Rosa Muni, Gabriella Toloza as Nearly Wild, Dawn Gleeson-Roy as Couch, Fabiola Mejia-Castillo as Fox, Oumy Dembele as Greenhouse and lastly Eva Le Melinaire-Ulloa as Bobbie James. Most of these actors have a significant presence throughout the play, they remain in full character. In this particular play I like Marilena Papadopoulos as Rosa Muni, she has a significant presence and a social character. I like personally like Rosa throughout the play because she connects herself with the audience and the way she acts is believable. When she was on stage performing she was very energetic and funny in some scenes and she acts like an actual teenager in the scene. She stands out with when expresses her emotions towards the audience, where the audience can feel what Rosa is feeling in the certain
The play Sisters, by Wendy Lill, is set in 20th century Nova Scotia at an Indian Residential School. The play focuses on a hopeful 17-year-old farm girl named Mary who was dating Louis at the time. Along with the present Mary who is currently in interrogation with, the duty counsel, Stein. She has been accused of torching down the Residential School, the place where she worked for fifteen years. There are various factors contributing to the impulsive reasoning behind Sister Mary’s act of burning down the Residential School such as, the actual truth to why she committed the sin, the contrast relationships with others that reflected upon her actions, and the overall punishment she should receive.
It was good setting to get the attention from the audience and also a way to move around or change settings of the play. Although I love this play my small critic for this play was the players. Some others actors had understandable accents but others didn’t. For example, the brother of the servant his accent was confusing because he kept switching his accent from different country languages. This play was really nice it had a little of bit of everything drama, comedy, romance, betrayal. What like about this play it was how they used the dramatic structure the inciting incident and the climax. The inciting incident for this play of musical comedy murders of 1940 was guessing who the killer of the play was because there was tension building up not knowing who the murder was. The climax for this play would be for me finding out who was the murder and just being in shock how everything had change into a new scenario. Overall it was amazing show how it developed and how well an organized transition the play
...p Lucentio get closer to Bianca. Grumio is always there by Petruchio’s side. In the movie he is almost always by himself, rather than with his servants. The movie merely showed the main character to get the point across in an hour and a half. These characters in the play add much more to the story.
The play that we read for this unit is Too Much Punch For Judy, by Mark Wheeller. It is a form of Verbatim Theatre, meaning that it is based on the spoken words of real people. This play is about the story of a young woman who kills her sister in an alcohol related accident. When I first read the play I couldn’t empathize with the story as I haven’t experienced such a shocking event before. In this essay I will describe, analyse and evaluate both my work and the work of other actors in my group, focusing on the mediums, elements and explorative strategies of Drama.
Novels and plays are essentially the same in the sense that they assemble the means necessary to showcase a variety of stories ranging in diversity. The quintessential underlying difference between the two is the format in which the stories are displayed. Plays, like Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun use literary techniques such as dialogue, acts and scenes, and stage directions contrary to novels to guide the audience’s response and interpretation of the characters and actions in the
shall firstly do a summery of the play and give a basic image of what
Many popular novels are often converted into television movies. The brilliant fiction novel, Flowers for Algernon written by Daniel Keyes, was developed into a dramatic television film. Flowers for Algernon is about a mentally retarded man who is given the opportunity to become intelligent through the advancements of medical science. This emotionally touching novel was adapted to television so it could appeal to a wider, more general audience. Although the novel and film are similar in terms of plot and theme, they are different in terms of characters.
The play that I went to see for this reaction paper was The Addams Family musical. I saw this show on May 27, at 8:00 PM. This production was put on by The Little Theatre of Norfolk. This paper will include an over view of the play through the four critical lenses, performance and technical aspects.
This play shows the importance of the staging, gestures, and props making the atmosphere of a play. Without the development of these things through directions from the author, the whole point of the play will be missed. The dialog in this play only complements the unspoken. Words definitely do not tell the whole story.
First impression of the play when I first walked in was one of confusion. The stage design was not distinguishable. I could not tell what was going on or what it was supposed to be. One thing I could
Besides the fact that I didn't like this play, the actors did do a pretty good job with their acting and memorization of their lines. Couple times Marisol hesitated with her lines but it wasn't too bad. I like the accents they were using. It wasn't to hard to understand what they were saying, but once again there were those times when their accents did effect a little on their pronunciations and my understanding on what they were saying. Overall, I don't think they were too believable with their characters. They didn't reach me.
The climax of the story has a few layers of drama that really bring out the problems between the characters. We see Santiago and his half brother Cheche battle about the future of the factory; this affects Santiago's relationship with his wife who doesn't know about all the debt and risks he has taken. Then there's Conchita and her husband Paloma, who are experiencing marital issues which become heightened by the seductive lector Juan Julian. Both couples have personal conflicts with one another as well as external issues that affect their lives. The play had interesting parts to it such as infidelity and abuse of sexual nature. some very sensual parts; like infidelity and sexual abuse but were carried out by the cast with immense care and genuineness. Gomez does a really good job of bringing out emotional performances from the actors. This really took me on an emotional/visual roller coaster. The characters moved from happy to angry and from night to day with great ease. Scenes were so realistic and I found myself really engrossed in the story. Gomez interpreted the script really well and I think he related to the story. The story felt natural and cohesive, like it was his
Played by Christy Czajkowski, I thoroughly enjoy her acting. I personally felt like her character was realistic and comical. She had the ability to project her voice and be open to the audience while still portraying a “closed” emotion such as discouragement. In addition Christ y used her props very well. She glasses gave a good support to her character and the portrayal of her character. She showed true feelings of envy, discouragement, pride, and happiness. I am always supporting the underdog and in this play Helena I the one with the lesser advantage. I appreciate the fact that she got the man she wanted in the end.
When you read this play, take special care to remember the difference between the work of a playwright and that of a novelist. Novelists may imagine their audience as an individual with book in band, but a playwright writes with a theater full of people in mind. Playwrights know that the script is just the blueprint from which actors, producers, stagehands, musicians, scenic designers, make-up artists, and costumers begin. You will need to use an extra measure of imagination to evaluate this play before you see the Goodman production.
...ith the lack of closure the author has paved many paths, making one unable to give a proper retelling of the play due to various interpretations. The play has also slyly inserted a philosophy on human life, the uncertainty and how it is a major part of human life is portrayed through this play. All these characteristic together make this play a very good play, it makes one want to live forever as to see what future generations would interpret the play as. In conclusion, this text is written to make the readers think and participate as active members in the reading of the play.
