Lovers stopped in time, unable to proceed to the lip locking trophy of affection. A simple four letter word that has changed the world by its beauty and awe. What are these interesting pictures of words and love? The Kiss, a dramatic scene unfolding before everyone created by Auguste Rodin, and LOVE, the simplistic sucker punch created by Robert Indiana, are wonderful creations that have both an impact and a meaning. These two sculptures have graced the art world with all their beauty leaving some breathless. They mean so many different things with different imagining, reside in separate parts of the world, but some sculptures are more well-known. In this case LOVE is more Known.
To begin with, we all think of love as this beautiful, wondrous emotion that comes with a flood of hugs, and kisses. The Kiss, also identified as Francesca da Rimini, is a stunning picture of people in love. Auguste Rodin put everything he had into making this impressionist replica of the young, adulterous couple, Paolo and Francesca, from Dante's Inferno. Created in 1889, the figure is created in a way to symbolize that the lovers are focused on each other that you can hardly see their faces. The kiss that they are about to give each other is made to not have completely gone through, because Gianciotto Malatesta, Francesca's husband, killed both of them before they could finally achieve their kiss. It is a truly sensual piece due to the couple being nude, as well as, the smooth texture of the people compared to the roughness of the marble rock below them. This piece of eye candy has so much raw emotion behind it with such a depressing backstory to back it up. Love is apparently an extremely complicated subject for most people to comprehend. People someti...

...ferent wonderful artists and creations pop into people's minds. Indiana's worldwide popular phenomenon is known left and right. His creation appeared in the age when Warhol was painting cans of soup and people were making art to show points and movements. Different parts of the world know more about it than many other beautifully created sculptures. Something that hits a modern heartstring most likely would be remembered more than something that someone has never read or heard about before.
All in all, even though The Kiss, a beautiful, well created masterpiece, put next to LOVE, a strong simple piece of work, has a deeper meaning with many differences in numerous areas. With people passing by and posing with a squared heart and people stunned at the simplistic design remember what Oscar Wilde once said, "A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament."
When we think about the force that holds the world together and what makes humans different from animals, one answer comes to our minds - that humans can love. Love is a state of mind that cannot be defined easily but can be experienced by everyone. Love is very complicated. In fact it is so complicated that a person in love may be misunderstood to be acting in an extremely foolish manner by other people. The complexity of love is displayed in Rostand’s masterpiece drama Cyrano de Bergerac. This is accomplished by two characters that love the same woman and in the course neither one achieves love in utter perfection.
Richmond Barthé was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on January 28, 1901. Richmond was born in a hard time for African Americans. He demonstrated incredible guarantee as a craftsman at a youthful age, however as a Colored American in the South, he was banished from selecting in any of the craft schools in New Orleans, Louisiana, close to his home. At eighteen his area minister in New Orleans and an author for the New Orleans Times Picayune distinguished his capability. Richmond was eventually admitted to the Art Institute of Chicago, after struggling to get admitted to an art school. He began to study sculpture, which denoted a defining moment in his profession. After Barthe graduated in 1928, he opened up a studio in Harlem, where he stayed permanently in 1930. Nonetheless, ending up progressively disregarded by a symbolized world that had come to esteem deliberation an imaginative style which held no enthusiasm for him; Barthé moved to Jamaica in the late 1940s, and later existed in Switzerland and Italy before coming back to the United States in 1969. His career in Jamaica flourished, till he later decided to come back home to the states. Overall Richmond Barthe received many honors and awards including: Rosenwald Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, Audubon Artists Gold Medal in 1950, and awards for interracial justice and honorary degrees from Xavier and St. Francis Universities. Overall this artist intrigues me as I’m sure it was extremely hard to start off. He was born during the worst times in America, racism throughout his life and then leading into the great depression. I’m glad he was able to express himself through the art that he published.
The article tends to drag on with William Egglestons life. The reason I chose to read this article about art is, because art is so elegant to examine. To see the art of a really well known artist makes the article more intriguing. It’s interesting to see how a writer tries to explain how someone else’s art can attract them. I`m an artist myself I would rather see my art and do less talking. It’s all about the picture that’s on the wall that does the talking. It’s you as a person understanding how to determine what to feel when looking at the art on the wall. I believe artist face a very entertaining and difficult time when it comes to art in general. Passion is a great lesson any artist can take away and learn from. It makes a piece of artwork come together and makes the outcome strong. Art is very powerful and in my opinion it guides our society and makes change happen.
In the case of the Times Square Kiss, the photograph was taken with little known information to begin, so today it is even more of a mystery. For this reason, there is a significant amount controversy today over what is really going on in the photograph. At a glance, the photograph depicts a couple kissing in New York's Time Square. The young man is wearing a form...
The first type of love the audience is introduced to is the interchangeable love of Benvolio. According to Benvolio, a man should love a woman for only the duration of their relationship. If their relationship should end, the man should feel no grief. If the woman rejects the man initially, he should still feel no grief. In either situation, the man should simply start a relationship with another woman. “But in that crystal scales let there be weighed/ Your lady’s love against some other maid/ That I will show you shining at this feast, /And she shall scant show well that now seems best” (I.ii.103-106). Benvolio's definition of love shows the audience two things about Benvolio: he is a womanizer and he has never before experienced true love.
Good morning Mr. Rodin! August: Good morning! Interviewer: I’m so excited to be able to conduct this interview with you and find out “what makes Rodin.” Okay let’s get started with one of your pride and joy sculptures and also my personal favorite “The Kiss.” This work shows the passion that can be shared between a male and female, and because this work is so life like its almost as though you can feel this passion being shared as well. The detail and texture that you put into creating the body of the female and male is magnificent. What I want to know is where or what did you get your inspiration from for this masterpiece? August: This embracing couple portrays the the 13th century Italian Noblewoman Francesca da Rimini from Dante’s Inferno, who falls in love with her husbands little brother Paolo. The couples secret is discovered and the enraged husband kills both his brother Paolo and wife Francesca. As you can see in this sculpture the lover’s lips never actually meet. I included this fact to represent that they were interrupted and met their fate without ever actually kissing. Interviewer: Wow thats a beautiful yet tragic story to get your inspiration from, but that makes this piece so much more intriguing knowing this background information! The next question I have for you is that I’m sure most artist have a work that wasn't their particular favorite. There can be various reasons as to why this work wasn't their favorite. For example, maybe there was a time limit imposed on a work and the artist wished they could of spent more time on details. I guess what I'm getting at is what was your least favorite work that you created. August: Well, I wouldn't say that I have created something I absolutely hate, but my first major wor...
Creating a sculpture can last a lifetime if made well like this George Washington Carver sculpture he designed. Artist Christian Petersen put in outstanding work to create a piece of work that not only he enjoys, but others can see and enjoy as well. Every piece of art has a story and that is overlooked most of the time. People seem to look at the art work and that’s just about it. When starting a book do you just look at the cover and not actually read the book? No, because then you are creating a false illusion. The George Washington Carver Sculpture is more than just a silhouette of himself, it emphasizes the vision for the future of agriculture and his passion for science, students and farmers Carver had. I recommend everyone to go check out the outstanding work Christian Petersen put into creating the George Washington Carver sculpture.
Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) was born on November 12th 1840 in Paris, France. Very few would dispute the statement that Rodin was the greatest genius in the world of sculpture in the late 19th century. There were very few artists who faced the criticism; slander and personal insults during their lifetimes as was given to Rodin likewise there are few artists who have known such personal glory during their carriers. Rodin's sculpture was so powerful and original that those in control of the art world did not understand him in his day. He was refused admittance into the Ecole des Beaux-Arts three times and was the brunt of many articles criticizing his works. His talent and art was so powerful that despite all of the official disdain he received he was able to overcome these obstacles placed in his path and emerged on the international scene attracting collectors from around the world to his studio seeking his works. Rodin's youth was spent drawing and sculpting at an early age. He spent much of his time at the Louver where he met Antoine Louis Barye. After his three refusals of admission to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts the eighteen-year-old Rodin worked as a craftsman and jewelry maker as well as at other odd jobs. His beloved sister died in 1862, which shook Rodin greatly, and he entered the Fathers of the Saint-Sacrament. It was there that he created his second sculpture, a bust of father Piere-Julien Eynard, his first bust being that of his own father. After two years Rodin reali...
The lyrics of the song Kiss with a Fist by Florence and the Machine relate incredibly to Lena and Harold’s rocky relationship in The Joy Luck Club. Although Lena’s marriage isn’t a physically abusive one like the one described in the song, it’s still emotionally and mentally defective. The physical pain detailed in the song is the equivalent of the pain Lena feels in this irresponsive, dull relationship.
Love has always been a controversial issue throughout centuries. However, it was, and is, still one of the most popular topics in literature. One cannot help but be reminded of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet when that particular topic is brought up, which is one of the finest examples on this topic. Despite all the literary works written about love, love itself remains unexplained. The questions “why” and “when” is often asked –it can usually be answered vaguely or deeply, but sometimes it remians unanswered. In Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen makes Mr Darcy, who has captured young girls’ hearts for decades, say “I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”, which is both very informative and a vague answer, when asked by his love of life. It is vague, because it doesn’t exactly answer the question “when”. On the other hand, it is a perfect answer to describe the mysterious nature of love.

It proves that in order to be in love, some time for each part to contemplate on the nature of the emotion must pass after two people meet. In other words, if it is described as that romantic “love at first sight” it’s not the love that brings a happily ever after, but merely a form of cursed obsession that leads to disappointing endings.

Love means unconditional acceptance. Love is the first feeling we feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way. Love is when we go out to eat and give somebody most of our french fries without making them give us any of theirs. Love could be simply putting the toilet seat down, or love is being swept off our feet. Love is the attachment that results from deeply appreciating another 's goodness. Love is a sensation that magically generates when Mr. or Ms. Right appears or love can be expressed by saying nothing because they already know how exactly they feel for each other. The poems “To My Dear and Loving Husband” by Anne Bradstreet and “True Love” by Sharon Olds explore their awareness of true love in a deep and romantic form. Even
More than seven thousand languages are spoken on Earth but many of them disappeared in the ancient time nonetheless others developed and survived. Every person speaks in their language and every people get information by speaking with someone or reading it in the book. People said how they felt or saw it. Much of what people know about love is encoded by oral language or poems. That’s why people see “love” in the different ways. Some people think that love is something bad, that it is the illness and it will “hurt you but others may think that love is one of the most beautiful thing in the world. “It makes you happy and you feel freedom.” People may love their family, friends and other people. So, my research question is how William Shakespeare and Pablo Neruda represented “love” in their poems, Sonnet XVII and Sonnet 147? Both of them lived in different time, hence they will have different ideas about love feeling.
