My names are Victor Adeshile, from Nigeria. I'm a Computer Science Student here at Uopeople. This is an essay based on the two Artistic figures, "Memi and Sabu" and "Statue of Gudea"

Although, all Continents are different is all things, historic statues and artistic figures are very common in all and it deeps down to culture, era, periods, state or condition of livelihood and artistic styles. The following is a comparison between "Memi and Sabu" a statue of the African Origin and "Statue of Gudea" of the Asian Origin.

Memi and Sabu statue depicts that of affection and love between two royal acquittances. It sends a message of a couple and unity.

Statue of Gudea, on the other hand, sends a message of respect, reverence, and serenity. It is a single identity and according to THE MET ("Gudea is depicted in the seated pose of a ruler before his subjects, his hands folded in a traditional gesture of greeting and prayer."), It focuses on serenity and humble poise.

The Statue of Gudea dates to (ca. 2090 B.C.) which is almost half a century before the Statue of Memi and Sabu was crafted in (ca.2575-2465 BC)

There are various levels of study that helps indicate the era of a particular sculpture. According to metmuseum.org; "the flowering of nonroyal statuary was believed to have occurred only in the Fifth and Sixth Dynasties. Recent studies indicate, however, that many of these nonroyal statues, including Memi and Sabu, are better dated to the Fourth Dynasty, contemporary with the great royal statuary programs. The early date for Memi and Sabu is based both on her coiffure and on the reciprocated embrace." The hairstyle of Sabu is an indicator.
