World Cultures: Comparing China and the United States Religions are very different in both countries. In the US most people are Christian, but there is a freedom of religion so you have the right to practice any religion that you want to. In China they are against religion, because it brings people away from communism, they want communism to be the official religion of China. Status symbols of living in the US are things that you can buy, cars, houses, clothes ect. In China everyone is given an equal amount of money because of the communist society, so it is much harder to have these sort of things. US people value money, the next thing they are saving up for, a new boat, or something else of value. But in China their values are different, mostly because of their communist government. They want to do everything for the good of the group, or their country, the more they can help out the better. The government of China you probably already know, it's one of the last communist governments left in the world. In a communist government the government runs everything, the businesses and jobs, they pay everyone equally. This does though have problems. People have no incentive to work, no matter how good a job they do they still get the same pay. In the US we have a Democratic-Republic which means we elect who we want to run the government for us. People are free to sell anything for any price they...

“Proper society did not think about making money, only about spending it.”, said Barbara W. Tuchman. This quote shows our real world, and the people that spend money, but they forget about the value of money. Nowadays people want more that they have. They forget how many things they have, and how much money they spend. Most people when they see other people having something better, and in that moment they want to have it also. Also, people forget how hard they got that money, but how easily and quickly they spend it. In the article “The treadmill of consumption” by Roberts, he says that people are willing to go into debt to buy certain products and brands. That is right that people can do crazy things to buy certain goods.

There are some cultures that are similar in terms of geographical region and as more in similarities than differences. For example, by historical influence, Latin American countries share culture between them and also with Spain, as well as Europeans who share certain cultural, tastes in food, manners and customs, because some countries had influences of past kingdoms and conquests. It can be said that no culture is like the Chinese culture, neither in language, customs, or personality; the Chinese culture is so unique that is a whole world to know. Chinese cuisine is adapted to the climate and the characteristics of the geographical area, meaning that Chinese food cannot be eaten the same or in the same way as in other countries. In fact, it is said that the tasting of traditional Chinese recipes in their home is a
Comparison of American and Chinese Cultures Cultural differences are apparent from one group of people to another. Culture is based on many things that are passed on from one generation to the next. Most of the time, people take for granted their language, beliefs, and values. When it comes to the cultural differences of people, there is no right or wrong. People should be aware of others culture and respect the differences that exist between them.
I stayed in China for more than 20 years, and then came to the United States last year. During the last year, I kept comparing the two countries and found both similarities and differences.
There are many different pros and cons in life. Regardless of what someone is trying to compare. It is very interest when doing research on new country that an individual does not know much about that particular topic. What are the most important qualities in a country that help us function as a society. They are economic growth, strong structural system with government so the people can have a leader to follow in the right path.
In the book, The China Study, eight principals of food and health are based upon years of study. The eight principles are valuable for all people regardless of race or location. People are people and everywhere people need to eat. The principles found to work in China will work across the board regardless of location on the globe. According to the eight principals, good, whole-foods, plant-based diets will provide the nutrients required to maintain health no matter where one is. However, one’s biochemical individuality must be considered when recommending the principals to a client because of the individual dietary requirements. Some people must have additional protein or other nutrients that may not be available in a plant-based diet to meet his or her requirements. For most people, however, a plant-based diet as shown in The China Study can provide most of the nutrients required for health because nutrients that are available in whole-foods are biochemically correct for health maintenance. In my opinion, several principals are more relevant than others, particularly principa...
From the beginning of their establishment, the bilateral relations between the United States of America and China have changed throughout the time. The bilateral relations of the two countries emerged from 1970’s with the ‘Ping-Pong’ diplomacy and there have been many pauses in their mutual relations. The US and China enjoyed cooperation in economic and military spheres and the mutual relations grew massively during until the end of 1990’s. The heads of the two states began visiting each other’s countries and the economic ties were tightening year by year. However, the issues of human rights and free speech declined mutual Sino-American relations. The American principle of democracy promotion and human rights protection minimized the Sino- American relations after the Tiananmen Square events in 1989, the US Presidents-George Bush and Bill Clinton- playing a key role in determining the further American foreign policy towards China.
How can this be right? In China, workers don’t even make that much already.
I think that it is important for me to look around and ask myself what kind of things I can do to help my country. Recently, at school, we collected money for the Red Cross. We had to explain over and over to the students that it didn't matter if you gave one dollar or twenty dollars. Whatever you give will help others and be appreciated. Even though I am too young to make a big impact on the people involved in the tragedy, I feel like my small part may have let them know that people everywhere care.
China's development is praised by the whole world. Its developments are not only in the economic aspect, but as well in its foreign affairs. Compared with other developed countries, China is a relatively young country. It began constructing itself in 1949. After 30 years of growth, company ownership had experienced unprecedented changes. Entirely, non-state-owned companies can now be more involved in sectors that used to be monopolized by state-owned companies.
