No matter how many times people protest for equality, it ultimately doesn’t change. Today in our world, some laws prevent everyone from being equal. Propaganda from higher-ups gives a false sense of equality to make society think they are truly more equal than before. Two stories relating to these topics are George Orwell’s Animal Farm and Kurt Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron. While George Orwell’s Animal Farm framed an allegory about the Russian Revolution around animals on a farm, Kurt Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron uses the science fiction genre to showcase how the …show more content…

I am a sassy. When Napoleon was trying to think of an excuse for why the windmill collapsed, he made up his decision and told the animals that, “Snowball has done this thing” (49). The commandments that were made for the farm were rules that would keep the animals from becoming very human-like. They forget one major commandment that all humans do. Lie. Lie. Lie. Keeping the truth from being told helps maintain equality among the people and animals. This helps keep everyone under control and believe they are safe by having a strong leader. Napoleon never owned up to his mistakes and took advantage of the stupid animals. Which made him look like a powerful leader. In Harrison Bergeron, while Geroge and Hazel were watching a television program it was abruptly interrupted by breaking news of a man named Harrison Bergeron. He had just escaped from jail and was “regarded as extremely dangerous” (3). The government told all the people this, convincing all that Harrison Bergeron was the enemy and hostile. Harrison’s goal was to not hurt anyone, but to just follow his beliefs. He soon ripped off all the handicap equipment. The government didn’t like any of this, and didn’t want anyone else to think of this
