This story Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel about an animal revolution over an oppressive farmer. The irony in the story comes when the pigs turn into the very thing revolted against. They exhibit the same cruelty by treating the other animals the same or even worse than previous owners. This cycle of cruelty is shown in the Russian revolution by Joseph Stalin who is represented by Napoleon in the story. Cruelty in animal farm is shown by the human’s treatment of the animals, and the animal’s eventual treatment of each other and the ironic characteristics of the two. After the Animal Revolution the pigs take the initiative and place themselves in charge because of their claim of having higher intelligence. Over time this power begins to distort the basis of their revolt by recreating the same social situation they were previously in. “When the pigs takeover they claim that their goal is to preside a farm of equal animals, all working together to support one another, yet power quickly proves too much for a pig.” Though the animals originally took over the farm to increase the animal’s independence as a whole, because of the pig’s superiority they soon take the place of the humans further limiting their independence. The idea of totalitarianism that is shown in Animal Farm is represented by the pigs treatment of the other animals. The pigs start off treating the other animals as equals but as their hunger for power increased they began to differentiate themselves from them. In today’s world, people have always strived to create a utopian society. In the novel ANIMAL FARM written by George Orwell, the animals strive to create their own utopian society based on equality and prosperity. Animalism was created to, as like the Ten Commandments, Animalism’s Seven Commandments were rules for the animals to live by. However, similar to God’s rules, Animalism was a difficult concept for all the animals to follow and live by. Secondly, the collapse of Animal Farm was due to the animal’s own intelligence and their ability to fully understand how the farm was being run. Finally, the failure of Animal Farm was due to in large part by the pigs power over the other animals and the greed and desires that the pigs wanted to achieve. Therefore, the collapse of Animal Farm had to do with Animalism itself, the animals, and the corruption of the pigs.
Animal Farm by George Orwell, is an allegorical novel in which animals get mistreated and forgotten which represents the Russian revolution except using animals in place of humans. For example, the animals, like the pigs and horses were mistreated and forgotten about. Their owner, Mr. Jones has forgotten to feed them many times due to his own drunkenness, neglect and lack of responsibility. He would also treat some of the animals different from the others and give some animals better treatment by providing them with more food than the other animal. Mr. Jones knows he doesn't feed the animals but he does not care because most of the time he is drunk and doesn't remember anything. He influences Napoleon to the point that Napoleon starts to act like Mr. Jones and tricks the animals and treats them badly with no care just like Mr. Jones had previously done. But Mr. Jones
It is so easy to become complacent in our sheltered world and to turn the other cheek to the violence and misery that our every life decision can perpetrate, and that the majority of the country (mostly unknowingly) buys into. The fact is that if the horrors of the meat industry were common knowledge, the business would decrease, and drastically at that. So, to keep the knowledge from becoming widespread, meat and animal factory farms are content to work quietly and discreetly in the sparsely-populated back corners of the country where no one can see what is being done without making an active effort. The problem for them is, many people have been making an active effort- as the animal cruelty cause became more mainstream, the US saw a huge increase in the investigative journalism aimed at uncovering the flaws of factory farming. These findings have been explosive, and have led to animal rights legislation , (although sadly, this legislation does not protect all animals). This boom in investigation led most factory farms to close down plants to the outside world, no longer allowing tours or photography and dramatically increasing the security during the hiring process in an attempt to eliminate undercover journalists. Representatives of the factory farm industry claim that they they work out in the middle of nowhere and have increased security for the welfare of the animals; however, this is clearly not the case. They are covering up the overcrowding, the starvation, and the misery that the world is all too happy to ignore, as long as ignoring it means that they can continue on with their lifestyle. The truth is that there is no such thing as a “happy” factory farm animal- even the supposedly “ethically treated” animals, the free ...

However, he did this in a discreet way by using animals to symbolize the different people that played a role in the Revolution.

The characters, settings, and the plot were written to describe the social upheaval during that period of time and also to prove that the good nature of true communism can be turned into something atrocious by an idea as simple as greed.

Animal Farm is a book about animals that run a farm without the help of any humans. The animals initial idea was to use a form of communism to keep everything fair, but the pigs do not do a good job of following the rules, and things don’t work out. They become leaders, but unfortunately they are not fair to the other animals. The farm would be better off without the pigs, and here is why.
The pigs in animal farm were very greedy. Every time the pigs can get extra food they take it and do not share their food with the other animals. When the animals find out about this the pigs say that they need the milk/food because they are the smartest and do all the work. The pigs are the leaders in the farm which means that they can take things that they usually do not have. Also the pigs are very smart, Napoleon was the smartest pig and knew how to outsmart all the other animals. He attacked snowball viscously and chased snowball out of the farm. Napoleon began to morph the minds of the other animals to believe that snowball was the real villain and that he broke the windmill. Napoleon basically rewrites history while he is the leader of the Animal Farm by making himself the hero and snowball the villain the pigs act more and more like humans as the story goes on. They start to act like humans and even start to stand like them. The pigs do not even look at the rules of animalism anymore and they are basically humans. That was the reason why they revolted and in the end you cannot even tell the difference between the animals rule and the humans rule Totalitarianism is shown because the animals’ food is being taken, their thoughts are being controlled, and they are being cruelly treated by the pigs.
