Superstore and Walmart follow a grid layout to display merchandise. Superstore follows more of a white based theme for their interior design; starting from the shelves to the flooring and signage has influence of color white. For Walmart there is no particular color pattern they follow; the shelves are grey in color, flooring is off white and signage is done in blue with white writings. Since both the stores carry variety brands. So, product shelfing is done quite similar as the main objective is to accommodate all the brands they carry under their shelving space. As far as the product classification goes, the products are logically placed and have proper signage before the entrance of each aisle. Walmart’s signage is small when compared to superstore this makes it hard for people with eyesight issues to read the signs, mainly elderly people. Super store tends to have sale signs hanging down from the roof, this drives attention of the buyers. Walmart layout promotes shopping. Customer can buy products that were not even on their shopping list. They have many checkout lanes which helps to reduce the waiting time as increased waiting time could result in dropping of the shopping cart.
Wal-Mart’s low pricing boards have been displayed all over the store making the customer feel that the products that they are buying are low priced and making them feel that they are saving money.
For superstore space is one of the biggest positive factor for them. As the store looks very wide and has space has been used properly. The bright lighting in the store makes it look more pleasant which enhances positive feeling in the customers promoting shopping. Also, their bundle pricing works for them and customers buy more number of same products for less price.
In addition, both the stores understand the needs of customers with disabilities and have made their store accessible for them as well so that they can have pleasant shopping experience.

Mr. Walton’s competitors thought his idea that a successful business could be built around offering lower prices and great service would never work. Mr. Walton also credited the rapid growth of Wal-Mart not just to the low costs that attracted his customers, but also to his associates. He relied on them to give customers the great shopping experience that would keep them coming back. I have not work at Walmart but I have two relatives who have been working at Walmart for over 25yrs. However, with being a mother I always shop for the best brand and the best quality of food. I shop at Walmart for only products, such as paper towels, cleaning supplies, and under clothing. As far as, groceries H-E-B is a better quality of food than Walmart food products because Walmart has increased higher and Wal-Mart quality of food has decreased as well. You can purchase a gallon of milk for $1.98 instead of half gallon for $1.89 is the better bargain.
