The two stories, “The Pardoner’s Tale” and “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” both written by Geoffrey Chaucer, were two unique tales with astonishing morals. However, when a reader reads two or more narratives, he/she tends to find one story best due to certain aspects of it. There are certain aspects of a story that makes it better or worse. After reading the two stories from the Canterbury Tales, “The Pardoner’s Tale” was a better anecdote because of its lucid morals, tightly structured plot events and symbolic figures.
“The Pardoner’s Tale” depicted better morals than “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” by making it more lucid for readers to interpret. On page 179 of the tale, it shows an interesting moral which was straightforward for one to understand. …show more content…

In comparison, “The Pardoner’s Tale” had orderly fashion plot occurrences. For example, on line 110 of this tale, the three evil men met up with an old man who they ask where they could find death. He then steered them in that direction on line 162 and they went there. In line 205, they found gold which lead them to kill each other because they were all greedy and wanted it for them self. Here, they happen to find death due to the fact they killed each other. Everything happened in order and was simple for nay reader to understand. It symbolized greed and death. In line 169 of page 126, the three men encountered the gold and they all wanted it. This shows qualities of greed because they didn't want to share it which would've been a more modest thing to do. In the “Wife of Bath’s Tale”, beauty was a symbolic figure; however that could have been interpreted differently in anyone’s perspective because the reader does not know for sure if the man found internal beauty in her or if there was any magical element involved. Then, the three men killed each other which was the sign of death because they killed each other over the gold. Hence, the tale with the better symbolic figures was “The Pardoner’s Tale” due to the fact of being more lucid and easily
